What are your thoughts on The Watcher?

My theory is that John Graf was The Watcher sending the letters working with Pearl and Jasper. Pearl could have sent the letters to Graf sending him over the edge then blackmailing him into being the second watcher. Remember in the final episode Roger Kaplan looks at him and asks “how’s the family”. Kaplan would have taught the Graff daughter as she was in high school at the time of her death. Which means the only people that can positively identify John Graff are Pearl, Jasper and Roger Kaplan. Dean, Nora and Theodora should have thought of that when Kaplan was brought up as a suspect. Then Dean could have come to a forensic sketch artist and bring the portrait to Roger and ask him if he taught the Graff’s daughter. I highly doubt a school teacher would have forgotten the murder of one of his students. Also John would have gone to his children’s parent teacher conferences which is why Kaplan recognized him. In small suburban towns people know each other.

Pearl is the mastermind Watcher. And everyone who lives in the house becomes a watcher themselves and she recruits them to watch the new owners.

it started out so good and i was invested in the story, but the 7th episode ruined it for me

Arent anyone going to speak about that John were up in the window at 657 for the new family when they were moving in? He were clearly still keep using his secret tunnel, he is living with the crazy lady and Jasper and goes under the tunnel to update them for all the new construction which is to be done. Rhen they speak about it in their club. Then they togheter make the watcher lettere togheter. as we remember John also had the watcher, and as said in the letters «it is now my turn» i belive the watcher goes on from person to person. John probably had an old one many years ago, and now he haa been for years and to everyone while hiding in the tunnel and at Jasper. And now Dean is obsessed and he wil like to join in also beeing the watcher.

Unanswered questions 1.Why was John graff living under the house? 2. Who was sending the letters 3. Was Mo, pearl and the other creeps part of some cult? Like wtf, the show was interesting but led to nothing but a cycle. Now Dean is going to be watching the house.

I binge watched the show and liked it. Not really scary like I thought it would be but was intriguing. Still many unanswered questions. Am curious if they’ll do a second season.

The John/William/Bill storyline is based on the John List family massacre of 1971 in guess where? Westfield, NJ. Fascinating true crime story for those who wish to look it up.

I think Nora also become the watcher as she too was at the house at the end and did say she would be back and watching. Also she made most of this happen with her talking to karen and telling her everything and believing what karen said over dean then as soon as she has money wants to devorce him what a horrible person.

Couldn't get past the first episode 😒

I believe the daughter Ellie could be the watcher. She was upset from the beginning and wanted to go back to her old school and missed her friends. The school teacher was her teacher too(her mother mentioned it to the detective) so she could have known about letters from her class and started doing this 'prank' with her parents mainly because of dad's restriction issues. jasper,pearl and john were behind other things like tunnels and murdered pets because Pearl had asked Jasper multiple times what he saw in the kitchen, basement etc. They use the tunnel to sneak into 697 to check what's going on. The girl found on Dean's bed could be Ellie too. She has all the information about what's going on in and around the house. She also sneaked from the house once without anyone noticing to meet Dakota for the first time. She was sitting on the stair to listen to her parents'and Dakota's talk when they found the bedroom's camera.

The family dog is the watcher.

I am watching Part 6 and becoming increasingly annoyed by the couple’s stupidity, especially the husband’s impulsive and emotional behavior, which causes him to squander every opportunity to uncover who “The Watcher” is. In a way, the actor therefore portrays the typical behavior of many US American males quite well. I was holding on to the series to find out the identity of „The Watcher“, but now that I know there is no answer at the end, I will stop watching.

I did not like the open ending at all

The realtor lady I'm only on the 3rd or 4th episode and I think she's the one behind it I don't trust her

The daughter is the Watcher. She stated at one point that she was someone who said and did things she later regretted when she was angry at people. The implication is that she/has engaged in this type of revenge fueled behavior more than once. This statement was made as she indirectly apologizes for calling her dad out as racist in her video.

Id go by elimination...that is eliminate all possible suspects muahahaha

The most sensible explanation for this show is that it’s a haunted house with a spooky spooky ghost in it.

Why does everything need a hollywood conclusion? If you looked into the real case off which it is based, you will see why it is unresolved and how genius they were to weave in local history ( family murder) and the various theories over the years including the fact that the real owner sent angry letters back to all the neighbours. They did a fantastic job with this one.
