Fun fact: Strawberries are actually poisonous (but not strong enough to harm humans), via the yellow bits all around it, so his design may possibly have eluded to the nature of his Stand, as the poison isn't part of Fugo himself, hence the holes, but is instead represented in his Stand, although the poison is much stronger, possibly because of it also embodying Fugo's rage

Thank you for gathering so many data, I wasn't aware of a couple of details. Having translated PHF for my local community I ended up feeling a very strong tie with Fugo, similar to what Buccellati must have felt with him after he decided to give Fugo a second chance. And it brings tears to my eyes that fans are now starting to give Fugo a second chance as well for understanding and forgiveness, since he has been largely and cruelly misunderstood by Western audiences.

With the 2 light novels taken into account Fugo is probably my favorite character in all of Jojo

2 years later come back to my favourite analysis of my favourite JoJo character. GLORIOUS

I genuinely love any time you speak about Fugo, not only did it make me love him, and make his stand my second favorite in all jojo (crimson is first by a slight margin), but it also finally made me bite the bullet and read the manga, at least from where it hasn't been adapted to anime, and made part 5 my favorite part. Thank you Meti, for giving me the push to actually read and find such an amazing story, in a story I thought I couldn't love any more than I already did.

In Italian we don't really use the word "fugo" that much,we rarely use it as part of complex words (and in that case means "Move away from") I'm pretty sure that his name comes from "Fungo", that means "Mushroom". That can explain his stand + his original colors (red and white)

I always felt so frustrated that Fugo didn't receive as much backstory in the original VA manga as the other characters. Seems like all I was told about him was "he was a gifted student... then he fucked his entire life up because he has a shit personality" and that was pretty much it. And it was frustrating given how his Stand was supposed to be a crude representation of his personality and that little bit of information about his past just wasn't enough. I didn't know Araki expanded on his backstory so much. I usually don't care about any of the novels because more often than not they're not canon, but if Araki bothered so much with Fugo then I should really check those out.Also... 6:53 I chuckled with that scene from A Hat in Time when you mentioned Fugo's grandmother.

I'm actually furious that there are no physical copies of an English translation of Purple Haze Feedback and Golden Heart Golden Ring, because these two stories are amazing, the only thing that could've made it better, is if Fugo *did* betray his gang during pt 5, but I'm fine that Araki couldn't do it, I'd take Araki's mental health over a JoJo plot point any day.

Although I haven’t read Golden Heart, Golden Ring, with this video and some research, I actually understood the general story of the novel, and I really want an OVA for it after the Golden Wind anime is finished airing. It would make sense, because unlike Purple Haze Feedback, it’s written (partially) by Araki and it even shows Fugo‘s side after he leaves his friends in Venice.
