Thanks for sharing Mmrbeef. I bought my one and only 318 a year ago. I drove all the way from east Texas to Holgate, Ohio to pick her up. A whole 16 to 17 hour drive one way, i remember looking up the the dimensions and telling myself that i could fit it in the back of my pickup, a (1991 Toyota single cab pickup) to be exact. Well i got there and to my surprise it wouldn't fit with the mower deck on, however it would fit perfectly once i took the deck off. I remember being in awe at how big, bulky, and more robustly built it was compared to my old JD GT262. Anyway all that being said, to say thanks to you for sparking that fire in me about these little tractors, your passion for the 318 is infectious. So thank you once again sir, for your excellent, informative, and helpful videos, i wouldnt have done it without you. My first 318 makes for one hell of a story and i hope to pass it on to my boy one day.

Thank you for sharing. That's a beautiful machine. You've motivated me to restore my first JD, also a 318, from a parts tractor I bought for $150. It was a lot of work but it turned out great and I've since built a loader for it, all thanks to you and your videos.

Nice. Those were and still are great little garden tractors. Alot of folks got the bug with those,I did lol. Today I am a 4*5 nut. My wife says it is a sickness lol but I really can't help myself

The 318 I use has a battery that doesn’t fit, the side and hood is removed, it has the forward crawl, but the thing still runs and cuts like a dream hahaha. Love the steering. The seat isn’t even peeling on it which I’ve seen is pretty common

How many 318’s do you have. I really liked theNOS still in it’s original packing box. Such a cool find.

It's time to start a national or regional meet up of John deere 318s if there is not already, people love their 318s would be nice to show them off,,,had mine since new 1992 ..bought it twice ,once from the dealer then again from my X

Every once in a while instead of moving my lawn with my X 585 with a 62C or my Z445 with a 48c I will mow my entire lawn with my 86 318 with a 46" deck

The rear PTO alone is 1500.00

The 318 is probably the best garden tractor ever made. I never plan on selling mine. Even back when they were first produced in 1983, they were really an overbuilt machine.
