As an autistic person who often gets ridiculed for the ways i experience happiness- "why are you making such a stupid face", "stop laughing so loud it's not that funny", "ew gross why are you flapping your hands"- i really needed to hear the last part of this video with the star wars guy. There will always be people like Ashley who just put everyone down, I’m very self conscious as well and she would have torn me down so badly if she had done something like this to me. But there are also many people who enjoy and encourage you and me and others as well. I can’t say “don’t worry about her and just move on” because that doesn’t help or work most of the time, but I can encourage you to still enjoy the things you enjoy in spite of her. ❤

As I’ve gotten older, I stopped being able to feel things this strongly, and I think maybe for some people like that, they must assume ‘this person hasn’t grown up’ instead of ‘oh I’ve lost something’. It can be hard to understand that everyone’s experiencing things differently and it’s not necessarily bad, especially depending on if you’re in a culture that emphasizes not showing your feelings (which can be different by region) I think it’s cool people are still able to feel this way about things, sometimes I wish I could still get excited about things too. I hope people who relate to him don’t take it too personally when people get uppity about this, you’ve got something very cool in your life even if that goes right over some people’s heads

Especially when in order for the tax to cause a $4 increase in the tip, he has to be tipping 45%. So the real tip difference using his math would be now tipping $45 on that $100 meal instead of $49.

@@seigeengine tipping seems really stressful for everyone involved, because after reading what you wrote after this video, I'm even more confused than ever lmao. But that's just my perspective as an outsider for whom the tip is usually already included in the bill to begin with. It's called a "service charge" and it ranges between 0-12.5% (most often its 10% or 12.5%). And 20% VAT is always included in the price as well. Some people may tip a few quid on top of all that, if the service is really great or the server is really sweet, I do this often. The reason we have service charge included as an option at the restaurant's discretion? It's because restaurants and bars etc must always pay their employees at least minimum wage by law and they are not allowed to use tips to make up wages. However I know that if you are a good looking and polite server in the United States you stand to make way more than many servers in the UK could ever hope for lol. So who knows which is better and for whom it is better? I have no idea tbh Thanks for coming to my Ted talk about tipping I guess?

I dont know what most people tip but it seems to be less than 5 or 10 dollars on average and servers get paid less than minimum wage. If anything American servers make less than in England... Yes even good-looking and polite ones. Being paid a dependable livable wage is definitely better than depending on sheer luck and goodwill.

Because most things in America aren't structured with equality in mind and it's more about competition, I assumed it would be better for the few rather than the many. @@bums009 I work as a delivery driver. From what I can tell, whether or not you get a tip is pretty much predetermined the moment the customer puts in their order. I've had people give me nothing for a $60 order that got to them 10 minutes early, and I've had people give me a 50% tip on food that got to them 20 minutes late because we were short on drivers. Tipping is an extremely unstable way to earn a living. I'm in college living with my parents, so it works fine for me. But I know plenty of servers who have familys that they're supporting. I don't know how they stay sane....

im so disappointed in that ashley girl that THATS what she chose to focus on cause there is a genuine point to be made about that video. if it were a video of a teenage girl reacting this way to something she's passionate about, something thats considered to be a feminine interest to be exact, she would get bullied mercilessly by her peers and grown men on the internet and no one would really defend her like drew did here (dont get me wrong, im glad he did, everyone deserves to enjoy what they enjoy and to be proud of it). it happens all the time with kpop reaction videos that young girls and just women overall make. i still remember a video from a couple years ago, might even be around the same time this video came out, where 2 girls reacted to a bts music video in a very similar way the guy did. they were bullied and mocked for months if not years for it, ended up in SO many cringe compilations on youtube and no one defended them at all. it happens even more often in real life to the point women dont talk about their interests and men assume they dont have any cause they never take us seriously. double standards are so fucking annoying and instead of pointing that out, ashely decided to be horrible to that dude :/ so awful

@@belledraws1331i think the hatred for kpop groups is because of sasaengs and toxic "newer" fans who jump on people who don't like kpop (correct me if I'm wrong as I don't really listen to kpop). It's one if those situations where the smaller aspect of a fandom (usually toxic/rude/annoying) is also very vocal and it ruins everything for the rest of the fans even though the bad parts of a fandom don't always equate to the entirety of a fandom.

lol, yes, that's the real tip. Hypothetically the man is dropping about $11000 a year on restaurants, and feels like tipping $400/year more is the issue. Also, his math isn't even right. The difference pre- vs post- tax was 8.88. In order to save $4 off that, you'd need to be tipping 45%, which means even on his pre-tax bill he's already tipping around $4700/year.
