In 2013, Alexis Murphy vanished when driving to town. A massive search began, and when they led to a shady individual, it seemed case closed. Was it though? He proclaimed his innocence, and another person was on the prowl. It would take 7 years for closure to finally be found.

I watched an interview with the family of Alexis, and her family said that they want her back SOOO badly, but NOT at the cost of that guy going free, they said they want nothing more than to bring 17 year old Alexis home where they can finally bury her and give her a proper resting place but if that means that dude gets a reduced sentence and could possibly go free one day, family said NO DICE!!! They could not and would not risk him hurting another girl and putting another family through that heartache, I thought that was such a very strong and hard decision to have to make, but in the end they said it won't bring Alexis back alive so they turned down his "deal."

And by not dealing with the devil the family of Alexis potentially saved other lives! Alexis had to die to catch this guy and to save others lives. That's pretty heroic. God had a bigger plan for her. I'm so sorry the family had to go through everything though. To wake up daily and not know where your child is, has got to be the hardest thing in the world to deal with. We can deal with death but not know where she/he is.... has got to be pure torture! RIP ALEXIS Much Luv to her Family and close Friends!

Wonder if the cancer he has now has put the fear of God in him. Felt he had to try to give up her location in a pathetic attempt at contrition, pathetic because he tried to make a deal for the information first. Contrition should not be contingent on what you can gain from it. I am glad he still finally admitted to where he put her. What a POS

I'm local to this case (my mom went to her high school, I went to school in Lynchburg) and the heartbreak that this community feels is palpable. There's a gas station (the one mentioned in the video actually, in Lovingston) that put up a Christmas tree in her honor and said they wouldn't take it down until she came home. It's still up to this day. There are faded blue ribbons up for her everywhere. Utterly heartbreaking.

Let me share something with you guys about Jesse Matthew. My daughter was a patient at UVA Medical Center when he worked there. He transported patients and would lift them if they were unable to walk. He actually brought my daughter back to her room and lifted her into the bed after one of her MRI's. Not long after, the news came out he was responsible for some of the murders. I literally broke down and cried tears of relief and gratitude because I was able to bring my daughter home alive after he had his hands on her. I feel so bad for those mother's who didn't. @@tcobuttsmellystench3236 what? No we don't! Lol We just don't want the government taking away our freedoms, which clearly is happening right now. No we don't have as much CCTV as the UK does, but when Americans said we didn't want cameras everywhere, we were talking about EVERYWHERE.. if we could put them in places that are high risk such as every corner in Chicago, dark/desolate areas where multiple crimes are committed, the neighborhood trap house, etc. . . FINE! However that argument was at least a decade, or more, ago. We have cell phones that allow our government in the bathroom with us while we take our daily shit. Education and mental illness play a bigger part in our shitty world than any other factors do. And the best part about that is *those things CAN be improved and changed.* All it takes is us humans doing what we’ve been doing for centuries and generations; cooperate, communicate and CHANGE. Always update our knowledge and never follow tradition unless it makes logical and humane sense! Do no harm even to those who do harm. Hearing that she was finally found after 7 yrs sent me into tears. My husband's daughter, my step-daughter has been missing for over 8 yrs and she has been murdered. She was also 4 months pregnant too. Her killer was finally arrested and is still waiting for trial. But not having her body to bring home and bury is torture for our family. RIP Alexis. ❤❤❤❤

It’s nice to see how quickly the police department sprung to action, and along with the community stuck with the effort to find her to the very end. Hopefully they can find the other young lady sooner rather than later.

I am genuinely pleased for the family in this case. However, it's difficult to reconcile that with all the other people that have disappeared in that area over the previous two decades. I guess having CCTV cameras helped, as shitty as the images are, but considering it is a relatively small area, why had the FBI not been involved sooner?
@farmerlarbear2244
@farmerlarbear2244 3 жыл бұрын
@@cvf253. Ya, you see the police drag their feet all the time, even with older teens like her. I guess, especially older teens like her. It’s always, “She’s probably mad at her family” she’ll pop up in the a.m. It’s tough for the police though, as well. They must receive many many calls every month for yrs, before it’s an official abduction/homicide type case. Though there are quite a few real missing people from the area. Hopefully getting these two scumbags in cages will help with that problem.

I feel ya. My husband and I used to sit and watch our son play at the beach or at the school, playground. Whatever, and we’d watch other ppl too & point out the ones that looked like perverts and creeps. The only problem, as a parent EVERYONE looks like a potential pervert or creep. We ended up being hyper-vigilante and sometimes I wonder if that was always a good thing. My son is 28 now and it doesn’t seem to have effected him in any noticeable ways. 😂✌🏻

Still so sad the ending of this case. They just recently found her remains out here by the highway. It's even weirder living in Blacksburg, one of the last cities she was spotted in - plus this place has a lot of messed up cases of it's own. Not to mention the Virginia Tech shooting.
