What a nightmare! AB's just posted an encounter with a PCSO inside Boots, who handed him a basket as she thought he wouldn't look like a shoplifter! Racial profiling and a refusal to show a designation card which was than backed up by a PC! Proof that the problems shown here are still very much in existence.

And part 5 shows that the CHIEF inspectors and CHIEF constables should be named in ALL lawsuits for their FAILURE to adequately Train, Monitor and Discipline CSO's and regular PC;s alike every time they screw up 😉👍 - - - - - Police Reform Act Part 4: Police powers etc' Chapter 1: Exercise of police powers etc. by civilians Section 38: Police powers for civilian staff and volunteers (1) The chief officer of police of any police force may designate a relevant employee as either or both of the following - (a) a community support officer; (b) a policing support officer. (1A) The chief officer of police of any police force may designate a police volunteer as either or both of the following - (a) a community support volunteer; (b) a policing support volunteer. (2) The description of officers are as follows - (a) community support officer; (b) investigating officer; (c) detention officer; (d) escort officer. (3) . . . . . (4) A chief officer of police . . . shall not designate a person under this section unless he is satisfied that that person - (a) is a suitable person to carry out the functions for the purposes of which he is designated; (b) is capable of effectively carrying out those functions; and (c) has received adequate training in the carrying out of those functions and in the exercise and performance of the powers and duties to be conferred or imposed on him by virtue of the designation.

I'm guessing the police, rather than the legislators, added the P because they are designated some P powers and it lends some degree of credence ( in the eyes of the boot-lickers ) to their otherwise useless existence.

I will agree with you on them being ordered to be authoritative with the public. The chiefs have told them that they will get the backing. And the chief believes that these PCSOs may fool some of the public and this will allow the police to spend more time in the station.

I think it's wrong that we have police officers in the UK who we have a problem with understanding their language. And when a cop, security anyone in authority says I don't think. I did not realise that filming corrupt police officers and PCSO’s outside a police station was classified - if they are really so precious about it then use high gates and jamming equipment - I do suspect that aside from GDPR, Parliament will soon pass laws banning all public filming, especially with police officers
