On top of that, Amanda is voiced by Wendee Lee, who also voiced Faye Valentine, Conan from Detective Conan, Athena Sykes, was the dubbing director for cyberpunk edgerunners, and was in a ton of other stuff. This movie has a surprisingly impressive cast.

You know what really bothers me? At the beginning, they introduce a laser gun that shoots salt onto food. The way they defeat the monsters is with salt. Yet literally NOBODY even considers using the concentrated salt laser at any point in the movie.

15:50 Once my dad, siblings, and I were hiking along a river and stopped for a bit to rest, skip rocks, etc. When we were done and went on our merry way, I heard from behind me my little brother screaming bloody murder. I turned around and saw him staring at his hand, jumping around in horror and tears. My dad then calmly walked up to him and gave a loud SMACK to his cheek and he immediately stopped screaming out of shock. Turns out there was a leech the size of a grain of rice on his thumb from the river. The situation turned into all of us hysterically laughing, including my little brother. I asked him later why he thought he was gonna die and even he didn't know. Overall, this slapping method hilariously works.

This movie missed a massive opportunity to call back to the salt laser from the beginning. At the end, they shrink the monsters with salt, but they use packets of peanuts. They could've had Gunto accidentally repair the Salt Laser while playing with it and then using it at the end to beat the baddies. But other than that, of course, this movie is flawless.

i wanted to comment on that and was delighted to see someone had already noticed it. when we were kids, my mom bought me and my brother that dvd and we watched it religiously. idk why we liked it so much, but i saw that movie, like, a hundred times. it took me by surprise to see that poster in the video, but it also made me very nostalgic and happy.

I like that they didn't even go for like... a fairly common easy trope of misunderstanding. In most movies... or let's be honest, in most 10 minute mediocre-to-poor-quality kids *TV* episodes, the good aliens would have sent a message that through some interference in the signal or poor word choice/lack of context/ whatever SOUNDED like a threat making the humans think the aliens were hostile. But through either figuring the true meaning out or somehow unscrambling the signal the kids would find out how to defeat the monsters. But in this case the professor gets a message that makes no sense. He just goes "This makes no sense" and then later AFTER they've both found out how to subdue the monsters AND found out the aliens aren't evil they find out "Oh yeah, we were trying to warn you." but the message NEVER MATTERED because they figured both things out through other means and also never connected the dots.

The company that made these movies made more animated rip-offs, including Ratatoing. They ripped-off Cars with a movie called "The Little Cars in the Great Race." The company called Video Brinquendo is from Brazil, so the movies are translated rom Porteguese.

Back of the envelope math, the meteor impact would probably not have killed Gunto. 7:57 However, the shockwave would have left his ears ringing and he might get some superficial injuries from high speed ejecta. I’d be more concerned with the fact he picked up a rock that a: would be below freezing from it’s time in space and could cause some contact burns and B that it is glowing bright Green which means it’s giving off some low level radioactivity. 13:20 oh christ well. Now we have a problem. Dr Crumb is probably dead. Ingesting anything that glows that colour means you’ve just put a radioactive source into your body.
