I first got into this when I 10 (1999 version), I loved the first arc and beyond. Sadly my Dad hates this series, he's a huge fan of Yu Yu Hakusho and thinks Togashi's lost his touch, but boy he is sorely mistaken.

He is the oldest, so that doesn't necessarily mean he's naturally stronger than the others. He could just be more developed on account of his age. He also has the worst stamina in the group.

The 4th test was a capture the flag type game. To pass the 4th test you need to collect 6 points. Your bandge and your target's badge are worth 3 points each and all other badges are worth 1 points each.

Only problem I have with one piece is the pacing. It's way too slow for my taste, especially the anime. So much so that I don't actually follow the anime or manga, since I get bored of doing so after a couple months. I usually just stop following it for a couple years and then binge watch/read an entire arc at once.

+Luke One Piece is better experienced one arc at a time. So you're basically reading One Piece the right way. Waiting every week for a new chapter is bullshit, it's too slow. And the anime isn't even worth mentioning anymore, it's shit.

Yea I agree with you the first arc didn't feel slow at all I thought it had great pace, introduce the foundation on becoming a hunter very well. However, to each is own. Hunter x hunter is my favorite serious but always gotta remember that what you love someone out there will mostly hate.

You missed the part at the end of trick tower where they had to choose between two paths One path was long but let everyone go and the other was a shortcut but only allowed 3 to go and Gon showcased his problem solving skills and they picked the long route and just used their time too break into the short route. Thought that was a great moment

tekking you're really under playing the hunter exam arc man. Like usually I'm with you but this arc was very important to the growth of gon and friends. It's the underline of the story.

Well the fact that all his voice actors are female probably didn't help much, i know a lot of characters like Luffy and Goku are voiced by women, well at least sometimes depending on the country, but i just really couldn't decide on Kurapika's gender at first, maybe it was the flowing golden locks.

This first arc was long, but I still thought it was amazing. The characters and plot in this arc were amazing, and it never really bored me. There was always tension or something happening in this arc. All this considered it still only gets better from here. Glad these vids exist, I kinda forgot how good the beginning of this show is because the end is just, incredible doesn’t do it justice. Still great vid tekking

taloutezero you also gatta have some restrictions because that ability is too powerful without it. For example it could be something simple like the further you are to the room or the bigger it is the weaker the effect is. Or it could be abstract where have to ask your opponent if you demonstrate your hatsu or ability.

Hansel John everyone copies everyone. New series like MHA and Black Clover are inspired by Naruto rather than DBZ which was what Kishimoto drew inspiration from.

This is my favorite anime and manga. Togashi is a genious writer and artist. It sucks that we have to wait so long sometimes, but the wait is always worth it every time it comes back.

I thought hunter x hunter would be a light hearted kinda childish shounen but this idea was destroyed the moment a giant bug ate a 9 year old and his little sister.
