Hi Traci, Grace, Peace, n LOVE In The Thrice-HOLY CHRIST. Glad to hear it. It is Essential that We grow in The BODY, tho. Elder Brother White will most certainly tell You that he is not an Elder or Authority over You, but that You should be a member of a Local Fellowship, serving GOD under multiple Elders [accountable to each other and You] that You also may be held accountable by the Brethren In CHRIST. This is GOD'S Revealed Will for Us and will build you up, many things..., edify others, and Glorify GOD. Are You an active member in a ASSEMBLY/CHURCH? If not, i'd Love and be Honored to help You.

That would be the perfect debate question: “Does Jesus intercede for the trans-world damned?” That really is the difference between a theology that is informed by Scriptural exegesis and one that is derived from overriding philosophical commitments. Bad form Dr Stranton. Bad form.

James, better examples might be Jesus' response to the question about the Galileans whose blood was mingled with their sacrifices to which He added the those killed in the collapse of the tower of Siloam. "Now at the same time there were present some who told him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate mingled with that of their sacrifices. And he answering said to them, Think ye that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans because they suffered such things? No, I say to you, but if ye repent not, ye shall all perish in the same manner. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, think ye that they were debtors beyond all the men who dwell in Jerusalem? No, I say to you, but if ye repent not, ye shall all perish in like manner." The problem with Molinism is that it does not properly account for the natural condition of the human race in Adam. Folks love to quote John 3:16 but have little or no thought of John 3:36 and it's consequences.

Molinism is a strange philosophy. It continually denies the sufficiency of scripture because none of this is in the bible and they are trying to go beyond what the text says.

I think attacking molinism either because it cannot be deduced from Scripture, or that it was never heard of for 1500 years, is weak and basically an admission of defeat. If it is an intellectual model that clarifies and makes sense of certain doctrines, it is a contribution. It would be on the level of Jonathan Edwards' treatise on the freedom of the will. The point is that molinism is conceptually incoherent, since imaginary people either make decisions according to their imaginary disposition, in which case it is still subject to the criticism of Edwardsian compatibilism, or their decisions are arbitrary, i.e. whatever the story-writer or imaginer puts into their time sequence, which is another form of determinism. IOW it does not escape the dialectic of determinism/randomness.

Vain philosophy. Obviously, we can't add the word "kinds" or "sorts" or "manners" to the text. If God wanted to say "all kinds of men", then He said "all kinds of men", but He didn't say that. Obviously on one level God's desire is that all would be saved and on another level God longsuffers higher priorities. Does that work philosophically? Who cares? That's what God is expressing to us in Scripture.
@oracleoftroy
@oracleoftroy 2 жыл бұрын
James is observing that Paul did use "Kings and those in authority." Those who try to misuse this text as saying "all individual men", adding the word when Paul could have explicitly said so if he meant that, are even more guilty given that Paul already clarified how he used "all men" from verse 1 in verse 2. Paul never changes his usage between verse 2 and 4 This whole issue is due to ripping a single verse out of its context so it can be shaped to suit whatever worldview we want to impose on the Bible instead of reading the full paragraph or chapter or book to see Paul's actual flow of argument and what purpose the verse really serves if we want to be honest with the text. Really, your whole complaint boils down to "White read verses 1-6 instead of just verse 4!"

All of your cricisms of the hisotoricity of Molinism are irrelevant and fallacious. Those do not matter to the argument as to does it as an overlay make sense of the text in toto.

It is better if Judas had never been born. So in what possible situation (in what world) would it matter for him that he would not be damned? Also Jesus being autotheos is not a biblical term and not mentioned until the 16th century by calvin IIRC. So James white is just being pretentious with his objections.
