Ordered mine from the hapstone USA site yesterday and shipped today! Their USA site ships from their warehouse in New Jersey and shipping times are way better. The ETA on the tracking is Friday for me and I just ordered it yesterday. My KME stones wore out recently after about a year and I almost just ordered atoma 4inch replacement stones but figured for 199 I'd just get the hapstone rs and have way way more stone options. I ended up going with the hapstone premium diamond set for mine. Can't wait till it gets here. The KME was amazing and produced a crazy sharp edge I was just disappointed in the lack of longevity Their stones came with

The two rings that hold the vertical rod in the back were loose during your video, I'm sure you noticed by now but thought I would mention it in case you hadn't. I took some pliers and taped the jaws and cranked the bottom ring with the gnurling tight so it wont wiggle loose on me.

Heck yeah . I ve had one since November and sharpened about a 100 knives with it . Used diamonds , used Venev . I didn’t mirror every edge and most ended with a 400-600 grit , that Venev 80/100 and 40/50 micron can do it all imho . First time I ever used a strop on this left a killer shiny edge with zero fading or convexing for people who like mirror finish works great . Doesn’t leave that shadow above the bevel 👍. I d say this sharpener is a win win for pocket blades . The only thing I don’t like is the thicker blades 1/4” don’t really fit and wish the screws were a little longer but everythjng works great for me .

@doodysdaggers I've also noticed one pass like you would do with a bench stone doesn't mar up your knife from all the diamonds nearly as bad either. I'm definitely digging this thing just got done doing a TS380 and oh boy... lol

Nice video , thanks . |I got my Hapstone RS a few days ago and I am also very happy with it .I too was using a Work Sharp PRECISION ADJUST (I got a piece of junk ,from the get go .making returns here in Brazil is ,just not worth the hassle ) When flipping the knife it was about 1 + degree off . Big PITA . And I could never get it right . I did better free handed . So this was a huge upgrade ( the Hapstone) . Hapstone is built and comes from Ukraine . I too ordered directly from the web-site , but I got my package fast (about 3 weeks) which is fast for Brazil . It cost a little more , but ,imo worth it . Dealing with them was as good as you could want .CS was excellent . This sharpener is built close to a tank .It`s very well made , so far . I can`t give a long term eval. since I only had it a few days .But so far it appears to be very good . PLus they now list all types of parts for their sharpeners ,If you need them . That`s important . I`ve sharpened 4 knives and am very please with the results . I think anyone who buys this unit , will be too . I would suggest you use water in those diamond plates stone .they should work better and last longer . Your stropping ( paste / spray) should dry first . I think you`ll get better results .

ive been learning freehand sharpening for the last few months. I use diamond plates and started off without putting any water. but after watching a ton of videos i found that using a tiny bit of water on the plates with even a bit of mild soap helps to lubricate and also keep the metal from settling deep into the grit and makes it a bit easier to dab the watery metal stuff off. with this system id say just be careful about getting water in little nooks and crannies and obviously just keep the system dry. anyways just my input, sick system!

After seeing you and Shanazz review of this sharpener, I'd say its a good one! If i didn't already have the kme and most recently the tsprof I'd most definitely go for this option. It seems more secure with the 2 jaws than kme and you don't have to buy an attachment for the jaws to go together like with the tsprof

I've got an older version (the R2 i think), and this thing rocks. You seem to have some play on the vertical rod, supporting the slide, and i guess it's not so good. I'm used to splash my stones (orion venev or naniwa choosera) with some water to lubricate a little. Got some stops for the slide too, in order to avoïd the blade goes out of the stone range and mess up the bevel. The only thing that bother me, are the locking clamp knobs (orange on your set) are unlocking while sharpening sometimes, and the the clamp is getting some play.

Ok, so...my jende stone says Atoma on the plate side its a 140 grit and I hear that you are susposed to use it dry just use a moistened paper towell to wipe the blade off. Also if you go from heel to tip with each stroke the teeth on the apex will be facing the hilt instead of the tipand your scratch pattern will be even all the way down the blade and not be all wonky " I learned the hard way " . I am waiting for the Kadet Pro system to drop...then I'll be sharpening away 😊

You don’t mind all that flex which make the knive bevel going up and down? I had to order the smallest clamps to get rid of some of the flex. The large whole milled clamps has way too much flex to be effective. I’m selling my Hapstone, too much shortcomings, but maybe i should try the clamps you are using. Nice colors and finish though.

That looks nice. And great price. Stones are expensive on that site it seems. But I don’t know if that’s true. Where do you get yours? I’m still on my Precision Adjust, but haven’t used it in a while because I want a better system. This may be in the running. Great MC impression by the way. Made yourself giggle!😂

Can 6" stones that have no bevel, fit in the holder? Can 6" x 2" stones fit? Could 6" stones from Ultra Sharp or DMT fit with these clamps. I thinking of value because of the $400+ cost of the premium diamond Hapstones.Thank you for the nice video!

Nice job, maybe you have removed enough metal to take the extra stop pin out on Watauga now without blade wrap on back pillar. Blade sits in deeper and better detent so really changed the knife for the better for me. :)
@doodysdaggers

There’s an extra stop pin? Hmm I will investigate. Anything that gives it a better detent I’ll try. This thing is mushy as hell

Yes button locks don't need that stop pin to stop blade in closed position, none of Sencut's other models have it. Blade stop against button itself, they only added extra stop pin for about 1mm blade wrap against pillar. mine sits nice and snug now, will try to mail you pic. @@doodysdaggers
