Throughout history, leaders have tried to portray an idealised image of their country and themselves and the undisputed masters of this were without doubt the Nazis under their leader, Adolf Hitler. Nazism in Germany was more than just a political movement. It looked to interweave itself into every facet of German society as it moulded the country into how they tried to perceive it in their propaganda; strong, advanced, prosperous and from their own twisted viewpoint - racially pure. And yet despite the endless parades and showreels of fit and healthy people demonstrating their ideal bodies to help portray Nazi Germany as a healthy nation; like a fish rotting from the head down the truth was that at the top, health matters were not always as advertised. While newsreels and reports similarly showed Hitler leading a healthy lifestyle, the truth is the Fuhrer was a man who fought a near constant battle with his health both physically and mentally. In this episode, we are going to examine some of the history of Hitler’s health problems, how they impacted him during the struggle with the Allied powers and examine the ways in which he tried to combat illness and stress. Welcome to Wars of the World.

6 whole days before OJ Simpson murdered Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman! I bet Eisenhower's rotted Corpse was really pissed about D-Day being replaced in the Headlines.

Well researched and presented - you kept my attention throughout. In those later days, I am always amazed by ‘dolph having such a sunken mouth. I wonder if he stopped using false teeth or something?

One of the more interesting theories that I've read concerning Hitler's Parkinsonian symptoms concerns the idea that they might have been attributable to encephalitis lethargica. This could possibly explain Hitler's tremors, as well as some of his mental health symptoms.

The war was even longer than we thought with D-Day not until 1994,somebody better tell Ike as he was long dead by then.

At around 13:16; I know that memory isn’t perfect, but I was a sophomore in high school in 1994, and I’m pretty sure that we didn’t invade the Normandy coast that year.😂

So the world almost got taken over by a wimpy vegan whos body was falling apart...thats sad. Also it makes me understand why he was evil, he was scared of life and turned that fear into strength by beating up weaker people with it in order to feel strong.

I admire his choice to be vegetarian. He seems to have chosen it not only for health reasons, but because of a genuine love for animals, especially dogs. He DID have this kind streak in him with regards to animals. Yet...yet...it seems so inconsistent when compared with his apparently cruel indifference to the pain he caused humans in other aspects of his administration. 😮

He also beat his dogs. Hitler would have been an interesting case study. There is a book called The Psychopathic God, which is the only true profile of Hitler.
