In this weeks episode, Peter Monk and his Spitfire Factory team take on their biggest challenge so far in the restore: attaching the wings. We also meet another icon that flew the skies of World War II alongside the Spitfire called the Hawker Hurricane. Meanwhile, we meet Archie McInnes, a veteran Hurricane pilot, who is one of the last of "Churchill's few" and tells his astonishing story of survival.
Hidden away in a little-known workshop at one of Britain's most important wartime airbases, a team of dedicated engineers and enthusiasts are working round the clock to bring a national icon back to life. Over the course of a year and £2 million at stake, there's no room for error as Peter Monk and his engineers try to turn a 1943 Mark IX Spitfire from rusty remains into the flying legend. This is the Spitfire Factory.

It is funny too think that Archie is one of the reasons that i can sitt here watching this video By defending and fighting in the battle of Britain He and his comrades made it possible for people from Norway and around Europe to have a free country to go to and fight back against the Nazis and free the continent from their tyranny SO HERE'S TO YOU ARCHIE AND ALL OF YOUR COMRADES THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE GOD BLESS YOU ALL❤ 🙏🏻❤ just saying 🇳🇴

Have a read of the NACA (Langley Field) test pilot report, Apr 1942, on the Hurricane II. Performance, handling, stability all tested and the verdict was the same as operational pilots - under rated for good reason. Pilots wanted and needed Spitfires.

My husbands grandfather was the SQUADRON 303 COMMANDER ... it was the most successful squadron in the Battle of Britain .... they shot down 126 German machines in 42 days .. they had the highest kill to loss ratio in any squadron participating in the Battlemof Britain .... the Canadian mint made an coin for his Grandfather ... he has a statue in Poland ... his grandfathernqtote a book, was amazing ... he opened a flying school in Ontario Canada . My husband and son are both named after him... Jan Pawel Falkowski ..absolutely amazing brave man, he at one point crashed broke both LEGS and was sent to a prisoner of war camp, THE DUTCH UNDERGROUND GOT HIM OUT AND HE ESCAPED!!!!! His life story was incredible ... and I tell you when I heard Canadian Prime Minister was not allowing people or pastors to PRAY at remembrance day memorials ????? I cried and cried for all the men who risked everything to give us what we have now and how incredibly disgusting Trudeau is for even suggesting no prayer.... SO DISRESPECTFUL TO THESE MEN AND THEIR FAMILIES ... what is going on in Canada that this sort of thing even being said.... at all.... all I know is this..Canada allows freedom of religion ... and any immigrant is allowed this... but for a gov to stop something that has been done for forever culturally even during wartime to be changed as they say so as not to offend????? Who are they kidding??? Whomever migrates to Canada should honor that countries ways, in what they do, and SAY NOTHING ABOUT IT... and for the gov to try and end this is COMPLETE DISRESPECT AND DISGUSTING TO DO TO THE PEOPLE RISKING THEIR LIVES FOR FREEDOM, ( this would be like Canadians going to another cou try and telling them they cant do their cultural.pracrices because it offends them ) let's say muslims( if we went to one of their countries and told them they couldnt pray .... are they serious?)
