“When the man shot my daughter, my first reaction was to snap back to my childhood and the pain that had happened to me” I’m sorry, what?! Your daughter is dying and your first reaction is self pity? Her priorities are clear.

i think she was trying to say she was triggered from this event casue it reminded her of a similar situation she was in as a kid and how to deal with it. i think she was trying for something like that but was too dumb to word it right. I don't understand her at all! I'm a mother and my biggest fear is I will out live my sons. It's a nightmare to parents when they have to bury their children. Another thing I don't understand is how she can be mad at the children.that she put here. Those kids didn't choose to be here and when I hear that she didn't want her children because of a man I cringe. Those babies where supposed to be the love of her life it's sad she was to self loving to understand that.

Y’all that was the least offensive thing about her. I can absolutely imagine if someone asked me that Id say “I don’t know I didn’t exactly take time to ask” because I’d be pissed to even be asked that. To an audience that could seem like dark humor, and then them laughing could cause me/her to laugh. I have autism so my reactions when I am nervous or upset are not always precisely how people think they “should” be. Too often true crime comments focus too much on things that don’t really mean much. That comment of hers was meh. The other shit she said was way worse.

This happened in my state and she was an object lesson for all of us. Diane Downs is a poster child for malignant narcissistic behavior. I was and remain unsurprised that she viewed children as beings to be used for HER comfort and HER needs; disposable in her eyes. Watching her in the 80s... it was a sobering experience to come to the conclusion that any mother could do this to her children and then get pregnant "because I was lonely". I've never forgotten how I thought, if she didn't want them, she could have given them to so many people who would love and care for them rather than this act of betrayal and selfishness.

My own mother in fact repeatedly told me this exact statement herself since a young age.. she had me when she was 16, and got pregnant "because she wanted someone who would love her." She then married a man who would repeatedly sexually abuse me from the age of 7/8 until I was 16. She resented me, hated me and did not show love or care. I found out later that she knew about the abuse and after years of counselling/therapy after leaving the family to a safe place many hours away in my mid 20's, I took him to court. Unfortunately he was well connected and walked away after being charged with 39 counts of abuse..and my mother defended him from the start and is still to this day with him. It took me years to heal from all of this, but I can now share my story knowing I am safe and none of that was ever my fault. I have never once looked backed or regretted my choice to walk away from the one person who was supposed to protect me. My heart goes out to those children in this story, and I hope one day the survivors are able to find peace in their hearts and heal. 💗

The laughing during the reenactment and during interviews really got to me. She is evil and heartless. There are so many women who wish to have children. I personally can not wait to have kids one day. Then there are women like her who were blessed with beautiful children and chose to hurt them out of selfishness ... then LAUGH about it. It really doesn’t sit well with me at all. Those poor babies. Makes me emotional tbh

Someone mentioned her birth chart and I had to take a look at it, it's a whole ass mess. Almost all of her planets are in leo, they have positive aspects to the moon (all her) and challenging aspects to Saturn in the 9th house, she was totally disconnected from her higher self, Saturn in Scorpio is when strong will meets fierce focus. The results are persistence, endurance and sometimes RUTHLESSNESS. Those children were income for her, everything she did in that 6th house leo was for security. The man she thought was the man of her dream was probably well to do. That 6th house has almost all her planets, she was definitely ill in some way. FASCINATING

That Oprah interview. When she laughed with the audience about how ridiculous she sounded. A mom who was TRULY grieving would have been a lot more emotional (even though she showed next to none) and they surely wouldn’t have laughed about her kids dying. Also when she said “kids are so easy to make” just shows you she thinks they’re disposable
