Taiki Nakajima left his family’s restaurant in Japan in search of more inspiration. After traveling through places like Italy and India, he found himself in Portland, Oregon. There, he brought Japan to the Pacific Northwest with his Japanese sandos - composed sandwiches made with fluffy bread, with fillings like egg salad and katsu chicken.

I live in Portland, and have had his sando's countless times. I seek his sando's out more than any other food cart. He deserves all the best, he really does share his Japan, you can taste it! Well done Taiki!!!

Taiki is my boy!!! I see him all the time here in Portland. He is so friendly and I became a regular sometime last year before they moved locations. I already had a love for Japanese egg salad, but he made it 100X stronger. I would come here 3 times a week. Sometimes get two sandwiches at once! I love the miso katsu chicken and the chicken nanban. So amazing. Much love Taiki and Tokyo Sando!

This food truck is my favorite, every time I’m in portland this is a spot I have to stop by!! Loved seeing the behind the scenes and learning about the owner’s story. Let me tell y’all these sandwiches are the BEST and you can taste the soul put into those bad boys.

Oishi! My daughter and I visited the University of Portland over the weekend and this was our #1 stop. We had the Tokyo teriyaki egg sando (a.k.a. Teri tama sando) and Miso pork katsu sando. They were absolutely amazing!!!Taiki Nakajima and the young lady who took our order were so incredibly genuine, and a pleasure to talk to. We’re hooked.

Just moved to Portland from San José, CA. I must say the food out here is FANTASTIC. I wouldn’t be surprised that these sandwiches are BOMB. It’s really hard to find crappy food here.

I remember I went on one of the first days it was open, super long line. Waited even longer than I thought I was going to, hangry and pissed AF by the time I got to the window and ordered. But when I took a bite out of my Ebi Sando, by god a smile just broke out across my face and I immediately knew the wait was more than worth it.
