I'm just now getting into ChatGPT and AI. I'm using it to help me narrate my character's actions while playing by post on Discord. So far so good. The edits options really helps me narrow it down to get what I want...

Good use of the AI. I use it to help me write private, non-monetized adventures and from the beginning it was clear to see AI's potential capability regarding D&D and DMing.

I just recently did a campaign using the 5e rules but within the Star Wars universe during the Old Republic. I've always wanted to try dnd and by watching your videos I was able to run a successful story of being a Jedi trying to find my sister's whereabouts and explored a Sith Temple. I think I found a new hobby...

If you ever wonder why your channel stop growing, it's because of the uploads(if it did). You have started out epicly with the Bard story and few other stories and me personally I've been waiting for another episode.. however, with the frequency of the uploads the algorithm of the youtube stopping showing you on my feed. Eventually I forgot about this channel until now; KZfaq decided to show me this video as a first choice. So, sad to say but youtube is a hard work and no surprise a lot of different channels are uploading stuff everyday or every second day. They feed us with content as if we were junkies :rofl: I am hoping to see more, especially because your content is great :)

You can have great success with this approach when you really extend the prompt description. Try writing the prompt like its operation instructions.

I've been using Claude 2 for my solo roleplay. I picked that chatbot because the context window is so much larger than ChatGPT. That said, I've seen a lot of the things there that you've mentioned here (the AI missing class details, having trouble tracking combat, redundancy, but also very good at conversation). I've suffered the "shortest route" problem also, where it would try to resolve a whole adventure in a single prompt response. I've come up with some prompts that help a lot with the issues. It helps that Claude 2 has the ability to directly upload documents (it doesn't seem to support plugins right now, but this is like the ChatWithPDF you talk about). But it can only keep a context window of a fixed size. I'm not sure how ChatWithPDF might help with that for ChatGPT, but what I've seen when messing around with ChatGPT vanilla, it would lose the context after awhile and either forget things that it said or I said earlier. Claude's very large context window helped with this, but not 100%. There was a point where I filled up the context window (in the middle of an adventure) and it said "You have reached the end of the conversation." My fix for this was to take the previous chat, divide it into 4 main plot arcs, then to ask the chat to summarize the previous adventures. I asked multiple questions about listing all the NPCs, asking for details on the interactions and such, just so that I got the gist of what had happened before. I was then able to upload these summaries to a new conversation and continue the adventure. My concern with this is how often or much I'll have to keep doing this. Plus my summary is getting longer and longer, and eventually will fill up the context window itself. I'm working on some possible solutions, mainly seeing if I can feed the summary data into a database that another program can be used to query and then feed only context sensitive data into the chat prompt so that I don't lose old data, but I also don't have to worry about constantly filling up the context window. I'm curious to see how this adventure will continue, and if/when ChatGPT will forget the conversations you are having with NPCs right now. I'm also curious if there are any current plugins out there that could help with this. Maybe I'll need to look into the plugins for ChatGPT to see what is out there (or if something new needs to be developed, I'm a software developer by trade). I think part of the thing that may make things better for you would be to switch out from 5e to some other systems. Dungeon World is more narrative based and it seems that ChatGPT has already been trained on its rules. You might want to play around with the idea of changing systems to something that is less tactics based.

This was fantastic, I love the format you chose to use for the story with the artwork and different voices. I would love to see it try to run a module. I think the implications of this are huge, especially once people start to write adventures and source books with AI specifically in mind.

Just like how the writer's union is having a strike over concerns of being replaced, I have to wonder... if talented, passion projects like yours start to emerge, how will such future efforts shape the landscape for those that want to maintain creative agency. The pdf plug in can be a gamechanger but I'm wary of how much it can retain. However this another great first step to this adventure(s)

The problem im sure you'll run into is simply memory. If you get it to understand how to be a dm and all the rules eventually it'll start to forget things.
