John can you put a marker of some description on your pots, maybe one different coloured rope so that when you do find them you have evidence that they are your pots? You now have thousands of people keeping an eye out for your pots. Lets go team !

My Sundays normally end with me watching live blues bands in my best mates pub, I then go home and cook a roast for myself and daughter (single parent) and I watch your films which are absolutely brilliant... Spiny lobster season just started here in California. Been pretty slow so far, but the season lasts quite a while. Not the first time you've had some yob taking your gear. It's really crappy.

Never know what the future holds but rest assured it holds a great deal of Joy for you and yours. Hi John, these days there are various small GPS tracking devices available, and they are getting cheaper and cheaper, so might be an option for next year's pots. You would then always be able to find your pots whether in a gully or in a thief's back yard. Would have to be inside a waterproof container though.

Hate a thief. I have a property here in New York State, no problem with thieves(so far), but you would be amazed by how many people through their litter and rubbish on my land. I am constantly cleaning up my beautiful land from these derelicts. What is wrong with people. Hope and pray you get your red pots back. Excellent video my man.

At you newer video you have disconnected the command box, it was nice to see you boat tock no damage in the reacant storm and for the second time I enjoied the mussel Video, what an easy place to harvest some wonderful and clean mussels.

Another great, informative vid. Bad show having your pots stolen and messed with. Almost impossible to police unless you had your pots close to shore with cameras looking out. Those scallops looked fantastic.

why don't you attach an "Air-tag" to the pots, that way you could track them down

Idiot thieves, anyhows John many thanks for another great video, was down your neck of woods back in Sept what a lovely part of the country you live, visited Padstow and Wadebridge mainly stayed in St Issey

I think I say this every year, geo-track or geo-cache your pots. Then you can track them above water. Cached can track below to certain depths.

Thoroughly enjoyed that again with some top bonus footage. 7 Different Videos in one! It was great to see that float just siting off that obstruction just urging it to go down..Neatly hooked Fish too and reminding me that a treble isn't the only hook to use ! Exciting stuff with the Cuttle too Thanks for the reminder for playing them slowly, Is it the same when playing squid ? "What wouldn't want to eat that" very true about live prawns. I have seen small Bass knock Prawns before engulfing them (like the bigger ones do with Live Mackerel). 100 percent agree about the seabed fascination and what a great bit of underwater investigation work. Lovely to see the. Better Bass and then a Pollack surprise. Again the Livescope is Brilliant it seems to be the clearest i've seen. I appreciate you have lots of comments to answer but quick Question - Can you make a good guess at wether the Live-scope fish are Pollack or Bass ? Are there any clues when observing their depth in the water column or behaviour ? Great to see whats in the pots and just as we think its all over out comes the Huss. A thoroughly engaging Video mate. Look forward to the Squid/Cuttle upload.

You will no doubt be planning to catch the thieves, when you catch them you are allowed to use them for bait.

Very good John and thanks for showing us the Man o' War close up - rarely do we get to see that. We know you work hard with your pots and it's therefore nothing more than downright foul play and nastiness to steal them, let alone to simply empty them.

There are bounders, cads and scalliwags in every walk of life. Just remember, Karma is an extremely large and vicious female dog! My, what a beautiful day! The cuttle fish was just freakin' adorable!

Thieving little 💩 's , not good John. I'd stick a couple of dummy pots out. Seal them up with some plastic lobsters and maybe a plastic hand grenade, give em a shock. Maybe do some drone patrolling for a week, see if you can spot the buggers. Them Gurnards are funny. Used to get them of sid the fish van man, taste lovely. Your still the best matey, always looking on the bright side 👌

Do you think the pot robbers work at night? It'd be great to catch them, especially to film it. I love watching you hauling the pots, it's great when there's a lobster or two in them. i do hope that you find out whos been nicking your pots or catch them in the act ,and then expose them on you tube so every viewer can see who it is and other fisher persons.

Totally understand about the pots. Here in Queensland Australia, we suffer the same fate with our crab pots set out for mud crabs.. Chances are about 70% of either raiding or total theft any time you set pots. Makes for very angry and expensive venture .

Suggestion. Contact as many fishing socks and marinas along the coast and give descriptions of missing lots especially the red ones

John, another fantastic video. Thank you. For every good guy out there, pond life will appear trying to take advantage, people who are jealous or just greedy and crooked. In a small community like yours there will always be the usual suspects and probably known. I can't believe any big commercial boat would risk prosecution lifting and stealing both the contents and the pots of a small recreational fisherman. Your patience is remarkable. By colouring your pots you have made a step. You could insert identifying labels inside the tubular structure of new pots and weld your name onto the mdpe tubes too. Anything to make them unique. Unfortunately people like this are more likely to lift these pots, steal the contents regardless of size and either dump them overboard unroped or burn them onshore....too big a risk to be caught using easily identified pots from another boat. What a World we live in. I'd be terribly tempted to spend next year laying strings of concrete blocks using the oldest rope I had. Waste their time. They'd never know after the first three blocks whether you had three pots after, then another three blocks :-)
