Synopsis: Gongsun Li, a beautiful commoner, has been studying Kung Fu from her grandfather alongside two senior apprentices ever since she was a little girl. During her youth, she saves a boy named Ying Zheng, who later becomes the King of Qin. Her world is turned upside down when war breaks out amongst the warring states and her grandfather is killed by the Qin army. As a result, Gongsun Li is forced to flee her hometown. Her longtime senior, Jing Kie, is then poisoned for attempting to protect her. In order to obtain the cure for Jing Ke, Gongsun Li chooses to marry the king, Ying Zheng, who is responsible for invading her nation and murdering her grandfather. Soon after, Gongsun Li discovers that she is pregnant with Jing Kie’s child. When Ying Zheng’s discovers Gongsun Li’s pregnancy, he comes to her aid by claiming that he is the father of the child, which deeply moves Gongsun Li. In order to ensure the safety of Gongsun Li and her child, Han Shen, Gongsun Li’s other senior, chooses to become an imperial bodyguard in the palace. Faced with the dangers and perils of life in the palace, Gongsun Li develops into a strong woman and eventually earns people’s respect through her wisdom and kindness.

This movie is one of a kind the king is very wise n smart he knows how to deal with the people who betrayed him... n true that when it comes to that kind of position never trust any one but sometimes he is being cruel because of what happened when he was young..can't blame him coz he was being bullied when he was young (traumatized )....on the other hand everything is worth it...i enjoyed watching it... thank you the kings woman very nice movie....i dont know the ending yet but i know this is a great movie...😊😊😊😊

This is not love! It's an obsession and need for possession from the beginning in tandem with lack of trust on his side only suspicion. When there's no trust as the foundation then there's no romantic love but something toxic. That's what his character is TOXIC.

Am i the only one who knew the ending but still warching this drama? When I'm searching for top cdramas recommendations i ended up clicking the reviews and they said it has a sad ending but i still watch this because i got curious. Some of you maybe stop watching this because of the ending but i find the story entertaining and mysterious. I love every episodes esp lier and kings moments.

I surprised the story about ying zheng and assasination from jing ke are true. The only fictional thing is Madam Li and romance. I congratulate the writer of this story because he/she successfully narrate the life first emperor of life and character and successfully embed a fictional love story to the main story. Impressive 👍

The King got Li'er by force but with all his effort he got her love. It may not be acceptable at first but they did fell in love with each other. That is still love. And the fact that Ming Ting was cared by the King, yes that is love

I like the king’s wisdom and his devotion to madam Li. Since childhood he never forget her good deeds to him and searched for her till he made her fall in love with him....I wish there is no sad ending between them.... I don’t know about this Jeng Ki, he is blinded by hatred even Han spoke and explained to him the possible consequence of his future actions, yet he is unstoppable....I don’t know what’s next?

It doesn't sound right since that lord says the King has been on the throne for 10 years and the King responds he was on the throne when he was 13. Fusu is older than Tiang min. He looked like 4-5 years old when Lier got into the palace. How old was the King when he had Fusu?

Li was 18years old when she was pregnant with Tianming. Jing Ke was 21years old, Ying Zheng I think about 22years old at that time, and Han Shen is 10years older than Li, it means, he was around 28years old at the beginning of the series. So, eventhough time skip by 10years, they will not change that much. Jingke originally is a cool type. He is only into swordmanship since young age, no interest with romance at all. Except for Li'er, he has no interest with any girls. As per Legend of Qin, he is actually The Mohist Leader. It's an Anti-Qin organization. As its Leader he must be very busy for so many years. And the preparation for the assassination plan was also takes about exactly 3years, so I guess he really has no time for romance. As why Li cannot be pregnant with King, there was no clear explanation about it. In the novel, she only has one child, that is only Tianming.

And about queen matter it depended on the king's mood.. Whom he loved most.. Fvrt concubine fact u know.. He wanted to make li'er queen but she never accepted that position

I really enjoy this movie watching for the second time anyway my sympathy goes to jing ke bcos he is so stupid getting killed atlast without fufiling his assignment on assasinating the king he is so overconfident of his self and undermine the scary king am also sorry for madam li the king kill her bcos of his suspicious act she cannot be fully trusted by the king atlast and the king end up been lonely atlast still the scary king didn't commit murder despite the fact that he is afraid of being lonely all the time and he still wish for eternal life what a human

I wish the story was different and I wish it ended happily somehow instead. I keep seeing many comments from people who think that some of the story line is really dumb, that Jing Ke is just a stubborn idiot that was being used by the crown prince, and that General Fan and Tian Guang died for stupid reasons. It is stupid but in reality that part of the story is actually true. Jing Ke was a real person who was working with Dan of Yan and made a failed assassination attempt at killing the King, he almost succeeded. And Jing Ke did suggest that General Fan slit his own throat so that he could present his head to the king. They had to find a way to get him close to the king. General Fan lost his family and he had no will to live at that point so he was willing.

What's getting me is the Crown Prince and Master Ting are so deep into the King's action that they haven't even noticed that he was not even studying them or the State of Yan. Like if he really wanted the Crown Prince back he would have done so a long time ago. Although the King is to be blamed for a lot of the fear people has for him, his Army also has a part to play. A few episodes back the way they treated Li'er and him is a clear sign of that, as they didn't know who they were.

Why would Tian Ming be studying Confucius classic in Qin Kingdom when Legalism was the state philosophy? And didn't Ying Zheng himself even say he hates Confucius's teachings so shouldn't he have already banned its teachings in his kingdom and not allow his heirs to learn about it?

But in the novel he indeed already studying confucianism during his time in the palace with Fu Nian as his teacher. But in Qin Moon, he will study confucianism later during his incognito in Shanghai, together with his bestfriend Xiang Yu (the last noble from the Kingdom of Chu, who later will overthrow Qin Dinasty). In real historical fact, the banned of Confucianism learning will be later after he uniting China. He also will buried alive hundreds of Confucianist scholar, although Fusu try his best to reject it. Afterward Fusu got punish and got sent to the north to join General Meng Tian.

This is also my greatest regret. After you read the novel, u will know how pitiful Tianming is. I wish Jing Ke can meet with his son. This is because of Han Shen fault. He didn't let him know about his son as soon as possible. I really love Jing Ke from the start, he is an amazing character. The only one in this story who is stay to true to himself till the end. That's why Liji only love and respect him so much ❤ he is her "real" husband. She follows him even to death. In the novel she was taken suicide by drinking poison.

Anaste1980 i feel relieved cause we’re on the same boat! When I read my novel, i kept thinking Jing Ke is stupid and dumb. But as soon as I came to this drama, he was the most pitiful character. He grew up together with Li, shared the same burden and vengeance, learned martial art with the same mentor, but then Ying Zheng ruined everything and even in the end claiming that Jing Ke stolen her woman?! Lol. But everyone knew Jing Ke is too impulsive, probably that’s why they thought hiding the truth is better for him.

I also recommend you to watch Legend of Qin (Drama Ver.) After watching it, I think you will found another clues about Jing Ke's final death. He has a dilemma. So, he allowed himself to be killed by the King's Sword. If it wasn't for his dilemma, YZ would have died. He was so lucky just getting a scratch on his face. Jing Ke was mocking him at the end with his bloody laughter. That one was so freaking killer...... YZ can still live just because of JK mercy. That's why he became so traumatized after this event and became the real Qin Shi Huang.

Those who blame & calling Jing Ke/Yan Dan as selfish, might won't say what you said if you clearly understand the truth.... You might not like to know the truth, but they are actually the real Hero in this Story. (Wikipedia can give you the proper answer. And This Series is actually based on a SEQUEL for "The Legend of Qin", which is the Season 2 of this story). This drama is intentionally lacking in explaining fact & didn't explicitly open up about crucial information on purpose. Because they have something bigger to protect. Similar with Li'er who has to "Conceal" her true feeling in order to protect her precious Jing Ke & their son. So, as an audience we are the one who should be more observant to find out the truth, which is hidden under the surface. Otherwise most of you will feel cheated at the end.... 🙄🤐🤔 The winner of this drama is actually the "Scriptwriter".

Jing Ke is not a good lover. He doesn't cherish the love of both Lier and Laner. Madam Li sacrifice her happiness for his life and freedom. Now he risk his life, her life and his son when coming to the palace. He keeps using to fulfill his master last wish- but hey, his master wish is not risking his daughter (Madam Li) life by assassinate the king

grandfatjers last wish was protect the people, martial art wont be more protective than becoming the empress governor them on their behalf, besides the king owner of everyone on tje palm of your hand to be just to them, so theres no script thatbcan valid their reasons, a martial art isnt more influential than protecrion and help being tje queen can get, theyre just jelous of her and wanting to chase her and use the people as excuse.
