THE HUNT FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE BUILD! | Project Ascension S8 | Classless WoW | Progression

Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video and today we go on a hunt for what seems to be an impossible build to roll outside of the most lucky of circumstances. I go on a 3 day+ journey, completing a dozen and a half 1-60 playthroughs in the process in my desperate attempt to acquire the abilities Berserker Stance, Siegebreaker, and Recklessness in the same build.
What can I say guys? I got sick towards the end of my last video, pushed through with the grind and am still sick as I type this. But I'll be real, I played smart, maximized my RNG to the best of my ability and luck, and put in the time, but will it be enough to land the impossible build on our brand new strength-based character in Season 8? Will the good karma that I've accrued by giving people free Experience Auras on the reg and refusing to commit bad deeds such as stealing gold from players at the behest of morally corrupt party members? Or is karma just something some of us pretend exists so we hate our lives just a bit less? Found out in this video!

they need to pull some of the abilities out of the pool, as an example there are two different versions that give water walking, and three different cards that give waterbreathing and increased movement (aquatic form, Unyeilding Breath, Waterbreathing shaman one), just drop the duplicates from the pool at the very least. Maybe they should make you choose some sort of limitor on what types of abilities you end up getting to cut the pool by some amount. Eddalyn

for berserker stance its way easier to roll if u start with stance mastery at lv 1, otherwise your best bet is to not take many rare to keep your rare draft chance to pop

@@mickmax123 no but its like the other stuff with "mastery" in it. Want Blessings, needs to take Blessing Mastery. Want Shaman weapon buffs, need to take Weapon Enchant Mastery. Masteries dont count towards the rare/epic slot though

I wanted to have the ability to play the build in pvp by guaranteeing a gap closer early, and wanted to go big in the draft, while also proving a point - I saw berserker stance 2, maybe 3 times in 18 drafts with it lucky carded and that's.. Not right

When I first started watching draft builds on this channel, I seem to recall the draft part being "Let's all see what we can get and see if we can make it work." As opposed to now where it seems about nailing the perfect build. I don't, it's like 1 am my time and maybe my memories foggy, but it seemed like things were a bit more fun then.

I have just started playing on this server 2 days ago, that is exactly my point of view as well, i thought Draft mode was supposed to be DRAFT mode...you get what you get and try to make it work, if it sucks Prestige....But its not that at all, everyone wants the perfect build....i mean....you know you have Area 52 for that right? ......right?....what is the point of playing in a Draft server, when all you do is reroll skills and hope to get what you CAN get in area 52, it just seems stupid as hell lol, just play on the other server rofl

McDoubles -- I'm noticing the same thing... Season 8 is like a job. My mental health has been suffering too from all the game client crashes, glitches, and the insanely broken draft system. -- SlapMeSilly.

100% feeling your frustrations about drafting right now. I've done a similar amount of prestige runs and card collecting, trying to get the necessary skills for my build to work, and been having similar results. Fingers crossed for the Ascension devs' continued efforts on the S8 draft system. Even the updates to the draft logic haven't seemed to make much difference.

@@Mryourporn Yeah, it's weird. People don't like free pick because it's predictable or w/e, but will then complain about RNG in a mode that is based around RNG. Maybe they should add a fresh free pick server for 1-60 or something.

I don't think it's too unrealistic to ask for 4-6 skills, that together make a build work, to be available after 10 prestige runs, let alone 20. The fresh server was appealing but this was also my first draft server.

I remember seeing you a lot while you were prestiging and even encountering you in BGs. Now it makes sense you had to Prestige so much. I also planned on gong for Gurubashi Berserker next but I figured I should get all the skill cards before even trying and you just convinced me that I definitely 100% should only attempt this with all the skill cards. You can change the model of ur serpent form, go to a barber and change the facial features u have 5+/- models, one without the green. Because ppl already asked me, u got a barber in undercity in the middle of the city Just go on the chair out of form, change one time a facial, get out the chair and enter serpent form to see what model u got, repeat until u fet the no green. Its a permenant fix.

I've noticed that for card swaps too, it seems to a lot of the time target your FIRST ability you picked of that certain rarity of the card swap. Maybe I'm just super unlucky or something, but it's been pretty miserable. I've been spam making characters, leveling them to 60 for the Path of Ascension questline because it rewards you with basically a free 150g or something and then spending that gold on golden skill cards just to get shafted. Right before you uploaded this video I actually made a character to try and go for this build, I carded TG, Berserker Stance, my golden cards are shit so I did Wing Clip and Blessing of Kings, and then my lucky cards were just all of the common dps abilities needed along with weapon enhance mastery, and I actually got the most insanely good RNG I've ever gotten for rolls and still basically missing a huge chunk because I don't have Siegebreaker. I managed to roll Avatar as my first legendary which I just took in case I didnt get Death Wish, GOT Recklessness, Blade Flurry, Sweeping Strikes, Rampage AND Aspect of the Beast naturally, AND got a card swap for Death Wish but it of course wanted me to replace Recklessness and then I never saw Siegebreaker once except for when I leveled my past prestige and nailed nothing except for it. I even got Bladestorm as my 2nd legendary just to mess around in pvp a bit but no Siegebreaker feels pretty bad... Still gonna play it out and see if I can maybe land it in a future roll. Im trying do draft a Crimson Champion at the Moment and EVERY Blue Card swap wants me to replace my holy shield. My core ability :D It never has offered me something different to swap, so yeah, i feel your pain and would say that something feels wrong about the Card swap.

Couple things! - You show up on our friends list when you change names, it's just how they did s8 and it kinda sucks if you wanna be incognito for a bit. - You have the biggest guild on the server and lots of them are awesome! My last prestiges they just GAVE me the aura, and then I bought one for the following group. You need to be running with us because we want to support you and certainly would never rip you off. - The Card RNG really sucks this time around, I wish they'd weigh them or something. I think that they'd alleviate a lot of headaches by letting your lucky cards affect your Hands of Fate. - If you're doin a tank build soon, might i suggest fire tank! -Tanksy

The lag is very likely caused by one or more of your addons not functioning as they should. Try disabling literally all addons and see if it still happens. If it does, remove your cache folder when your game isn't running, that might help.

Curious fact: I have prestiged paladin 12x times, didn't see execution sentence once, but saw siege breaker on at least 8 of these prestiges. On the other hand, i prestiged dragon warrior build 10x and didn't see siege breaker once, i really hope that is just a coincidence and not another way to increase our grind making us buy more auras/pots on cash shop.

I feel your pain bro, 20+ prestiges myself just trying to get Death Wish for Dragon Warrior and no luck at all. I haven't ever seen it during draft and I haven't ever seen a card for it, if there even is one. And I've opened thousands of lucky and normals and spent roughly 10k on golds. On the flip side Thunder Slam works great and is fun to play so w/e

I feel you McDoubles, I've been trying to roll Intercept for my Dragon Warrior for a while now and haven't seen it once either. Wish they'd add some system that recognizes what school of abilities/spells you are getting, cuz getting stuff like Efflorescence when you don't have even remotely similar stuff gets very frustrating very quickly. And the lucky cards must be bugged, cuz after several prestige's I haven't managed to get one to pop even once. - Orcguy

Open the sealed cards, the devs made the darkmoon tickets much better for finding specific skills plus they rotate each day from the vendor so always be on a lookout for a skill you want to pick up AND you can transfer the tickets to a main which is a nice improvement. On that note I've played two different builds and tbh I got pretty lucky with pulls each time and only ended up rerolling to try different things such as rolling poison over rockbitter etc for a rogue dot build. I almost wish they had a way limit what sort of rares and epic spells you could roll into, like a melee build does not need to see caster epics and rares but that might be taking away from the randomness of it all.

I completely understand your frustration. I could give more advice but I'm gonna leave with sympathy. I'm having fun with season 8, I hope you find something to play with. Maybe gurubashi is something to return to when the card goddess has blessed your RNG to guarantee berserker stance.

Me and others on discord have mentioned in suggestions that the vagueness of the draft system and having to scour discord for info on how for example the rarity gems work is absurd. They need to make the system transparent so everyone would have an even playing field. Lucky carding berserker stance supposedly didn't even work, but might be rng or maybe you need the mastery first to even have a chance for it to pop up. Take battle stance at lvl 1 pretty much guaranteed to get zerker stance at some point. My prestiges end with pretty much all 3 stances if I cared for them. Also might want to reconsider TG for Gurubashi, raging blow does 25% less damage with two-handers + TG penalty. Hits like a noodle or maybe it's just undertuned . - Takata

9:03 as far as I know, it gives you the mastery when you get any card in that genre (getting an aspect of any kind gives you aspect mastery, getting a seal gets you seal mastery), but the weapon enhancements tend to be some of the lowest % chance from what I've seen

Hey man, just thought I'd throw this out there; it seems way more efficient to me to roll 4 different toons and level them all to 60 than to prestige 20 times and here's why: your first playthrough nets you about 20k marks if you do the basic callboard stuff and the auto-ascension quests. I get 50 HoF, 60 skill cards, and 60 lucky skill cards for each character. 4 toons is 240 skill cards, and 240 lucky skill cards. Your first prestige on any of the 4 toons is going to let you see almost every common, uncommon and rare skill in the game already at your disposal. I apologize that this does nothing for rarity bottlenecking at certain skill thresholds though, it's unavoidable. Hope this helps some people from having to prestige for a month and never have a large skill card pool to base off. Love, Peace, and Hair Grease - Eric

1. you get zerkerstance 90% of time if you start with battlestance+lucky zerker card 2. Finisher mastery will absolutly scuff your rolls unless you pick all finishers on the way to remove them off the pool. 3. Same for elemental weapon and earth totem mastery. 4. forget about cardswaps theres no point betting on them, just dont take epics/rares until you get your stuff like last season 5. youre better off increasing your chances by farming gold and marks for more golden skillcards and darkmoon tickets, prestiging again without spending 15k marks per try on darkmoon tickets is alot of wasted potential and time

Not sure what it is but the card swap always seem to give you the opposite of what you need for something you already own you need. I think Ascension should at least give us the option to choose which ability to swap out. - Darkstorm

Had the perfect build for Heavyweight even. I had Death Wish, Hunger for Blood, the core rotation, Blade Flurry to make the AoE even more ridiculous. I was feeling so good, and I had so many rerolls ready for 60, and I was so psyched. Then what happened? I needed Mortal Strike. I was able to play Heavyweight kinda fine without it, but without MS I was really missing that final piece to keep the damage consistent. 80+ reroll cards, every mark of ascension I had, never saw Mortal Strike once. Sat in disbelief at having to prestige just to try and get the build again because I didn't even get a Mortal Strike skill/lucky card out of all that either. I even spent 500g on golden lucky cards, and did not get it either. I'm rolling a One With the Light build right now because I have everything guaranteed that I need, and as of right now I'm having fun throwing down Light's Hammer, and hitting big Judgement AoE, but to have to reroll a build and spend that many resources is absolutely crazy. Sorry for that long post, but that first part was just a huge rant at having to reset a near-perfect build for such a core ability.

@@Mcdoubles it was sad to reroll a heavyweight build like that. I even had trueshot aura and beast aspect. I really wanted to make it work and maybe I should have skipped playing ascension's game and made it work by maybe trying to get some other ability, but after spending all the resources I had for nothing it really kills your desire to play that build. It's the endless cycle of draft mode ascension man.

I can feel your pain, take some time to recover for both your physical and mental health. - Xzoltar This video pretty much sum how Draft work this season, Lucky card who never show up, Swap that always give you very bad swap choice. I paid few thousands gold to try to acquire, feel scam after seeing the Patch note saying they forgot to put some card in the skill card system... Increase chance for high level ability to show up ? Still don't see them while leveling, while using Hand of Fate and the skill card never show... I have acquire thousands of skill cards and a lot of the stable ability have still never show up.

Feels like something changed in both the draft system as the lucky cards, haven't had much luck as well; might require a rename to once a life/prestige cards xD. I have yet to get a usable build in season 8 with the free reroll's, I have always had to buy up to the 1300 ish mark area to even have a usable build.

Also, pretty sure everything is harder to get in general just because there so many skills they've added. It's just directly %-based maths. Like we're rolling 4d10 instead of 4d6 and still hoping for 4 sixes.

As others have said you increase your chance to roll zerker if you take stance mastery at lvl 1, that with the lucky card massively increases odds of seeing it. It would have also been good to not go for slice and dice since you polluted your pool with lots of combo point commons and rares which lowered your chances of other rares and the few commons you needed like raging blow and WW. For Siegebreaker I'd honestly not try the build unless I had a card for it, not even a lucky card but an actual forced card. - Xenthalus

@@Mcdoubles yeah like I said it's not even worth trying if you don't have the card. I haven't seen seigebreaker on any of my specs or prestiges and I've only seen the new bloodbath ability like once. Feels like the new higher rarity abilities are super rare. Trying to roll a good blood for the blood God (the other troll themed new melee RE) would be just as hard considering you require mutilate and crimson tempest (2 rares) and hunger for blood (an epic) at minimum and then also want multiple bleed abilities and poisons so that's more blues and epics like garrote and bloodbath to try to get. A lot of people are just saying screw it and going for old builds that are simpler to roll or a few of the new ones that don't have complex skill requirements.

This video is a perfect example of why I prefer free pick over draft. Draft mode just feels unsatisfying and tricks you into wasting hours of your time for no reason.

I say Card Swaps should allow you to choose one of up to 3 abilities of the same rarity to drop, similar to normal draft. ALSO, abilities you get should be influenced by your main stat imo, if I go STR main stat, i dont want to see 10321921 caster abilities. Give us higher chance to get abilities that scale off AP if I have an AP main stat, higher chance to get SP if i have an SP main stat. -Umbra
