If you liked The Fugitive you might want to check out "Witness"(1985) Starring Harrison Ford. It is his only Oscar nomination. The flim is a murder mystery and study of the Amish Community. A beautiful film. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts.

The Fugitive was a tv show back in the 60's. When the series ended the finale was the most watched episode of all time until M.A.S.H. broke the record. This film adaptation was fantastic. One of Harrison's greatest films on a long list of great films.

This was HUGE when it came out. It was amazing on the big screen.

Most or all of the scenes outside of Chicago, were shot in and around my hometown in west NC, in the winter/spring of '93. I came home for Spring Break in March, and we got a very rare (for us) 14 inches of snow, which delayed filming for a week or more! If you freeze-frame just after Harrison Ford drives the Ambulance around the train gates, you can see my dad's red pickup parked on the street!

There is a sequel to this movie, it involves another fugitive but you get the same group of US Marshals and wouldn't you know it, the title is "US Marshals" it was made in 1998. Saw this in the theater as a kid. My father didn't care what my sister and I saw, and he really wanted to see the Fugitive so we saw it with him. Really good movie.

The movie is taken from an old TV show that ran for about four years in the 60s. There are several Harrison Ford movies you should check out. "Air Force One", "Witness", "Regarding Henry", "Patriot Games" (and its sequel "Clear and Present Danger"-these are from the Tom Clancy novels based on the Jack Ryan character (Hunt for Red October)). For comedies with Harrison Ford, check out "Six Days, Seven Nights" & "Working Girl". And don't forget the third Indiana Jones movie-The Last Crusade (it's the best one).

Someone probably answered this But the reason they killed Kimble's Wife: They ACTUALLY were aiming to kill Kimble (undoubtedly a 'Break-in gone wrong) but he was called in for that emergency scrub-in.(Nichols couldn't have known about that) When Kimble was arrested, it suited Devlin MacGregor just fine as the point was to have Kimble out of the way. Nichols wasn't bothered by Kimble's escape because he actually liked Kimble and it was only business and Nichols didn't think Kimble was a threat... Until Richard called and explained about finding Sykes. Thus the question: "Can you prove this about the drug?" When the answer was 'yes' Then Nichols had to have Sykes finish the job.

This is seriously one of my Top 5 thriller/suspense films of all time. Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones are so amazing in this film. I love the story, I love how the director builds suspense, I love how the film continuously builds on the belief that Kimble is innocent and how he is a good man who could never do what he was accused of. You never really know what is going to happen until the film ends. That is how a thriller/suspense should be. It needs to keep you on your toes, curious, and nervous, about what happens next.

29:40 Joe Pantoliano is one of the busiest bit-players in the business. He's one guy who's easy to recognize but never became a big name himself. Just off the top of my head, he can be seen in La Bamba, Eddie & The Cruisers, The Goonies, Memento, The Matrix, and in seasons 3 & 4 of The Sopranos.

Lots of trivia for this one. As others have stated this was based on 60 TV series of the same name. I believe it ran for 5 years and the final episode is when Dr. Kimble finally finds the one armed man. USA TV sets were glued to it as it was based on real life case of Cleveland Neurosurgeon Dr. Sam Sheppard who had been originally convicted of killing his wife but was innocent. Harrison Ford did a fine job but many love the USA Marshall played by Tommy Lee Jones. The fun trivia fact about Jones is his college roommate was Vice President Al Gore! Joey Pants who you enjoyed as Cosmo went on to co-star in Memento (great movie) as well as play important role in TV's The Sopranos.

The parade scene wasn't planned. It happened to be the St Patty's day parade and they had Ford and Jones go out into the actual crowd for those shots!

Whats kinda funny about these 90s movies set in Chicago is that they'd use real cops as extras. In my teen years a coworkers dad was a lieutenant in the burbs and he shows up a bunch in The Negotiator (1998) with Samuel L Jackson. Remember thinking her dad got to meet Jules from Pulp Fiction : P

A couple of quick recommendations...one for a lesser known Harrison Ford and the other for a very well known Tommy Lee Jones. When you have time, check out Regarding Henry from 1991, it is very emotional, but I have always found it to be a really good part for Ford. The Tommy Lee Jones movie you should definitely check out is Space Cowboys from 2000, also starring Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland and James Garner...it is also quite sentimental and also silly but a lot of fun. IMHO 💯✌

Loved how much you enjoyed The Fugitive, it is such a great movie (my wife and I saw it in the theatre 2 days before our first born son was born). I think a flick you should check out is the sequel called US Marshalls which follows the exploits of Samuel Gerrard (Tommy Lee Jones) and his team. It to will hook you in right away, plus hardly any reactors have reviewed it yet. Wesley Snipes and Robert Downey Jr. are in it too.

When it came out, The Fugitive was a bit of a meme before memes. Everyone knew the "It wasn't me! It was the one armed man!" quote. You'll see it referenced in various 90's comedies, and outright spoofed in the Leslie Nielsen parody Wrongfully Accused (1998).

Joe Pantoliano is a great character actor. The performances of all the roles in this were really amazing.

This as the first Harrison Ford movie I saw growing up!! Now considered to be one of the greatest action movies ever made. Tommy Lee Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as US Marshall Sam Gerrard. It was nominated for 5 Oscars including Best Picture but lost to Schindler's List Richard Dreyfuss Michael Douglas Tom Hanks John Travolta Bruce Willis Richard Gere and Arnold Schwarzenegger were considered for Kimble till Ford was cast. Jon Voight and Gene Hackman were considered for Gerard till Jones was cast.

I loved how the Tommy Lee Jones character basically reinvestigated the entire case with a mind toward actual justice, and when he found the truth, that superseded his orders, in his view.

Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar for his performance in this movie. He is a very good actor. Check out "The Package (1989)" and "No Country for Old Men (2007)." Joe Pantoliano is an underrated actor who like Tommy, can play a good guy, a bad guy, and can make you laugh. Check out the "Bad Boys" Trilogy and "The Matrix (1999)."

American Graffiti (1973) put Harrison Ford on the map. Star Wars (1977) turned him overnight into a giant star. Raiders of the Lost Ark/Indiana Jones (1981) cemented his place as the king of genre cinema. but The Fugitive (1993) is what made him the all-around most sought-after and highest-paid mainstream actor and leading man in Hollywood, for a short while. He's made some other really solid movies but if you've seen the above you've covered all of his best. Maybe also throw in Blade Runner or Witness. This movie also made Tommy Lee Jones into a big star for a while. Before this movie he only had bit parts mostly in small movies, but afterward he got cast in big blockbuster films like Batman Forever and Men in Black. Men in Black (the first one, 1997) is great, too, by the way. If you want to see more TLJ you should check that out. Or... if you want to see him in a really good more grounded role check him out in Heaven & Earth (1993) by Oliver Stone, about a Vietnam War vet who comes home with a pretty Vietnamese bride but they both have a hard time adjusting. The supporting actor that you said you like (Joe Pantoliano) never really made it big in Hollywood, he's always been a bit-part player. But he has been in some really good movies. His best roles in my opinion include "Teddy" in Christopher Nolan's Memento (2000) "Cypher" in the Wachowski Brothers' The Matrix (1999) and he also one of the Fratelli brothers in The Goonies (1985) all really great films

Harrison Ford was a carpenter by trade, he was working at a studio. the bosses were annoyed by the lack of acting skill in an employee. Harrison said, "I could do better." so they tested him... the rest is history. He often used to help out with set building on his movies. Scars are not uncommon in the trades. Are you interested in great movies from elsewhere as well? if so try "The Gods must be Crazy," 1 and 2. from africa. The plot was they tried to kill him, got his wife at home first, then waited for him to get home from saving lives, to stop him from exposing their fraudulent research. They were all okaying the release fully aware of the dangers, because they would get a hefty cut, before the drug got a lot of people killed and exposed as dangerous.

First watched this movie when I was 6 years old and I loved it. Had it on VHS at the time. 30 years old now and I just got it on blu-ray. Still watch it to this day.

If you want another chase thriller, check out North by Northwest (1959) directed by the Master of Suspense himself Alfred Hitchcock. North by Northwest is basically the archetype for all of the more modern chase thrillers like The Fugitive where an innocent man has to go on the run to clear his name. Another chase thriller with an espionage theme is Enemy of the State (1998).

I just realized that you know Tommy Lee Jones from "Captain America The First Avenger" where he plays the grumpy old Colonel Chester Phillips who is Cap's superior officer and doesn't believe in Cap at the beginning but later learns to appreciate him.

Joe "Pants" Pantaliano was also a main figure in "Midnight Run" with Robert DiNero and Charles Grodin. This one is also a comedic thriller classic.

You asked where he was getting his money. If you think about it. In 1993, credit/debit cards wasn't used near as much as they are now and people had a tendency to carry more physical cash on them. While the Doctor said that he just gave him a couple of bucks, what he had on him. For someone with his kind of salary, that could've easily been hundreds of dollars.

i loved this movie in theaters, that train derailment was great on the big screen.

Found this on-line: "Ford was working at a department store when he crashed his car into a telephone pole. At the time, cars didn't have airbags. This meant Ford's chin slammed into the steering wheel, cutting him deeply enough to leave a lasting scar. Ford feels like the story behind his scar isn't actually that interesting."

Harrison's chin scar occurred when he was putting on his seat belt , after already starting to drive , and wrecked.

Tommy Lee Jones won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal as US Marshall Samuel Gerrard in this movie. Jones is always golden in the movies that he is in. Superb actor.

for a very early role of tommy lee jones, check out coal miner’s daughter. it’s the award winning biopic of loretta lynn. sissy spacek deservedly won the oscar as loretta and tommy lee played her husband doolittle lynn. a supporting role, but it was one tommy could really stick his teeth into. fantastic movie! 😃

Also, not sure anyone mentioned this but I think they didn’t target his wife. I think Dr. Kimble was the target. Sykes was to break in & kill him or both of them and make it look like a home invasion gone wrong, but then Richard wasn’t at home because he’d been called in on that emergency surgery. So it was “bad timing” that she was home alone.

It’s based on a TV series from the early 60s which was extremely popular and starred David Janssen. Janssen played Dr Kimble and basically spent the entire series being hunted until the series finale. By the time this movie came out many people were unaware the show ever existed.

Really great thriller one of the best. No body plays the common man better than Harrison Ford. :) There is a spin off to this Us Marshals which is decent. You should watch is other more serious movies like Frantic, The Jack Ryan Movies and Air Force One. Also I highly recommend The Count Of Monte Cristo 2002.

I saw this one in the theater after eating fast food with a buddy. We both drank giant drinks with dinner and we both had to pee so bad. We didn't want to miss any plot points, so we just rocked in the seats till the credits rolled.

You had seen Joe Pantoliano before in the Goonies. He was the younger of the Fratelli brothers (bad guys). I know you've also watched The Matrix since you watched this (I haven't watched your reaction yet) and he is Cypher (the traitor) in that.

This probably won't get a ton of votes but Cellular starring Chris Evans with Jason Statham and William H Macy (who is amazing in everything btw). It's from 2004 so when cell.phones and smart phones were just becoming common and this bro dude frat boy gets connected to this woman who has been kidnapped, she doesn't know where she is and if the call drops she's as good as dead and he's trying to get her help. Literally edge of my seat the entire movie. Such a fun movie to watch.

In my opinion this is Tommy Lee Jones’ best role. Very close second would be Men In Black. But he is so upstaged by Will Smith in that movie that it makes it tough.

I think you should check out Galaxy Quest. It stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman. It's a comedy about the stars of an old Star Trek-type show. The actors are mistaken by aliens to be the characters and the sTV series is historical documents and want their help. It's movie was 1999, I think

Killing his wife could be a good way to get rid of him without drawing attention to themselves. If they kill him directly than the police would investigate his friends and colleagues. They would try to find out why he was killed and might uncover in what shady acivities he was "involved" in.

Havent seen many other movies from Harrison Ford then indiana jones, this one was definitely fun to watch ty 🙂
