I am so glad the police escorts in the early days of the series after the robbery did not become a constant thing. It would have completely stifled their experience and probably our enjoyment of watching them as well.

Really? I don't notice too much of a difference. They didn't even have any effects in this one that I could tell? But I watch so much stuff that it has literally been thousands of videos since I saw the first episode of this. Only thing I know: out of everything I watch, this has constantly been the one thing that I often cannot understand a word of for long stretches at a time...

Have you guys tried filming more spontaneously? just when the boys are driving in the van or when Gus goes on his sidequests or even just Russ vlogging randomly when hes running would be cool

Seconded. The episodes when the van was being shipped around Nigeria and so Russ & Guus had to vlog a bit were my personal favourites of the whole mission! It was nice and all getting the proper editing back once everyone was reunited but the episodes definitely lost some spontaneity and personal touch.

@@Seamalicous Fair enough, that makes sense. I also realise Russ doesn't like filming while he's running anyway, but any way they could work a little more of that in, even just a brief little segment every episode or two, would be cool.

8:43 is it weird that I really like when they forget to record the most important parts of the video? Somehow it feels incredibly authentic. It's the opposite of the philosophy of most media - where you have a camera man whose job it is to keep the camera rolling no matter what. Sick children? Get it on camera. People getting injured? Keep the camera rolling. It feels much more human to me that the camera man puts down the camera to help.

I really rate Russ encouraging adventures for those less able to fund them. Last October I took my son to wild-camp by some castle ruins near where we live. We had a lot of equipment already from festivals. We don't drive so it was a train and a hike. We arrived at sunset and Finn got to explore the castle in the morning. Someone slipped a fiver in our tent whilst we slept so the entire excursion cost us nearly nothing! I am looking forward to more trips like that this year. The school can't keep him seated and I'm never going to tell him HE'S wrong in this.

I don’t even think the accent was a problem, but more the audio itself. No one wearing microphones (of course), background noises etc… I didn’t have any problems understanding the ‚storytelling‘.
