Either way 9 years in jail seems extreme for this, the girl was not walking down a dark alley and raped she was naked in bed with a guy literally making cam porn at his house. Gang murders spend less time in jail. I think what he did should be illegal but 9 years for that is excessive. I really doubt her life is that ruined from this incident whereas this guys life is over. Also at what point is rape after they say no? 1 millisecond? 1 nanosecond? Given him being wanted for homicide, I can even fully understand tazering an otherwise 'merely fleeing' suspect. The whole thing being started by throwing a tantrum over less-than-perfectly-hot MC DONALS FRIES is just the icing on the cake. Also, was it even legal to interrogate that Cody guy? He seemed heavily intoxicated/high XD
@scottmuchewicz10526 ай бұрын
Yes, it was perfectly legal. If this Cody guy had been a wee bit more intelligent, he would have demanded a lawyer. In the US it is each person`s legal right to have a lawyer. If you don`t have one or can`t afford one, the State provides one. What a person ought to do after getting arrested and right at the start of the interrogation is to inform the police or detectives that they do not and will not answer any questions or say anything until their lawyer gets there or one is provided. In this manner, the person can avoid accidently incriminating themselves. What the detectives did with Cody is they realized how stupid he was and took advantage of it. The detectives can`t be held responsible for this because they did read him his Miranda rights. Cody was just too stupid not to say anything and he was too stupid in not asking for a lawyer.

And yes cops can lie, the supreme court even signed off/allowed it for cops. Criminals run cons and cops run sting operations, both are the same. Just sting ops are legal.

I must admit, it is very refreshing to see police do their jobs correctly and get many of these criminals off the streets. My opinion of the police here in the USA is not too great, but it appears that things are finally changing for the better. I really hope so. Police having cameras and having to record all their interactions with people is a huge help. It sure took long enough. I would really like to be able to change my opinion of our law enforcement officers, but I have seen some horrible injustices committed by those few who misuse their power and positions of authority. Perhaps that no longer happens with cameras now in use, but I remain wary nonetheless. Btw, "Cody" is about the dumbest, most uneducated and ridiculous criminal murderer I have seen yet. What a dimwitted gang-banger clown. He lets his temper take complete control and then incriminates himself because he can't control it. Much like a three year old! I remember back in 2013 in Mesa County, Colorado there was a guy named David Norman who took his girlfriend camping, killed her, punted her body off the mesa, then went home and called the cops to report her missing. Since, as anyone who’s ever seen half an episode of Law&Order knows, the first suspect in any homicide is ALWAYS the significant other, sheriff’s investigators were able to make an arrest within a few days. They found, among other things, surveillance video of Norman dumping his victim’s body, separate surveillance video of him washing his truck, his victim's blood in the parts of his truck that he missed while washing it, a Walmart receipt in his wallet for the large garbage bags that he used to wrap his victim's body before disposing of her, and text messages from him asking her if she wants to go camping. The moral of the story is that if you're dumb then don't kill people, and if you're smart then you should already know not to self-report.

I feel like if someone were truly smart enough they should be able to solve their problems in other ways rather than murder (stupid people tend to murder for very stupid and unnescessary reasons) and if for whatever reason murder seems necessary and is the only option could just manipulate/convince a someone else into doing it for them in a way that will leave no connection to them, so even if the person gets caught up decades later they can't prove that they ordered it.
