As someone with epilepsy and a multitude of other health conditions I think educating each other about health scares, warning signs, symptoms etc. Is great especially when dealing with individuals, like children, who can't tell you whats happening or how they are feeling. It is up to the people around them to know when something is wrong and get them the medical attention they may need and sharing these kinds of stories can help others to know what they should look out for however this kind of education should only be done with the full privacy of the affected individuals in mind. Their children are unfortunately already widely known in the public sphere so they have little to no privacy already but to just violate what little may remain by sharing images with the child in said situation is disgusting. Having a seizure or other major health scare is already traumatizing enough without having the whole world getting front row seats to the event. I truly hope their children are alright and hopefully this does not turn into some recurring issue.

With someone who has seizures I would be absolutely mortified if someone shared my episodes without my consent (there is videos for my neurologist) but if it was shared with my consent that would be different. the behavior of a sick kid is more important than the fever. My daughter has high fevers, (102 almost everytime she’s sick) and naturally I freaked out and took her to ER and they said it’s pretty bad to over medicate for a fever. So unless she has a loss of appetite, lethargy, not wanting to play etc, then try not to medicate just for a fever. Obviously I’m not a medical professional and you should contact your doctor with these questions, but this is my experience with always taking my daughter run when her fever goes in over 102

I was so afraid that I developed panic attacks. As a person who has seizures they are so person, as all health conditions are. I would be mortified if I someone uploaded a video showing them. Not to say that it’s shameful or wrong in anyway. I’m not broken or demon possessed as Christian’s has told me, nor is anyone else. But it’s private. It’s my life. And no one else’s business.

I 100% agree. When I first began having seizures I was terrified not only of this sudden health condition I was having to navigate but of being seen during an episode. I developed an anxiety disorder, had frequent panic attacks, and to this day vividly remember the trauma of having a tonic clonic seizure in the middle of a large school event and the embarrassment, fear, and bullying that stemmed from it. The thought of possibly having that photographed/recorded and shared online for everyone to see is horrifying. I understand that not all seizures are as extreme in appearance as tonic clonic ones and education on epilepsy and seizures should be more widespread however that can be done without showing real life images especially when dealing with someone who can't consent to that being shared, like children.

It was the reason why I decided to never post my daughter on social media as she grew up. 😞

Now imagine how many mean comments these family vloggers get like that… yet they continue to post their kids, knowing their kids will one day see every single cruel or hateful comment about them… yet they still post. It’s insane.

I think it’s good to let parents know about the high fever causing seizures. When I was less than 1 year old I was sick and my mom gave me a bath. The heat from the tub caused me to have a seizure. But I couldn’t imagine my mom taking picture when that happened and post it online. She said it was the most traumatic moment in her life.

Its scary these people have so many kids. They don’t take care of their children. They don’t give fever reducing medicine. Even when Everleigh was atleast 5 Sav and Cole didn’t even own a thermometer. They are just so irresponsible. I don’t know how Savannah’s mom even allowed her to move out on her own.

I hate the idea that because their kids already have no privacy - that the damage is done and they don’t deserve privacy going towards. That’s so stupid. Their kid’s medical issues should not public information. And if you are looking at family bloggers for resources on children’s health experiences - please, please find another source.

My nephew had two seizures at night it had nothing to do with his blood sugar or high fever he just randomly have it when you can’t get pregnant naturally if you do in vitro or like any of those IVF drugs. That can lead to a seizure because your baby isn’t getting developed and wasn’t developed naturally. Watch when they get to at least two to one seizure your baby can get delay when it comes to speech and sometimes when the baby is just growing it’s too much for the brain to handle can lead to a seizure And if your child is a little bit delay sometimes it’s normal or something could be wrong.

honestly, not a huge fan of family channels. though my child does watch a select few. (I monitor and strongly suggest against certain ones.) But aside from that, when it was mentioned about the CPR thing, I have to say even if you're up to date on how to do it; when you're in the situation panic may take over and you can completely forget how to perform life saving techniques. I remember my daughter choked on something when she was an infant and I could barely speak and froze for a moment. luckily her dad wss there and cleared her airway. I am normally good under high stress situations. however, it just goes to show you sometimes just dont know how you're going to react.

Not only new parents should know cpr, EVERYONE should know cpr. That aside, family channels that wouldn’t exist without the children need to go or they need to create laws around it that protect the children. Mommy/daddy channels primarily based on the parents with occasional kids in the background of a video is different.

Ok the first thing she said really annoyed me about the documentary about pro life. Because I believe that women should not have a choice to bring a baby into the world or to kill the baby. Think about it like this if you were that baby and your mother decided to kill you, you wouldn’t be alive right now! So aren’t you glad your mom decided to keep you and love you for who you are. And yes I do understand that there are some situations where kids are put into foster care because the parent/guardian couldn’t provide for them or abused them, but I do see that situation a little different, deffinetly not okey but different, because at least your mother decided to keep you. And also god had a plan for that baby, and tried to bring that baby into the world for a reason! Remember God has a plan for everything whether it is the way you planned it or not!

Whenever a child has a fever that rises too fast, it can cause a seizure. It's not so much about how high they get but how fast they get there. They're called febrile seizures and I think the doctor said about 5% of kids have them. Out of that 5% I believe 25-35% have family members who suffered from them. Luckily if they're febrile seizures they grow out of them but if they don't then they do tests to see if it's epilepsy. My son has had 2 and the first was scary because he was shaking and his eyes rolled back but it wasn't very long. It was over quick and we made sure to turn him on his side so when he snapped out of it he didn't choke on his vomit which he did right after. The second one was the scariest moment of my life. I honestly thought I lost him because he bot o ky was unresponsive but he stopped breathing and was turning purple. I called 911 as soon as he starting seizing and couldn't stop crying after noticing he wasn't breathing and finally he took a deep breath but was still unresponsive and had very abnormal breathing even after that. He finally woke up out of that state even they were putting him in the ambulance and didn't stop screaming until after they medicated him at the hospital. His fever got to 105° and being at a dangerously high level they released him only after theu were able to break it and had him at a normal temp but he continued to spike for 3 days so we were in and out of the hospital and I made sure to never leave his side for a single second. Also for any parent who hasn't dealt with fevers much, you can alternate between Tylenol and ibuprofen so they can take the meds sooner and help break the fever and not let it spike.

@@kenna7014 Agree. Isn’t that big a deal though and doesn’t require such a big production. Not like other seizures. As long as fevers are kept low enough will not happen again, not a chronic issue, no need for cpr, etc.

idk, about them giving advice cause like they said they're not sure. the son needs to see a neurologist first, cause once he is diagnosed they inform and almost teach the parents how to deal with them. im a epileptic myself, all of what they said is harmful and not helpful, other then them saying to be calm and remember cpr, but even then doing that while having a seizure is just as bad as trying to put something in the mouth to stop biting the tongue, it'll only make the person choke on their tongue and worse.

If someone is not old enough to give consent, they should not be recorded and their personal medical issues, their image, and everything else usually protected, should not be put out on the world wide web, the entire world, to every single person, until they can give consent. Parents that do this, do this for money and nothing else. I record everything about my children, medical issues as well, but I share them with their doctors and no one else. If anyone has medical questions, You Tube and the internet ARE NOT the places they should go. There are actual professionals that have answers.

Exactly those family channels are disgusting because without their kids they can't create normal content . It's a free labor for those kids, just like you pointed out if it was a reality show they would literally get paid. But even that was there are many Disney Chanel's stars claiming their parents stole money from them that they were suppose to put on saving account. It's all just very sad.

Parents that vlog their children and then upload those videos on the internet... need to be aware that child predators are pleasuring themselves to the videos you upload of your kids!! It's disgusting. And parents need to protect their children over living a luxurious lifestyle. If you aren't entertaining enough to keep an audience by yourself then you shouldn't be doing it.
