I love Control’s story, and I did basically everything in that game, including beating the extraction raid mode.

I find their storytelling as deep as a puddle. AW1 and AW2 are pretty awful games imo. They should've just made some movies instead.

@@Kris-wo4pj Honestly Starfield is 3 month post launch player retention rate is equal to Elden Ring. It's holding its players well, especially considering its had no really major patch yet. People can trash talk on the internet all they want, but End of the Day the industry cares much more about Data/Metrics than anything else. People say all sorts of things, but its what they DO that matters.

​​@@Ralathar44lmao just looked it up on SteamDB, it went from 330k players at release to 13k players right now. It's totally tanked. Elden Ring's lowest count is in the mid-30k range, and BG3 has never dropped below 100k since release.

The overall barebones plot is really good, classic anyways. They put a weird japanese spin on it but you know, that's JRPGs for you lol. I really loved Radiata Story and Infinite Undiscovery for that classic fairy tail vibe too.

I'm pretty sure this is a big deciding factor in how people feel about Starfield: did you go out of your way to buy it, or did you happen to have access to it through Game Pass. I bought it through Game Pass, so I never really experienced "buyer's remorse", nor did I feel the need to force myself to play it to try to get my "money's worth". I played it for a while and had fun, and then I stopped playing it once I started to get bored.

For a game that reviewed well it is pretty mid. I had a decent time with the story but there's so much garbage filler content and outside of Sebastian there wasn't a single compelling story. The combat is pretty good but I was done with it by the end of the main story.

@@adams3627 Bro... No. Just No. Cyberpunk 2077 is the one of the best game I played this year with the 2.1 and Phantom Liberty. I love this game. But fixing unfinished game should not be awarded. Game supposed the be complete when it's purchased and fixing the game is something dev team supposed to do. It should not be normalized.

​@@hododod246the problem is not the DLC being fantastic. It was apparently counted as an ongoing game just because it had DLC this year which is a flimsy excuse. With that you can say RE4 Remake is an ongoing game because it had Separate Ways.

I think the concept of a magic based FPS has a lot of potential. I just didn't particularly enjoy the execution. It's better than the new CoD though, so that's not nothing.

What's even funnier is that its got this huge stink about it online while Elden Ring and Armored Core 6 were both super praised. But if you look at actual player retention Starfield and Elden Ring 3 months post release both have near identical player retention (~10%) and Armored Core 6's playerbase fell off a cliff. (less than 3%). Its like how people trash talked Cyberpunk for 3 years straight...but the playerbase for that game has always been top 50 of steam...incredibly solid. This is the modern era. Online discussion means little and online reviews for any divisive game are oft misleading. Data/Metrics tell the ACTUAL story.

When people say this they mean "worst high profile game" and basically all high profile games are 5/10 or higher. Most people have zero idea what an actual bad game looks like.
