how do you marry after 6 months? I blame them for this rubbish. I for people who would say the time doesn't matter, when people who know each other separate, they do so without arguing, unless there are lies and money involved. She should had got legal counsel before she left the kids My sister in law (God bless her) She left my brother house when he was at work with their 3 kids But went to the police station to make a statement that she lift with the kids without the husband appeal So any time he wants to see he is welcome to do so Which help her for the custody of her children

@@efumwahkorsah7152 that's because your sister in law wanted to be with her children, in the instant case, the mother had custody because she left with the children but woke up one day and decided to drop them off and the judge said she could have gone to court to force him to pay maintenance money instead yet she didn't look back until two years later demanding for custody without making attempt to see the children before coming to the court.

Spot on! I agree with you completely. Rebecca has suffered emotional and psychological trauma and it shows. One can't always describe emotional or psycholocal abuse which seems to have happened from what she described throughout the marriage - it's equally as painful as physical abuse. What she described infers that her mother-inlaw was extremely controlling which caused trauma. It's not something that is really accepted or understood in Nigeria; or Africa as a whole due to culture and tradition. Same with narcissism - we don't know if the husband was a narcissist; again not really a concept that is understood/accepted in Africa. Rebecca needs prayers, counselling and therapy to really heal. This case was a sad one.

I'm a woman and I will blame the woman 100%. The number 1 mistake was dropping off the children with the man irrespective of the stress she was going through, she has her parents around her that makes it even better. No matter how terrible her living condition was when she was still with the children no judge will give the man custody of the children in Nigeria. The worse that can happen if the man isn't comfortable with the living condition is for the man to get them a better apartment. The mere fact that she left the kids with the man was a total sale of her right of custody. The judge as a woman was not really happy with her but had no choice than being professional.

Nigerians and its court systems don't understand domestic violence / abuse and its forms. Rebecca told the judge, that she didn't trust to meet with Seun anywhere to see her children, and the judge blames her for not taking any steps to see her children, even when she said she doesn't trust him. This was a safety guide she could apply inorder not to be harmed or murdered. In our world today a cheating husband can go any length to do away with his wife just to be with another woman.

Rebecca wasn’t presenting her case well, she started telling the judge about spiritual stuff in court besides, she never made the judge know that she needs that to be addressed in court and she only said it ones so I don’t expect the judge to help her talk about it because she the judge is there to see how she can help them resolve their marital problems. The reason they came to court is just for the custody that’s all we understand here

Me dear i went through the same thing oo the car the gifts all of it is a lie…Her mother Inlaw never wanted her For her son it was was just for cover up trust me it’s deeper than that.I went through it For 17years.I was looking crazy like this beautiful girl. The mother Inlaw will never allow them together because she’s too prayerful and that’s one of the problem to his mom and whom ever is in the house now is the one the mother Inlaw wants Trust me.She need to leave them alone ,I mean to stay far….,Away from his mom & Concentrate on her self & Kids for what ever her mother did to her son is still working as long as she’s still alive before they kpai her .The judge will not understand because it’s deeper than that..This is my story

Maybe she's just a bad mother-in-law. Even if the lady is 100% Yoruba, she might still be acting the same way. Let's wait for a sec, we are all calling her bad mother-in-law but we never hear her own side of the story. How will you feel if your son's wife secretly planned and relocated with your son to another country without telling anyone? They got to Accra before the mother-in-law knew they've left the country. The lady has some faults too. She tried all means to avoid her husband's family instead of managing them. She even had no friends among her husband's relatives. If she's that good, at least one person will still be loyal to her. If you look deep you will discover everything keeps connecting to the mother in-law, she might be doing what she's doing innocently to protect her son but the guy should have let her know it's his marriage and she need to step down. Obviously she lady has her own fault but it's little compares to the husband, he acted like a child, he should have manage the situation not his wife, the lady would have protected him if her family acted the same way her husband family did, because he was not economically independent he allowed his mother controls him.
