I feel like almost everyone who decides to read any of Fujimoto's work ends up getting this crazy adrenaline rush, and you end up speed-reading it all in the span of a few days. also I can never look at Santa Claus the same ever again after Chainsaw Man.

Fujimoto making pure KINO as always...I really recommend Look Back and Goodbye Eri if you havent read them yet. At under 200 pages each, its not a long read, but you will see the themes are also pretty clear. The man might be unpredictable, but he does orbit around some particular topics more than others...

I finished reading Fire Punch today ….. and believe me it was a TOTAL RIDE OF EMOTIONS reading this was almost painful, i’m mostly traumatized and actually really sad BUTTTTTTT it was a great freaking manga ngl I’d recommend this manga for crazy ppl like me that like being an emotional masochist.

i think the name agni is based on the sanskrit word agni which means fire and the name of the manga is firepunch so i think the name draws inspiration from there which is very cool to see as indian culture isn't that mainstream globally.

i finished this manga today itself and just. oh my god. oh my _god_ this series is insane. genuinely just insane like csm is cool and outside the norm and all but fire punch shook me like what even WAS that manga what even was that ending.

Yeah same happened to me. Finished part 1 of CSM and while part 2 accumulated some chapters, I read Fire Punch. Nowadays idk if I have recovered from the psycological scars it gave me as I read the thing, but I'm definitely a little crazier than before. So that's that. Can't say I recommend it, cuz it felt like a fever dream, but I can't say it was bad, cuz it felt like a fever dream. Just go read it.

If Mappa can get Takeshi Koike to direct it I think an FP adaptation could be feasible, he's really good at handling motion (also if they adapt it as a series of movies that would be even better, for the animators and for how fitting it would be)

Yea, when the first episode of chainsawman came i watched it and was interested in manga so i watched a video, where the narrator recommended this piece of fiction and i consumed it. I would say that its one of my favorites.

I think it's safe from spoilers, but this can give you idea just how impressive this story really is. It will give you idea what this story is really all about. And trust me, that's not something easy to explain, not even remotely. This is a story about love that passes through space and time, ignoring the established norms of morality and foundations of society. This is a story about the search for oneself, the search for the meaning of continuing to live. At the very beginning of story, Agni was ready to accept death in this world. Such fate seemed as best reward to him, a more suited reward than any other. He just didn't wanted to live.. Only his sister Luna gave him a reason to continue living. She died and he continued to live only for her sake, not for himself. Because she asked him to keep on living. He kept asking himself why she said these words to him, because he did not want to continue living himself, but he felt that if he had given up life, he would have betrayed her life. It wasn't some evil irony, it wasn't some evil tragedy or comedy when he heard these words again, but it was love which returned back to Agni despite all his hardships and suffering. It will be only towards the end of the story when you will be able to realize that Agni was not only a name associated with fire, but was also a name associated with agony (Agni-Agony/agonize). There were many dark moments in this story, there was comedy and peace, there was tragedy and pain, but the main thing is that throughout the story, the love of the people Agni cared about most, and who cared about him - again and again kindled the fire of his life. And in the end it was not a story about the manipulative power of religion, or about shades of good and evil, it was not a story about cycles of hatred and high social matters even when at first it really seemed like that was the case. All this was just the background of the central idea. That you need to continue to live for the sake of your loved ones no matter what. That Agni's life was full of shit, yet no matter what, he continued to move towards a glimmer of hope, continued to move forward. Continued to live. LIVE! This is an intensely dark, tragic and beautiful story of love. Best you've ever seen, yes - seen. Because it's more of a movie than it is a manga. Imagine Berserk, but it's actually finished and good. And is only 83 Chapters long. How is that even possible to accomplish entire story in such a short period of time? Agni just said FIRE PUNCH and then he FIRE PUNCHed everybody. Now you go and read it.

I just finished reading FirePunch. I bought all the volumes. Your complaint of the action being meh or forgettable is valid, but it certainly doesn’t help that there aren’t a lot of fights. There’s some cool fights like Agni vs Prison Squad (magnet man, and a dude in a robot suit), that was pretty dope. But the fight between the Masked Man and Agni is cut short with a “jump cut” to the end result, which I thought was disappointing because the panel before that was Agni getting ready and Masked Man generating a full set of iron armor. A lot of action has parts where Agni literally blacks out and goes berserk, only showing the destruction he caused. An anime adaption could fix these issues but I don’t think we’ll be getting an adaptation of FirePunch anytime soon. One can dream

WARNING: COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS the funny thing is I never realised that Chainsaw man and Firepunch were created by the same author! and now thanks to this video everything clicks so well! :O I feel like my mind is blown! Both are such good series! My only main complaint would be the length of the manga. Some elements of the world could be explored more, like the functioning of Behemdolg. I mean, we do get the section where Sun in locked up with other blessed and is used to harvest electricity but then it seems like he is rescued almost instantly. I guess Im talking about the pacing of some of the story bits (another example being the agni cult; we get to see how they eat agni's chopped up face to stay alive but then Yuda becomes a tree and almost everyone dies; the cool guy with the bat, the english speaking lady...I guess it's a complement at the same time how big of an impression they made with little time they had in the manga). But I won't hold it against Fujimoto (I will remember his name from now on!) since it's only 8 volumes. I can only imagine how long it takes to create such a project so I'm glad it exists either way :)

When i realized what Fire Punch is really about i was in awe for days. It started of as a post apocalyptic type of story, then it turned into a revenge story, a battle shonen with comedy and ended philosophically. With all the twist and turn you can easily get lost of what its really about. Fire punch is not a story about Nihilism, its about hope. For a manga this dark to have that kind of message at the end is just genius writing. The world of Fire Punch is what a depressed persons mind looks like. Its cold, lonesome, confusing and hopeless. But theres always that fire in your heart that will never stop burning, you just have to find it and own it. Such a masterpiece. Fire Punch will always be my favorite manga ever

It wouldn't have been for csm getting an adaptation, me reading it before anime release and love every tatsuki fugimoto has made, that being all the one shots on shonen jump, I gave fp a try and it's my favourite depressing manga. Also that ending is kinda crazy

I started with Firepunch(when it was a new thing) and then I got to Chainsaw Man, because I loved the authors style.

This was the fastest manga I read from start to finish. Never had a oiece of media make me feel this level of empty. The crazy insanity is just the sugar on top. But every bite just leads you to deeper nothingness in an artsy fartsy kind of way, not the empty garbage some forms of "art" are nowadays.

Fire Punch looks insane

I have never even heard of fire punch yet i somehow developed a webcomic with a almost scary amount of similaritys in the world building and also with a protagonist with a sister tries to save his sister even though its near impossible to do Wtf

They could never adapt it into anime. What happens to the people, children and woman especially in this manga, as well as lots of its themes wont roll with the usual anime watcher. Its a pretty nieche concept of a story. You either fall in love or turn away after his sister wants to bang him / he describes how much it hurts to be on fire for 2-3 pages, while killing everything as violent as possible.

(Btw reading all of it just made me create a odd little short story where San and Luna come across some portal rip in the void they just go through and drift through space a bit before somehow crash landing onto a livable plant that they both managed to survive and live in then they make kids that make their own children with themselves without the inbreed problem and millions upon millions of years passes as their great+ grandchildren through the millions of years create a religion where San and Luna are known to be the first humans/ are the Adam and Eve to their world thus making San and Luna become the alternate first humans of the alternate version of Christianity.)
