Batman is gay for friend-zoning Zatanna

Ya never liked them together, now night wing and zatanna, that would be bad ass.

From what I understand canonically they have reasons to not like each other. In the comics Zatanna is a lot more....manipulative and has some questionable tactics. (Using her magic to preform memory wipes on people.) And Batman has been very outspoken on his dislike of this practice. However, in the comics they have started to get a long more. Them not getting together was, at the time most of these aired, to reflect there rocky relationship in the comics.

Actually JLD has been dragging her character down. Her role in the team is pretty much that of the early redshirt who fights the threat alone and cannot beat it because her magic won't work of them and she gets taken out early while Constantine does his work and the rest of the team talk about their problem. The series is actually quite terrible but it's the best characters like Xanadu or Deadman will ever get. As much shit as Marvel gets at least they get their minor characters some development, at this point Constantine is magical Batman...

You probably know this already, but she'll be in the Justice League Dark movie. Maybe she'll get better character development in there.

Harley Quinn Oh, you meant animated movie... Yeah, sorry, no chance. They'll wank Constantine to no end, I really don't even feel hyped for it at all. Animated movies aim to wank characters that make money: Batman, Superman... Just look at how Damian made fools of the whole Justice League and Teen Titans in the JL vs TT animated movies. Batgirl and Batwoman have never been depicted as competent crimefighters and have always just been there to obsess over Batman and play the "notice me senpai" card. The animated movies are good but they do a poor job of showing off lesser known characters.

Foxmagik For me a lot of the times their powers and personalities are to vague and stoic for my liking I mean for example if you told me to describe almost any X-mans mutant power was and how it works I could tell you but you tell me on what power level the scarlet witch is on? I would have no idea I know she is powerful but I have no idea on what range her powers are... then you have someone like Dr Fate or Dr Strange who I always found to calm and stoic for me to relate to them and once again since their powers are magic I never know what they can and can't do as unlike science there are no limits on magic unless you make them yourself... Zatana on the other hand is so much fun she is a jokester and loves putting on a show, her powers might be vague to but with her needing to speek in order to use her spells that gives her a weekness so she doesn't feel all powerful in a book where batman wrote down all the ways he would need to take down the members of the justice league if he ever needed to he says that if you hit her in the neck hard enough you could stop her from casting spells and in a fight with deathstroke he hit her in a spot that made her puke for a while to stop her from casting spells... so she is likable and not all powerful to the point where her powers are unknown which is why I really like Zatana

I like non-magic Zatanna better but she is an interesting magical character.

Lacey Chabert voice her in YJ, no reason she couldn't play her in a movie.

Nick Dwyer Here's the key thing. A real life version of Zatanna. Young Justice had the best "animated" version of Zatanna that existed, but the "Smallville" version of Zatanna was live-action and done perfectly which made it feel like it was soooo real! It felt like an actual real life version of Zatanna. Like you were actually there dreaming about her. Which is why she was my favorite. The actor who played Zatanna on Smallville did an excellent job. I'd rather have crushes on real women playing as comic book characters than cartoon characters personally, even though cartoon versions of comic book characters (like Zatanna) can be really great too.

Michael Joesph I never said Justice League's Zatanna was better than Young Justice's Zatanna. I originally said that Smallville's version of Zatanna was the best of all because she felt soooo real. Although, Young Justice's Zatanna in 2016 (or season 2) could easily compete with Justice League's Zatanna.

+HALO20601 it would definitely work on Flash since in the comics pre-New 52 Barry Allen and Zatanna were in a brief romantic relationship so in Flash Zatanna could be someone Barry could relate to living a double life and I think it would be too soon if Barry hooked up with Iris so soon after Eddy's death

i think, in canon, she's had a fling with Bats (like every other DC chick tbh) but never with Dick. It was only in Young Justice that they paired her with Robin since they made her a LOT younger in the show. In canon she's older than Dick but a bit younger than Bruce, if you know what I mean (mid-late 20s)
