i genuinely think Doja just doesn't want to do commercial, overproduced pop anymore. the transformation was dramatic but i feel like she did it purposefully. After the performance of demons it was obvious and then balut, it was obvious the album wasnt going to surpass planet her and if she was really worried, i think she could of added more songs like agora hills that were more poppy. I even still think she could still turn around and regain her popularity and i think the next album is very telling to weather this was merely a marketing strategy that slightly failed or this is her no longer wanting to be commercial and overproduced

She did do it on purpose but telling your fans that they were essentially dumb or foolish for liking for her old music and sound is very disrespectful. There are many artists who may not like their old songs or their old style and want to change but they don't bully their fans for liking that style. Because music is personal music and taste varies.. Also scarlet wasn't that different from her other stuff tbh

A lot of people won't give her music a chance cause she's "controversial" but will refresh Spotify 1000 times at midnight waiting for a new Kanye or Carti drop. As long as the music is dope, interesting and creative and you're not hurting innocent people then idc what's done or said on socials. Her tour is sold out. Scarlet went gold and had two hit songs (agora hills and paint the town red)/ She just broke a record for having the most money earned on a tour night by a female rapper I believe so tbh the era isnt bad. Scarlet isnt a hit based album, its a album you listne to from start to finish and people dont do that anymore lol.

That’s how cancel culture became a thing, but ppl didn’t go hard because she is still black so she slid by. Some things the guy didn’t touch on was Doja growing up very religious, she lived in a ashram in Agoura hills as a child, practised Hinduism, trained in Bharatnatyam with a Jewish mother…. to me it always looks like she just tries to rebel against anything she feels forced into. Even now with fame, she’s saying she’s too famous.

I don't really know how to feel about this situation. See I was a big fan of hers when she first started after the whole cow song accident. But then we started getting a bit more about her personal life and I hate to say that she appears to be one of the mixed black people who doesn't like a lot about her black side. And I would never say this but when we found out that she was like going to certain group chats with known racists and participating with them and talking to them. It felt almost like a betrayal in a weird way because when you follow somebody and you really support their rising and their talent growing it's a bit hard to see them do something that's questionable. But over the years that question will behavior became more obvious to be something that she participated in. We could see that with her video game live that she would do off and on and even see delete videos of her in the video with a lot of racist white men... That already made me stop listening to her music quite a bit because it made me wonder what was going on in her mind, I'm one of the people who can separate the artist from their music when it comes to certain things. But once more and more stuff started coming out on her and I started seeing her speak up on it more. It became apparent that she did have some problems and I think you are entitled to that but that doesn't mean I have to support it. And let's be fear she have a lot of bops, a lot of songs were something I kept on repeat on my playlist. Now we have her going through what a cousin of mine compared to Nicki Minaj Roman era. But this feels slightly darker to me and I don't think she sold her solar anything like that, but I think there's something going on with her mentally that she's in a really dark place. And no I don't think it's a cry for help I think she's just going through her own stuff and as far as I'm concerned I'm not comfortable with it. And then we got that whole situation with her boyfriend or I guess whoever she was dating being a horrible person and her just saying she didn't care. To me you get what you're looking for and sometimes you bring in that person or people because the energy you give off. I can only imagine the type of energy she's giving off in private in her own personal life that she is constantly around these individuals. So for me no matter how good the song is I most likely won't listen to it anymore. That doesn't mean everyone else can't listen to it though, I hope everyone enjoys her music but for me I'll just keep a step back. Whatever she's going through I hope she's makes it. I can only imagine what type of stress you must be under but everyone looking at her and judging everything she does. But I think what's happening now isn't so good for her, but it might be good for her streaming through 😅
