I think the point is "this timeline dies today, no matter what" so not just Zod, I think Dark Flash already deal with him, but Earth gets destroyed anyway due to some reasons. To make it simpler, imagine "saving this timeline" is an answer to a math equation that requires an infinite amount of steps/calculations to complete and ANY mistake will give you the wrong answer (destroy the timeline=try again), so let's say you try 100 times, get 100 correct calculations but make a mistake at the 101 one, then you re-try and get 101 correct but in order to do so, question 99 must be wrong, you go back and somehow managed to fix both 99 and 101 just to realize that 102 exists and you make another mistake, and this test has infinite questions/calculations and at some point, you just torn the test paper due to too many erases/pencil marks on your test, and that test paper is the multiverse itself in this case

There are so many moments where we needed an extra SECOND to see the characters come to a realization, figure something out, or make a decision. But we don't get that. They just go ahead and DO the next thing in the script, like they're in a hurry just to get the movie over with. There IS a really interesting story here about time travel and consequences, both internal and external. But the filmmaking does a disservice to that story.

When you say that Zod will "always catch him or kill kara before he can do anything," that just shows that the writers have zero braincells. Also, the movie is implying that Zod is just as fast as young Barry (his arms' movement and his brain's reaction matches young Barry's speed when the latter tries to stab him in the back)- which not only contradicts what older Barry said earlier, but also creates all sorts of other problems. The Flashes can travel at lightspeed- does this mean that Kryptonians can too? This damages Man of Steel in retrospect: why didn't Zod use this obscene superspeed in that movie? Does Superman, pre-Justice League rebirth, have this superspeed too? If so, why not use it against Doomsday? Does Doomsday have lightspeed level superspeed too? If so, why doesn't Doomsday instant K.O. Batman and Wonderwoman before those two can even blink? But even if we ignore all these glaring continuity issues and just handwave it all away by saying that, maybe, Zod in this universe is much stronger; this still leaves another huge problem. Older Barry isn't doing anything! If he distracts Zod, or uses that lightning move to stun Zod, or uses that cyclone move, WHILE young Barry runs up and stabs him, this is a guaranteed K.O.! Zod is not faster than Flash, he can't react to BOTH of them working together. Even if older Barry is braindead and insists on not doing anything, there is also the fact that Kara is part of the equation. Go back in time to a precise moment when Zod is preoccupied fighting Kara. STAB HIM THEN. Or go back further in time, inform Kara that they need to work together. Bam, Zod is now dead. It's utterly embarrasing that two speedsters, each of them perfectly capable of killing a Kryptonian, AND Supergirl, all working together, cannot kill Zod after presumably thousands of tries. This is bullshit.

So there really wasn't anything stopping Flash from grabbing another chunk of metal and shoving it into Zod's heart and Zod cannot fight back since again Flash can go intangible.

There was too much going on not to rely on CGI.

Time remnants. It could have been done. It was done by The Flash in the CW twice. First, he used it in his final battle against Zoom, calling out a past version of him who sacrificed for the sake of the multiverse. The second time is Barry creating multiple time remnants to fight one time remnant that escaped during Flashpoint (the time remnant that remained alive got hated by Team Flash because he wasn't the OG Flash and became Savitar, who went to kill Iris West and make Flash to become him in the Future). This is developed in seasons 2 and 3. Truly remarkable, as these seasons did what The Flash Movie couldn't do.

They were close to winning. Dark Flash even says this. He just needed a few more redos. Problem is, the multiverse was collapsing, which would have killed them all, including every single live action DC property. If the team had a week to prep for Zod, they would have won easily. Not initially no, and then Superman started ragdolling Feora not long after. The entire reason that Smallville fight took so long was because he was getting tagteamed. In this case here Barry's speed and actually having a quick decisive way to Kill Foara was the perfect counter.

Faora has all of Superman’s powers and she’s a warrior unlike Superman who’s a farmboy so she could easily counter all his moves. However she probably wasn’t used to Barry’s super speed.

Superman was not a killer(at least not at that point), and didnt use a blade This Flash is alternate and a young one too so he let his emotions get the better of him. Like bro, they killed all of those other Kryptonians.

Barry made a branch in his timeline, ,resulting in creating this version of 'Flashpoint'. He didn't live through this Flashpoint universe, he's a jumper from the DCEU. That's why there are 2 different Barrys. From there within the universe where the fight takes place, Younger Barry is continuing to loop back to a point where they left the chornosphere, making new branches in that universes' timeline. Basically, he's not thinking it through. DCEU Barry could have thought of this if he knew more about Time Travel, but he's clearly doesn't. CW Barry has a greater knowledge in the earlier seasons because narratively, his training has been accelerated by Harrison Wells and that's a huge aspect of season 1

If Ezra Miller wasn’t such an issue I think this movie would’ve done great. The way is filmed, the humor and the coming to terms with losing his mom cuz Barry really is still just a kid. No, if you actually watch the movie, before the final battle ever even began and before Barry 2.0 ever learned how to time travel; Barry 2.0 was very intentionally zoomed in on in the bat cave as he eavesdropped on Original Barry explaining to Keatan Batman that he broke time to save his dead mother. Barry 2.0 knew about the dead mother situation before he ever started looping.

Well for me it actually isn't cause flaspoint comics have one of the best story but this movie felt rushed too fast The story was too poor compared to its comic story, and for no reason they put Michael Keaton Batman beside for making money. Definitely like I would've loved this more if it was closer to the comic with thawne being the villan, but it definitely wasn't bad.I mean it has cgi of the early 2000s sure but get past that and Ezra and I think it's a solid 7.5/10. We got a great zod, two great batmen, a good supergirl, and some great fight scenes and moments. Some of the writing had some dumb lines, but so did the tv show, and way too many people give that show a pass and it's not really a good show at all

Really tragic when you think about it, Ezra is by all accounts a phenomenal actor and if they just didn’t give in to their worse impulse they could have been phenomenal. Was it even established that Kriptonian blades could hurt Kriptonians? That doesn't even make sense as someone that takes one blade can fight them back. Are you telling me that The Flash can kill Faora with that Savitar-like blade in less than 1 second but he can't kill all those Kriptonians because of fixed-point nonsense? This movie writing is mediocre at best but the way they handled the final act deserves to have people fired.
