Doyoung and Johnny even said they were not sure of their debuts and both were hesitating to give up in that time and that was even after Doyoung debut in 7 sense and still he wasn't sure. Imagine Hansol. I think he saw he couldn't debut in any SM groups and because he was already "old" for the standards of kpop, he didn't wait any longer and leave.

I mean not only Doyoung thats unsure about his future but Ten too since they both in NCT U but not in other permanent unit..luckily Ten is famous enough as another Thai kpop idol at that time that he was given solo stuffs..I believe SM have lots of ongoing plan and everything is not certain until final..

I think the most likely scenario being the original NCT China lineup being scrapped and they didn't have any concrete plans to place him anywhere. With him being among the oldest trainees, his best bet of debuting was to leave SM. If the Unit had actually worked out, he would've had a decent chance at establishing himself. He did debut eventually but he really lost a lot of the fan momentum he had by then.

I think this is what happened to SMROOKIES Shohei as well when they shuffled the lineup for RIIZE and NCT Japan (now NCT WISH)

I think UnB was doing pretty well, all the members had a previous fanbase or had established one during the show, honestly the company should've pushed for a fixed group instead of temporary

But tbh i'm a bit skeptical bc he was performing just fine and they let other members with severe backpains like taeyong and jaemin perform for YEARS without removing them from the lineup (their problem is from predebut). But yeah still with shohei it could hv been a really serious recent one we dont know.

@@superdol18I think I read somewhere about shohei injury from korean fans that he got a pretty bad knee and back injury and that SM probably would move him to the acting department in the future because of that. they said that continous dancing would be too much for his injury 🤷🏻‍♀️

Accept he was in the literal debut teaser for nct and was officially announced to debut. So he technically was * in * nct he just didnt make it to the official debut stage.

You’re not in a group until you debut. Anyone who knows NCT’s history will never forget Hansol, but he never was an official member.

Oh wait till yall hear about Yongju. he was one of the first SMRookies to be introduced but left earlier. Only real OG Czennies remembered him. During the china ban, he also went to participate in the Korea-China idol survival show Super Idol (yes with Wu Muti and Cai Xukun) constantly getting top ranking but eventually getting cut from the debut lineup bc of the tension escalating between SK and China (and some other rumor). Then he joined the program The Fan, and later released alot of OSTs for famous k-dramas. Most notable ones are Puzzle from the drama It's Okay Not to be Okay and the theme song for Sweet Home under the name Yongzoo. There's rumors that he didn't make the cut bc he sounded too similar to Taeil.

@@apollonnike OMIGOSHH YASS FINALLY SOMEONE REMEMBERED HIM! I followed his journey in Super Idol for awhile. He got a phenomenal voice! But sadly most of the clips of his performances are deleted now. I think he's not in the industry anymore, his official ig is mostly inactive now.

I suspect that when he didn’t make it into the lineup for NCT 127 in 2016 and 2017 he decided he had no future with the company. SM apparently didn’t stand in his way, and he wasn’t convinced to stay, like Doyoung convinced Johnny not to leave in 2016.

3:24 I remember when I saw this first time on Twitter, that's how news spread that someone in NCT screwed up big time and might be out of the group (and even the group got diciplinary action). However, at the time I think no one really believe that anyone from NCT (SM Rookies at the time) would be out from NCT debut group. Months later (or a year later, I think) when Hansol were the only one who withdrawal from the NCT debut group, even out from SM, a lot of people thinking it was him that was mention in that tweet, but until today no one could tell what really happened.

i wasn't an nctzen at that time but my sister was. she experienced everything from when hansol was still in SM. She thought that Hansol would debut after the 7th Sense but in the end, no sign of debut was seen. Though not debuting with NCT, they've shown interactions in the past, like NCT127 seeing Hansol again at a concert around 2018, and Hansol visiting Jungwoo's birthday live around 2021 or 2022. It warms my heart that they still keep in touch from time to time and same with Koeun, Hina, Lami and Herin! Koeun reposted a video/picture of when the four of them girls and NCT dream were in Club Mickey Mouse Korea back in 2022(?) I hope that they are able to interact more and wishing them the best of luck

here's my theory. i always say that the 7th sense members were the core members of the entire nct group. and you know why, i don't need to explain more. so, maybe, maybe it's true that doyoung was supposed to be in the china unit along with johnny and hansol, also ten, because then the distribution of the core members were equal now. taeyong and jaehyun in 127, mark in dream (which was supposed to be a temporary unit at the time), and doyoung and ten in china unit. and maybe the china unit was supposed to debut in 2016 as well, or at least a year later, not in 2019. because think about it, there's no reason for sm to actually delay ten and doyoung's debut (when ten was given several solo songs even before he was put in a unit). they were the core members. so, maybe it was all circumstancial. if we remember in the docu series on disney, johnny mentioned that he was close to going home and call it quits, but then doyoung begged him to stay. this makes me think that the time line was when the china unit got delayed, because it seems like it was only the two of them that were struggling. doyoung didn't mention hansol with them, but maybe he was together in this too, he just couldn't mention him. i think, if only hansol had waited, he would've been probably added to 127, instead of jungwoo. there's no reason for SM to not debut hansol this time, because he was the same age as taeil and he was running out of time. but maybe, it was too long for hansol to wait for another year. not to hate on jungwoo, but i think jungwoo was supposed to debut with the riize members like sungchan, seunghan, eunsok, and probably shohei too as the japan unit, because he trained with them, and not 127. and also because jungwoo was so awkward at first and he was so so so grateful to be with 127 when they had achieved what they'd achieved. he probably didn't expect to be put in nct, which as he himself said, was practically already a celebrity at the time when he was still a mere trainee. and also the whole winwin situation. there's no reason for sm to put winwin in 127, and then out of nowhere practically replace him with another trainee. maybe the plan was winwin was always supposed to be with 127. but when the china unit got screwed, they pulled winwin out to be with the china unit because now he already had a fanbase, and they needed to boost wayv because they were 3 years late now. and then they needed to fill in with another member, which i think could've been hansol, but because he left, then sm had to pluck from one of the trainees. so, yeah, perhaps, if only hansol waited a bit longer, we can see him shine with the nct that we know today 😢

Oh Hansol....our kkobuk kkobuk~ I remember how I'd watch the 1st season of NCT life over and over just to see him. I always hoped to see the day he would debut in NCT and it absolutely broke my heart when he left SM. I always adored his close friendship with Yuta. I even shipped Yusol a lot hahaha so many fond memories to look back at but I'm happy whenever I get to see him teaching dance classes and still moving forward doing what he loves most. You will always be a gem that SM lost, Ji Hansol! Live your dreams even without that company!

How could I ever forget Hansol😭? I was anticipating his debut. I remember thinking I saw him in a teaser for Limitless but it was either Jaehyun or Yuta that I saw. Then when I heard that he'd left SM I was so sad. He would've been my bias, alongside Jaehyun💔 But then he debuted in UNB and i was a fan if UNB.

Honestly I was sad they didn't bring Hansol to debut, he was great in newkidd and I LOVED him in UNB the uni+ was a great show all together! what hurt even more to me was how long they led kouen (and the rest of rhe girls in smrookies) on thinking they would debut one day, they gave her hope tell she was past the age that debuting was likely in another group 😢

I actually remembered watching him with NCT members in the pre-debut show NCT LIFE. He was actually one of the members that caught my attention so I was surprised to see him in the unit as a contestant. I was waiting for him to debut in NCT later just like the other members but he never did. Sad, he never got the chance to shine.

As a fan from 2014, he was really close with Yuta and Ten. They even had a trio name YuTenSol (which back then we were angry because SM broke them apart) and he was actually generally labeled as "Leader" by members. SM put him too front, back in the days so everyone thought SM saw him as golden trainee. He become dancer to Taemin and Lay during his absence from NCT tho. Right before leaving SM not during trainee days. He was even in the first season of NCT Life. This is why people were shocked to see him leave and not be a member of 127, SM LOVED Hansol people would be shocked they didn't actually promoted Taeyong as much as they did with Hansol. (Also people from SMR14 days would know, we had tons of trainees with our boys and poor Taeil waited to be an official member of SMR right before his debut even tho he was with SMRB touring and almost every fan knew him already for over two years lmao). Yeah also I would say there were tons of boys we knew who never got introduced as SMRB but they toured with SMRB but most consistent ones were Youngju and Taeil I would say they stayed in the tours I think till the end of it. Just before debut Younju left I even remember thinking "okay after two years we have Taeil as a SMRB so where is Youngju???" to see him leave right before NCT debut.

Finally someone speaking about hansol. He was one of my favorite SMrookies trainees & he would be a nice pick into nct 127. Why would SM ruin everything & not debuting him & and let him suffer 😢. Dam I really wanted new NCTzens to see how talented he is I'm not biased but pls stop taking those theories seriously. I don't think he is the kind that does any problems lol.

I will never understand people being so close to achieving something and then leaving, because that achievement isn’t happening fast enough or not sure it will occur. Maybe it’s just my personality, but if I was him I would’ve waited to see if they were gonna debut me, and then when it was OBVIOUS they wouldn’t then bounce. It’s not like his current career of being a dance instructor wouldn’t have been an option. Now he will always have the what if of “what if I had stayed a little bit longer”* *assuming that his scandal didn’t have him soft blocked from any debuts that he was aware of

The issue is age is a BIG factor in the idol world, if you wait too long you can lose your chance. Trainees can spend years & never make it to debut or get told they're next in the line-up & then younger more popular members join, they get pushed out. A big example is in SM itself. Koeun was a trainee for 9 years (since 2011), she was in SM Rookies, expected to be part of the next girl group. Karina, Ningning, Giselle, & Winter join the company 2016+ timeframe, in 2019 they're introduced as SM Rookies. 2020 Koeun leaves SM; Aespa debuts. She never says the reason, but the fact that she left the year the company was training a NEW gg for debut gives a lot of hints. Sadly by that time she was in her 20s(adult) past the age most companies would want a trainee(heck with New Jeans they want them even younger) so she had to give up her dream. Hansol could've felt the same way especially having to constantly watch young & newer trainees debut before him, Chenle was 15 & only trained for 2 months. He probably wanted to retry before he completely lost his chance. He wasn't wrong, he did finally debut, actually twice it's just sad that it was a group that got mistreated by their company & disbanded.

I think he was supposed to be the original chinese unit lineup along with Doyoung and Johnny then the plan scrapped because of THAAD and SM go for full chinese members group + Ten who still has chinese descent. He truly had no chance to debut with NCT when he wasn’t added to 127 the way Johnny and Doyoung did and he will be too old when SM want to debut a new group again.

i do think the reason was, bcs he got in trouble, well not a big one, it could be smth ridiculous, like, jaemin just said on a show with yoo jaesuk, he was ones kicked out, bcs he ordered hamburger, when he wasn’t supposed to 😀 then came back, but maybe hansol was never called back

Well the thumbnail is so wrong. Even though i love Hansol and wish the best of him. He was never in Nct. He was like many other just a trainee of Sm and was train alongside Exo & Nct members at that time.
