I first saw The Donnas on SNL when they did "Take it Off" in 2002.. I was amazed.. They instantly became my favorite band ever ever ever lol.. saw them 4 times live after that.. Unbelievable live shows.. Have to be there to fully appreciate.. Sadly a bygone era for them and me :).. Very glad I got to see them though.. I even got to shake/kiss Brett's hand at a Pittsburgh show once.. we were right at the stage \o/ Woo Hoo!!!

Torry Castellano was a bada*s drummer, and if you ever saw them live, then you know exactly what I'm talking about because she always played exactly like this. Hard to believe that it's now been 12 years since they disbanded.

I feel bad that no one says much about Maya. She was, and probably still is, a great Bass player! For a band without 3 guitars, a lead, rhythm, and bass, man they were tight! That's not easy. It means Allison was playing chords, and doing fill in leads too!
@sportscarsmovies Жыл бұрын
Ok with you but she's not very inventive . She plays like dee dee ramone . A bit more "fantaisie" at the end of each verse could give more for the song . During the last years , she was better and better . Anyway it was a super rock band , many many thanks to them : The Donnas !!! * the record "spend the night" is mentionned in the Manoeuvre's book : 111 best unlucky records .

Maya was a great bass player. One of the best I’ve ever heard! Her playing was rock solid. I admired her a lot.

When you grow up in Queens, like the Ramones, you do it until you die. When you grow up in Palo Alto, you do it until you earn your post-grad degrees.

@joejones9520 Жыл бұрын
it's not her voice, it's the songs. The vocal melodies were too low and difficult to sing which is a sign of a weak song. Too bad cause Ive always really liked them and hoped theyd break thru with a great song.
