All the Easybeats were born overseas Dick Diamonde - bass player (born Dingeman Adriaan Henry van der Sluijs in the Netherlands) Harry Vanda - rhythm guitar (born Johannes Hendrikus Jacob van den Ber in the Netherlands) Stevie Wright - vocals (born in England) George Young - lead guitar (born in Scotland) Snowy Fleet - drums (born in England)
They all met in and around Villawood Migrant Centre (in Sydney). Originally the main song writing partnership was Wright and Young but soon changed to Vanda and Young. George Young is the older brother of AC/DC’s Angus, and Malcolm Young. And he, with Vanda produced the first albums by AC/DC and thus the Easybeats are sometimes called the ‘uncles’ of AC/DC Vanda and Young went on also to write a string of hits for other artists and had their own small project group Flash and the Pan.

One of their biggest hits was “Love is in the Air” sung by John Paul Young (no relation to George Young) and was made famous around the world when featured in the Australian 90’s movie “Strictly Ballroom”.
The Easybeats song “Good Times” got the interest of Paul McCartney who on hearing it on the radio pulled his car over and rang up the station and asked them to play it again.

Be careful sliping down the hole of the Australian pub rock seen. It's fantastic. The Easybeats they meet in quarantine stations in Australia when imorgrating to Australia. The Easybeats were big in Australia and the UK. The Singer was Stevie Wright was a great performer and personality for a front man and the two guitarists singing and playing together were the song writers and real talent soon to be Australia biggest song writers and producers. Harry Vanders and George Young. Vander and Young wrote most if not all of the Easybeats songs, and then for Stevie Wright including the epic Evie. They also wrote some songs and Produced for George's little brother's band AC/DC amongst others. The were also immortalised in the Dire Straits song Sultans of Swing. Guitar George is George Young and Harry is Harry Vanders

This song was recorded in Australia at the Albert's studios in Sydney before The Easybeats left for the UK where they wrote and released Friday On My Mind, an international chart topper. The lead singer is Stevie Wright. The rhythm guitarist is George Young. The lead guitarist is Harry Vanda. The drummer is Snowy Fleet. The bassist is Dick Diamonde, from memory. They were immigrants to Australia from the UK and Europe who met up at an immigration hostel in Sydney in the early '60's. By the time this Number One was released, they had other chart-topping hits like She's So Fine. Harry Vanda and George Young became the two songwriters of the group from Friday On My Mind onward. This song - Sorry! - is a Wright/Young song. It is, with Friday, my favourite. Sorry, and what preceded it, had simpler lyrics and was not as complex as some of the later music. George Young is the older 'brother' of Malcolm and Angus Young of AC/DC fame, and they produced a lot of their early music in Australia for AC/DC, also through Albert's. Wright, Vanda/Young, The Easybeats, are well-established royalty on the Australian Rock'n'roll scene. Another hit that should have been an Easybeat's song is Evie, released in 1974, from memory, Parts 1, 2 and 3. Another Rock Classic!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Easy Fever. There's quite a bit of video on KZfaq of the boys performing live. You should also check out their songs "I'll Make You Happy" and "Friday on my Mind" (their biggest hit). (Don't you hate it when the camera concentrates on the go-go girl instead of Harry's guitar break?) The guitarists George Young (far left) and Harry Vanda (tall and blond) went on to become a huge influence in Aussie rock music in the following decades, writing songs and mentoring bands - including AC/DC with two of George's brothers in it, and had their own set of records as "Flash and the Pan".

No I don’t mind at all the camera concentrating on the go go dancer during Harry’s solo. And don’t call me an old pervert because that go go dancer was my age if not a bit older when this clip was filmed! Lol 😁 Also, they are lip syncing the song but they could play it beautifully live if they wanted to. The lip syncing was most probably the tv program’s policy for technical reasons. Thank you, peace & love to all from an old Aussie Mod who loved the Easybeats and the Loved Ones! 🇦🇺✌️

Here’s another Aussie band I think you’ll like to show on your channel. It’s the Loved Ones with their biggest hit The Loved One released in 1966. I think there are about 3 time signatures happening during the song. INXS did a successful version later on in the 1980s. Here’s the link … kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l96FjK9jrpyvdmw.html
