and also teaching the wrong stuff that "real" boxers doesn't use. His true boxer stance is bad in real boxing except for the philly shell defense like what mayweather is doing. it inpedes your movement. marvin cook is just about theories. have you seen him do mitts with his students? have you seen him taught a pro boxer? a competing amateur boxer? have seen him shadow box? have you seen him hit the heavy bag? lol you'll laugh at the way he moves. he is bad and you are just scammed because he is just a SMOOTH TALKER and with his body build. he is just about fake theories and just proud of himself thinking he is the only one who teaches "true" boxing (stance).

I´ll never gonna be tired of saying this, but the loooong 8 years wait for this guy´s return was really worth. I subbed to Marvin in 2012, then he disappeared from YT and people started to unsubscribe, but I never did, I´ve always had the hope he would make a comeback, and look at now we have this gem of an instructor right back throwing golden concepts and knowledge in 2020. Love you Marvin

My Coach tells me that when your in your boxing stance, your toes on both feet must always face your opponent. He says this allows you to generate maximum power when you punch. He used a saying that, when a sprinter sprints in the Olympics, their toes are facing the finish line; if their toes were facing opposite direction, they can’t run as fast. Wherever toes point is where power goes. My Coach is Al Ice Cole former Cruiserweight Champion. My name is Kevin Gonzalez and I am training to compete in the 2024 Olympics in France. Thank you for your videos.

Watching this, understating the correct way to throw a jab, and watching Michael Jai White demonstrate non-telegraphed movements, it's absolutely clear. If they're moving their head, and your jab comes from the rotation of the hips so it's kind of hard to tell when it's coming, and you're doing subtle half steps around your opponent to create angles which is also difficult to detect, (especially if you're moving your head around like a chicken listening to trap music) these jabs are going to land every time and the set ups will be easier and easier still. They're so focused on the jab they _think_ they see coming, they don't even know about the cross that's about to knock them out. Thank you for this lesson.

@@krioni86sa If you already learned to box in the way that Marvin lowkey disses all the time you would have to be really humble in order to choose to train this style of boxing. I've come to the conclusion that what he says about moving and punching is very true, although you can definitely debate the details of his teaching such as the foot alignment and choice to limit your own offensive capabilities in the hopes that your opponent does not have the same freedom of movement as you. However, I will continue to watch his videos and feel out his boxing philosophy. If it doesn't work I'll just switch back, no harm done, I have only gotten crisper lateral footwork and a quicker jab for it.

i really like your approach to boxing. it seems so easy and efficient. also makes alot of sense because in other sports a good positioning and movement always is a huge winning factor. when im watching this im kinda always thinking about video games. like a 1vs1 in an ego shooter for example counter strike or something. lets say the one person doesnt use his W,A,S,D keys at all and the other person has free movement i think the one that can use his movement has a big advantage over the one that doesnt move at all. even if you would only knife him you would win a huge amount of the matches.

Hi Coach. I really like how you explain things and love the knowledge behind it. I love boxing even though I train MMA but I train boxing beside it separately just because I love boxing. some people tell me that some of my boxing techniques like deeping down for a body hooks or shovel hooks are dangerous for MMA. I searched a lot to find a video on boxing specially for MMA but there are not. Even though I think I am an above average boxer and understand fighting enough to understand that all boxing techniques from outsides are good for MMA though I may be missing some important aspects of its differences. I would love to see you do a video on boxing for MMA guys. just a suggestion now that you mentioned MMA in this video.

boxing is real goldmine for every fight sport, what work or not work elsewhere depends on style and it would be just common sense to choose one technique above others... of course you don't want to dip into a knee as much as you don't want to give your leg while kicking... boxing is just more "scientific", competitive, rich of information and spread across the globe than any other fightsport
