You might have seen a video, or read an article about ‘The Great Wealth Transfer’, where trillions of dollars of generational wealth is about to be handed down to younger generations
While that is an important topic, it’s not only wealth transfer that’s been happening.
And if you ask Ray Dalio, who is in my view the greatest macroeconomist of all time, there’s a much more important wealth transfer going on behind the scenes.
One that far less people seem to understand.
Rather than a shift in money from baby boomers to millennials, this is a transfer of wealth from public institutions to private ones.
A transfer so severe that it’s likely to have ripple effects across American households for decades.
So let me take you down the river of understanding the great wealth transfer that Ray Dalio believes will define the next century.
The great wealth transfer, that nobody is talking about.

I can’t focus on the long run when I should be retiring in 3years, you see I’ve got good companies in my portfolio and a good amount invested, but my profit has been stalling, does it mean this recession/unstable market doesn’t provide any calculated risk opportunities to make profit?

Initially disheartened by downtrends in early 2019, I sold off, but after reentering in December 2020 with guidance from an advsor recommended by a renowned economist on a subreddit, I've now accumulated over $850k in gains over the past two years.

My brother in Christ, Houshould debt rose 16 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2023 alone. Consumers are legitimately being crushed by inflation and are putting all that shit on credit cards. Those stimulus checks ran out a long time ago, and when student loan repayments start back up, I can’t even imagine how much worse it will become.

I do agree with you. Most households used their stimulus checks on food, paying bills, or buying useless stuff. I know a person who used it to buy a gaming PC. IF people were investing this money into something that would bring them more money in the long run, then we might talk about wealth transfer....but in reality, most people are doomed :(

The one thing you are not understanding, is the Federal Reserve, is NOT the U.S. government nor own by the U.S. Gov't. It actually was put together by the largest banks in the country to regulate and control all the other banks in the country, to keep them stabilized and to regulate what they can and can not due. It's also a way for banks to borrow money, by using the Fed to leverage the U.S. Treasury for gov't money to led to such banks through this established banking clearing house. You really need to go down that rabbit hole to see how it was developed and who orchestrated it (i.e., the Rockefellers', Rothschilds and the other banking moguls, back in the 1800's and early 1900's) and sold the idea to the U.S. government so the gov't wouldn't have to deal with so many banks, but rather just one source (the Fed) and therefore the Fed can set policies to those banks.

I think some constructive feedback .. you may want to borrow from the format/structure of Economics Explained where he inserts a set of 2 - 4 key objectives/questions the video will land on . then focuses each part in each of these.. then has (in some cases) a closing aspect (like putting a country on the leaderboard) .. I like your content but sometime get a bit lost with the key takeouts for me either from the video itself (learning) or what I might want to consider (action) .. hope this feedback is useful

Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however, I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-- lots of years. Isn’t credit easing theory that they are pulling in? No other thing explains why the financial crisis is not here yet. Thanks for the videos - very good content.

6:00 its not complicated. its called printing money. they dont literally turn on a printer, they borrow money from themselves. this causes supply of money going up, and demand down, aka inflation. the secret tax on the poor

Right off the start you are wrong. The Federal Reserve is a private Corporation not a Government institution.

Not quite right. It is independent within the government but NOT independent FROM the government. Federal Reserve act can be abolished at any time by congress and the fed can be nationalized - this is their nightmare.

Dalio is not a macro economist. He is not even an economist. He made a fortune based on his employees understanding of trading not hi own. The fact he uses history to predict something will go wrong is sad bad and pathetic. We've been hearing from him for years that china would overtake America - err nooooo! No no no no no no no no......what a total fool he makes of himself every time he even thinks macro.

There is another wealth transfer that needs a light cast on it - it is the one where company execs without any stock in the business continually raise money from a new cohort of investors to keep paying themselves salaries and keep loss making businesses operating - I am discussing the 70% of ASX companies that lose money each.
