More about information about the pen:
Box:
The Kaweco Liliput comes in the standard Kaweco tin box with the retro Kaweco designs in relief on it. The inner-tray gives room to either one or two pens. There is also room for a box of ink cartridges. This unique tin box makes the Kaweco pen a special gift.
Materials.
Editions. (colour options):
The Kaweco Liliput is currently available in 5 different editions. There are two versions made of aluminum in black and silver. The Liliput made with brass is available with a plain finish, or with the waves. All four mentioned editions come as both a fountain pen and a ballpoint. The Copper, Stainless steel and the Fireblue versions are only available as a fountain pen.
The Fireblue in specific looks very spectacular, this version of the Liliput is made of stainless steel and hand-torched until it has a unique pattern of enchanting colors ranging from light brown to purple to blue. Due this color variation, each pen is unique and will have its own color combination which may vary from the Fireblue shown in the video.
Features:
The Kaweco Liliput is a very small pen, closed it only measures 97mm. The only way to write with this fountain pen is to cap it. To make this easier Kaweco did a great job with a thread on the end of the pen so you easily screw the cap on the end of the barrel and it fits quite sturdy, now the pen measures 126mm and is ready to write!
The Kaweco logo is nicely engraved on the top of the cap, while the name Kaweco and Liliput Germany is also there.
Noticeable is the lack of a fixed clip on the Liliput. It is possible however to have a spare clip slided on the pen to add this extra feature. Please be aware that the clip for the ballpoint and the fountain pen are different in size, since the diameter of both pens is different.
Nib options
The nib on the Kaweco Liliput fountain pen is a customized BOCK produced stainless steel nib. The Kaweco logo is engraved on the nib, right underneath the breather hole and the sides are engraved with some nice adornments and engraved with the tekst Germany and Since 1883. The nib also mentions the nib width which is Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad or Double Broad. Since the nib can be changed quite easily by screwing it out of the pen, it can also be replaced by a 14kt gold nib, for a smoother writing experience.
Filling mechanism:
The fountain pen uses the standard international small cartridges, unfortunately it is not possible to use a converter in this small pen. Because this fountain pen is produced as a convenient pocket sized pen, the convenient cartridges fits perfectly with it. The ballpoint pens in the Kaweco Liliput series use the D1 ballpoint refills
Dimensions and comparison:
The Kaweco Liliput is a super tiny fountain pen, and probably the smallest in the world! It measures closed 97mm and capped only 126mm. The diameter of this pen is 9mm. The aluminium pens are about 9 grams, all other versions weight about 23 grams.
