Great picks! 85 definitely has a lot of great metal classics (Exodus- Bonded By Blood, Accept - Metal Heart etc.). When it comes to hair metal, I have a list of honorable mentions: King Kobra - Ready to Strike ("Hunger" is such a classic), Rough Cutt - S/T, Helix- Long Way to Heaven, Billy The Kid - Sworn to Fun, Adam Bomb- Fatal Attraction, Hanover Fist- S/T, Treat - Scratch and Bite, London - Non-Stop Rock, Mama's Boys - Power and Passion, Autograph - That's the Stuff, and Dagger - Not Afraid of the Night

Damn, dude, you always have suggestions that have passed me by... which is awesome. Never heard of Billy the Kid. Have heard of Hanover Fist, but can't remember listening to them. Been a long time on Adam Bomb as well. Never really spent much time with Exodus, but I am kinda getting into 80s thrash lately. Gonna check out some of these albums soon, Brother, and thanks again for all you do for the channel, my man!

01. AC/DC - Fly On The Wall (my personal favorite Johnson era album) 02. Dokken - Under Lock And Key 03. Fastway - All Fired Up 04. Mike & The Mechanics - s/t (and you thought you had to worry. Yeah, it's pop but I love the album) 05. Power Station - s/t (another poppy one, but I love it. Certainly made me view Andy Taylor in a new light particularly on their cover of T. Rex's "Get It On") 06. John Cougar - Scarecrow 07. Phenomena - Phenomena (more of a project than a band. If you like Glen Hughes, then you might like it. I think there's 4 or Phenomena albums but this one imo is the only one worth it) 08. Triumph - Thunder Seven 09. Motley Crue - Theatre Of Pain 10. Ratt - Invasion Of Your Privacy

I’m probably all alone here but 7800 degrees Fahrenheit is by far my favorite album of 1985. I still listen to that album a lot. Can’t believe Jon hates that album. I was a huge Jovi fan through the 80’s and 90’s. I noticed they completely changed when they released the crush album but I still enjoyed it for what it was. I didn’t like the direction Jon went after that but I still like some song of their Have a nice day album but I was completely disappointed after that. With all that said I love all that you are doing with your channel Guru. Good stuff brother 🤘🏼

STREETS 1985 "Crimes in Mind" Any of these songs could have been on an 80s movie soundtrack Mike Slamer (Guitarist on Warrant albums) and Steve Walsh from the band Kansas, produced by Beau Hill. Gotta listen to it over a few times because ITS SO 80s! The sound is like (1984 Van Halen), Survivor, and Ratt mixed together. Dont Look back, The nightmare begins, Broken glass, Crimes in mind and I cant wait, all good songs!

Ok, It might not be related with the topic as they did not release an album in 1985 anyway you talked less about Great White, Jack Russell one of the great voice and Mark Kendall one of the top (?) under rated guitarist of all time and i think they deserve a whole video, dedicated to Great White, not less than an hour long someday, i'll wait and i'm sure you had a lot to talk about them. Not only do you have to listen to it, but you also have to listen to it in context. Night of the Crime hit my cassette player the same time Dokkens Under Lock and Key did. Dokken had two songs that pushed them forward big time It's Not Love and The Hunter. There were other great songs on the record but they were the ones that got videos and radio play. Night of the Crime was filled with possible video and radio hits. Had Steven Clifford not left the band weeks before the records release Capitol Records was going to give them a big push. Fun fact the songs for A More Perfect Union & Right Between the Eyes were fleshed out in the same rehearsal space as Dokkens Dream Warriors.

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on a couple of new songs. The first is Def Leppard's Just Like '73. I have to say, I really(really) like it a lot. It's a total throwback and nod to the early 70's glam scene. I have listened to it so many times already, including a couple of live versions, and haven't started to get tired of it yet. And, I really think the Tom Morello part works without being gimmicky. I don't know if it's the popular or unpopular opinion, but I love this song and find it stuck in my head quite a bit. The 2nd song is End of Days by Stryper. I love this song, too. It's heavy, like almost Maiden heavy, and also really melodic and catchy. And Michael Sweet belts out a couple pretty awesome screams. And, speaking of the 70's glam scene, a new song/video popped up on my KZfaq the other day. It is Burning Like a Falling Star by Sweet. I did a quick Google search to verify--yes, that Sweet(albeit with only one original member). I like some Sweet songs, but am not too familiar with most of their catalog. I'm a little iffy-er on this one. It's kinda catchy, though(and growing on me a little after a few listens). It's a bit more serious(and dire) than the old Sweet songs I'm familiar with. And there's a guitar riff in it that really reminds me of Vaseline by Stone Temple Pilots. Anyway, keep up the good work and keep rocking!
@HairMetalGuru419
@HairMetalGuru419 11 күн бұрын
Hey, Sean, I've listened to all of the songs... the Sweet one only once. I definitely need to get back to do more reaction videos... especially the new Leppard song. Thanks for the recommendation... I'll get on it here shortly. Appreciate your support!

Love Loudness! Thunder in the East is the first English album they put out. These bands who aren’t “hair metal” are usually AOR bands that hair metal fans tend to like. It’s funny though if you bought any “hair metal” compilation cds in the 90’s/early 00’s they all had Sister Christian and all these other borderline bands all over them. It’s not like you put Kenny rogers on the list 😂😂😂😂😂

I think the reason why AC/DC always has top selling albums is because it is never uncool to like AC/DC. Some people might say, “ that’snot hair Metal “ but nobody will say AC/DC isn’t cool. Best they can just say that’s not really for me. No one is ever embarrassed to be an AC/DC fan. Something that I think you can’t really say about most other bands.
