My hot take? We've never seen the actual stands of the main characters in part 7. Maybe Johnny, but definitely not act 4. How stands work in part 7 is the corpse parts lend their respective guardian to the wielder either as long as they hold on to it or if the stand has acclimated to them. But this doesn't mean it draws out their latent stand. Tusk isn't Johnny's stand, it is the stand of the hand. Johnny's real stand was being able to spin his nails, but tusk unlocked the ability to shoot them. Some corpse parts act as amplifiers rather than new abilities. The biggest offender of "no stand" is gyro. We never got to see his stand in the entire part. The two we saw him with were Scan (the eye guardian) and ball breaker, except neither are actually his. Scan was a guardian, obviously, and ball breaker was just the stand of the steel ball brought to life by the golden rectangle. Gyro can't control ball breaker like Johnny can control Tusk act 4, he just has ball breaker do its thing. Also, if anyone is planning on fighting me on the validity of this just remember we have cold hard evidence right in front of us with Diego, where in the base universe he gained scary monsters thanks to the eye, but in another universe he never got the eye and instead gained the world.
