This was one of the craziest experiences of my life. Kai and I decided to give it a go with almost zero expectations of getting anything good and this is what happened on our first wave.

Back in the day, I remember some legendary surfer say, "Most wipeouts in the tube are actually a Bail Out, it takes a long time before you can keep from bailing in the tube:, or something like that, Not sure who it was, maybe Hackman or Southerland. Awesome ride, Mad Respect for the Brothers!!!

@@chazmorex I surfed Pipe a lot back in the mid-70's. The best place to wipe out was in the tube. If you can just stay on your board as long as possible, you will just pop out the back. I've even pulled into back-door close-outs, to avoid all the shoulder-hoppers.

@@zachbroughe Bunker Spreckles? I knew Lyn Nicholson - who rode pipe on long boards, and then a fish. I used to catch aquarium fish with him... he died long ago on the B.I. - traffic accident.
