As an animator I really appreciate the animation, they where 4 people making a whole movie in just one year and someone still took the time to carefully sculpt those bear cheeks on the girl bear. It was probably their way of taking a break from the madness

I've been watching Amazing World of Gumball out of boredom recently and found that in Season 2 episode 10 they reference this movie with a similar-looking panda character (blue headband, not purple) and the exact same horrid animation style. Note that in the show it's called "How to Ratatwong your Panda" and discussing how it's a "mockbuster from the bargain bin". I skimmed the actual movie for the scene since it looked like a clip taken straight out of it, couldn't find it and was shocked. love me some subtle roasting

There are 2 options for whats happening with the animation A) the animators were having a blast, probably getting a bit tipsy and realizing after 3 hours they’ve made no progress, like a group project with friends Or B) the animators were miserable, trying to make ends meet and working on an *extreme* time crunch and just trying to get it done, probably running on 2 hours of sleep for the whole week

@@m5676 ehh, looks like these movies have almost no budget and probably make a lot off of confused parents and grandparents. If they were losing money, they wouldn't make more movies. That's probably the most infuriating thigh about this, they don't even have to try, and they make their money in immoral ways. Kinda sucks cause actual good animators sometimes can't get as much recognition. It makes for fun content though ig

@Yetch To be fair, you have to have pretty high EQ to catch all of the subtle mimic expressions in the Little Panda Fighter. The movie is not some body language rookie "Lie to me" kind of bs and it let's you know that from the beginning. You don't have to be a skilled reader, for example, to recognise there is some terror hidden in Pancadas smile. But you have to be a man of delusion if you think something this horrifying can be just an animation blunder and not an elaborate, insideful artistic choice. The terror in his smile in the end, for instance, is expressing Pancadas realisation that his dreams about dancing carrier were in reality empty and not really fulfilling, perhaps just a distraction from some deeper intellectual needs, but he is not yet ready to admit that to himself, so he just keeps playing this sharade of shallow happiness, which is an obvious set up for Little Panda Fighter part 2 - the rise of the dancing Queen. The genius in these details is that they are DESIGNED to psychologically repel and physically hurt the eyes of the common sheeple, while broadcasting a really complex stream of emotions that only few are equipped to catch. And yes, I have a smiling Pancada tattoo and no, you can't see it. It's carefully hidden from the eyes of the commoners to keep them safe
