KDB knows when to release the ball and when to shoot. Foden's in the form of his life, but his first instinct these days is the shoot, no matter the distance from goal or who may be in a better position. And that's great when he does score. Not so much when he fails to score and ignores team mates in better positions in the same process.

Everyone comparing a still developing Foden to prime KDB... pretty sure KDB wasn't as good as Foden is when he was that age... Foden still developing and yet to given a real chance in his preferred role... lets just wait until Foden hits his prime before making comparisons

@59They're just different types of players. Foden will never be like KDB, and KDB will never be like Foden. I believe Kevin was 23 the year before he got so much attention at Wolfsburg and was bought by Man City the following season. But players these days generally peak much earlier than they did in the past, so I'm not so sure if that comparison really matters in terms of potential.

For the 2nd goal, Haaland didn't look back once for KDB's pass. He just ran away from the defender and KDB made the ball magically appear at Haaland's feet. The skill and chemistry between the two is insane.

@draoicht22 I have the utmost faith in Pep as a manager. Obviously Erling's father was a blue. Which played a part in him coming to City. But I think working under Pep also influenced Haaland's decision. Fans can forget he's only 23. And he's already got the hardest part of playing a striker down. Scoring goals!

When he scored that fifth goal, he looked at KDB thinking finally, someone else assists me. I also saw in his eyes how glad he was to have KDB back when he scored the third and fourth goal. The way he looked at him. Hopefully he scores another bunch of goals in the next few games. They've got a very easy game this weekend, so I'm expecting another KDB and Haaland masterclass

As much as people worship KDB for his passing & playmaking which he thoroughly deserves lets not minimize the gift that Haaland has been to KDB as well. Haaland is a world class playmaker's dream in the same manner that KDB is world class striker's dream. Kudos to both

As astonishing as Haalands five goal performance was, there was another City player some years ago ( in 1961) who scored SIX goals at Luton, ironically in the same competition, the FA Cup ..... Denis Law! The trouble for him and City was, that he scored six goals and the game got abandoned because of torrential rain with 20 minutes to go ... with City leading 6-2! Law then scored AGAIN, in the replayed game four days later .... but City lost the game 3-1!
