Today, we're going to do a year-later followup review on one of my very favorite pens, the Kaweco Lilliput, and show off its little 'Fireblue' brother. In short, they're still gems!

I've spent thousands on fountain pens, but I never dropped any cash on a Kaweco......now I'm thinking that I should. Thanks for the video!

Consider a Kaweco Supra as well 🙃. Solid, adjustable in length and features a no. 6 nib.

I met Michael Gutberlet (the CEO) in Malaysia a month ago. Absolutely amazing guy! Got to check out his collection of vintage Kawecos from the 60s that he carries to his meet and greets. He had some vintage "safety pens" and pistol filler Sports that Kaweco used to make.

You dropped that line about the Lamy 2000 -- my edc and soulmate -- and i felt a little tingle of appreciation. Love your reviews! Newly subbed!

These are absolutely elegant at first glance. Their size looks so comfortable, too. I'm a ballpoint man. I'll die a ballpoint man. This is the showiness and finish that a fountain pen deserves, however. They demand better than plastic. I don't know what any fountain pen is like to write with and care for though.

The cartridge only option (and the small size) continue to stay my hand in going the liliput route. A pen I'm rather fond of for daily care, quick jots, whipping out to write a check (rare as that is today) is the Pilot vanishing point in any of it's many colors, slightly different models etc. Mind you, I wouldn't toss it in a tool box but a quick click has be writing -- and it takes a converter (if somewhat small volume).

I feel you with the threading angle. That's why I always carry a Liliput click-action ballpoint pen for hurried needs. Still for me, the Liliput is the king of pocket pens (I don't think the Kaweco Sport is a real competitor as it is substantially bigger). For more dedicated writing away from home, I use either of my steel fireblue or bare steel Liliputs. Both with the matching copper clips.

LA Pen show is coming up in three months! You can have Mike Masuyama grind your nib in person. I’ve heard that’s the best way since you can try the pen mid way through the job I refill carts for my pilot pens sometimes, it’s not the worst if you have a syringe.

Don’t even know wtf your talking about but I’m a Shabazz fan so here I am!!!
@bradleyh80445 жыл бұрын
If you send that nib off to a nibmeister, I highly recommend that you try a more unique grind like a narrower stub. My absolute favorite nib is an .8 mm stub I had ground for my vanishing point.

Im not into pens.. the jotter with the pressurized refill works great.. im happy.
@dutch_blades4 жыл бұрын
You could try the 14k nibs; I've had some better experience with them. And the Kaweco piston converter built for the Sport doesn't fit, but their squeeze converter does ;)

I carry the capped ball point vison of this because I hate the fisher space pen refil I love the D1 refils it takes and apart from the one complaint I have about the pen it's nearly perfect for a pocket pen and it's the same issue you rise just wish the threading to post the pen was a bit more back just like capping the pen u don't have to worry about cross threading but to post it always scares me that I might

Have you tried Kaweco Supra? It looks similar to Liliput but just bigger. I call it "liliput on steroids".....lol
@andyrichardson61885 жыл бұрын
Without a clip do you need to worry about it going tip down in your pocket and leaking into the cap?
@ciannacoleman51252 жыл бұрын
I just started using FPs and am not ready to drop that much money on a single pen but feel the plain steel calling me because it would match perfectly with my future set of pocket watercolor brushes lol

Hi Nick ! I have some questions, hope you can answer them for me ! I have been surfing around the Internet and found that people were complaining about their Kaweco Liliput Aluminium version getting corroded after not a long time of use, even if some of them only use the pen with Kaweco Ink ( they think that the Ink is the cause of the corrosion, maybe the ink is too acid and it eaten the aluminium). I want to ask you, is your stainless steel liliput and your copper one is still fine without any corrosion ? Thanks in advance !

not carrying a fountain pen nib up is asking for a pocketful of ink. you case or sleeve it and put it nib up in whatever, a pocket, a case, etc.....refilling a cartridge is easy and no more messy than a convertor refill. Bock isn't any better the Jowo, but both are better the a IPG nib, lol. best writer is the pilot custom 823, the Lamy 2000 is meh. but the pilot Metropolitan is a great writer and solves all your pen complaints and is only 20 bucks.
@PatrisDev5 жыл бұрын
I'd say that the Lamy 2000 is a wonderful writer, but to each their own. Agree about the pocket full of ink - while the pen will not get damaged, the pocket is just asking to be stained blue.

Josh W I'm down on fountain pens for EDC and mostly carry a Boker CAL .50 or retractable Fisher space pen. My AL Sport still manages to find its way into my pocket every now and then, though.

pens that suck are free. just got my 1st fountain pen (Lamy Safari w/ ef nib) and it writes better then any pen or pencil for that matter. If you hardly write then I wouldn't say it's worth it. However if your writing alot it's totally worth it. Heck you can even get sub 10$ fountain pens that with a little work can write decent.
