The Acura Integra has always been a "luxury Civic." Get over it. The sooner you do, the sooner you'll realize it's a solid competitor to the entry-level BMW, Lexus, Mercedes and Audi. As long as you don't need AWD.

The liftback *alone* on this Integra gives it such an edge over other vehicles in the segment.

Exactly. With the swoopy styling on the CLA and the "gran coupe" branding for the 2 series, one would expect those to make up their lack of headroom for liftback practicality, until the moment that they realize that CLA and 2GC are trunked.

Great review. While purists might hate that Acura is calling this an Integra, I think the company could do well with this model. Also, I like the new A3 and I almost bought one of the last new 2020s a couple years ago, but as a value proposition the new Integra beats it by a mile. If the A3 was available in a manual I might go that route, but of course it isn’t.

For $36k, its a deal compared to its other entry-luxury competitors, but the next generation Accord is most likely being released next year as a MY2024. I'd rather have an Accord Sport 2.0T instead of the top trim Integra. Hopefully Honda doesn't decontent it like it did the Civic Si, raise the price too much, or go overboard on the styling.

If I wanted the best value, long term reliability, lower maintenance cost and some brand prestige, I would go with the Integra. If money was no object, I'd go with A3 or pony up for the S3, more luxury, less practicality [or GTI (overpriced in my opinion) or Golf R.] You can't really make the case for the other correctly compared vehicles. Great video. Hopefully this chip shortage plays out sooner than later so we can get back to getting excited about new cars instead of being destroyed for new and used cars alike.

My biggest problem with the Integra is what Honda did with the Civic Si. Took away the amenities that the 10th gen Si already had, including adaptive dampers and then raised the cost of the 11th gen Si $2K. Then, added them all back into the top trim Integra A-Spec with Tech Pkg for $8K more. $8K more and you don't even get rear vents. It's a nice car, but definitely not worth $8K more than an Si with the same powertrain.

The first 2 years of maintenance is included for free. If they keep your car for a while the give you an Acura while you wait. Strange…Alex tested Civic Hatch 0-60 in 6.6 faster than higher HP Civic Si and Most likely Integra as well. I’m wondering if the Civic Hatch is more fun to drive than the Integra? Also the Integra has a more compliant ride than the Si but I wonder how it compares with Civic Hatch? If it’s around the same then the only reason to get the Integra would be for sound deadening? Based on videos I think I like the Civic Hatch interior better and you can get real leather too.

I keep seeing this a lot, but I really don't think that would work. For one, sticking an engine that's only available in the Accord wouldn't be representative of what the Integra was and is: a luxury Civic. Also, they would have had to extend the front hood to accommodate this powertrain, increasing development costs. They purposefully cost cut in a few places to keep the price down.

In a day and age when the highly talked about Hyundai/Kia group are discontinuing their hatchbacks, the hatchback factor makes the Integra distinctive. Not sure what Hyundai/Kia was thinking when they axed the Elantra GT and Forte5, and one also has to wonder why the G70 is trunked when it could've been a liftback like the Stinger.

Lyxury buyers have rarely bought hatchbacks, so I underatand that decision. Discontinuing the other two right at the same time moat other companies were reintroducing hatches in the US does seem strange, but they didn't sell very well. If I had to guess, people went for the maual as at cvt has no place in an Acura product. Additionally, they are forcing people to go with the manual if they want the LSD. Huge mistake. There should be a DCT or 10 speed automatic in this vehicle. The LSD should be included on more trims. Finally, there should have been more power or a different engine.
