Excellent insights, among which are helping me understand better what the fullness of the Gospel is, and a reminder of who the anointed are that we should not speak evil of. And in our missionary charity we should look at all of our fellow beings as potentially anointed even if they have not been to the temple yet

I would just like to add, how many times in the BOM it describes the Gospel as Faith, Repentance, Baptism. Gift of the Holy Ghost, and ENDURE TO THE END. that's why we must continue to live Faith and Repentance

Around 3:30 ish I would suggest some other reasons. In a talk given by the Apostle Dallin H. Oaks called “Talking Upon US the Name of Jesus Christ” he states: It is significant that when we partake of the sacrament we do not witness that we take upon us the name of Jesus Christ. We witness that we are willing to do so. (See D&C 20:77.) The fact that we only witness to our willingness suggests that something else must happen before we actually take that sacred name upon us in the most important sense. What future event or events could this covenant contemplate? The scriptures suggest two sacred possibilities, one concerning the authority of God, especially as exercised in the temples, and the other-closely related-concerning exaltation in the celestial kingdom. I agree with what you are saying, but let me take you to a higher level. There are three reasons why the Law of the gospel is one of the covenants of the temple. The first is that, even though one must be baptized to go to the temple, most people have not repented of their sins and have not been born again. I was baptized at the age of 8, but I was not born again until I was 23. The second reason is because the covenants of the temple are the basis for the trials God puts us through so he can sanctify us. The third reason is, like you mention, there is a lot more to the Gospel then faith, repentance and baptism. The first principles of the law of the gospel are exercising faith in Jesus Christ to repent of you sins. The next principle of the law of the gospel it to love and forgive God and others. The commandments of Jesus in the sermon on the mount are the other principles of the law of gospel. Matthew 5-7. Do not be angry. Do not lust. Do not divorce. Be perfect in love as your father in heaven is perfect in love. Do not swear, Do not do things just to be seen of men. Do not lay up treasures on earth, but lay up treasures in heaven. Keep an eye single to the glory of God. Do not worry, Seek to be sanctified. Do not judge. Do not find fault. Do not give your tithes to false prophets and do not give your wealth to the rich. Ask of God. Seek for what you ask for and when God leads you to the things you ask for, do what you need to do to obtain it. Do good unto others. Enter the strait gate. Jesus is the gate. Walk the narrow way which is the commandments and sayings of Jesus. Beware of false prophets. Look at their fruits and listen to their testimonies to see if they truly testify of Jesus. Build you house on the Rock. Jesus is the rock. The first ordinance of the gospel is baptism. What is baptism all about? Our God is a covenant God. God says, "If you will keep my commandments as contained in the old and new testaments, I the Lord, will bless you and cleanse you, purify you and sanctify you and bring you into my presence. If you do not keep my commandments you will be left to the natural consequences of the broken law." There are four things for making a valid contract. 1. For a contract of be valid, one must read and understand the contract. 2. One must be of legal age. 3. The contract must be administered by a lawful agent. 4. Both parties to the contact must sign the contract. The contract we make is in the Bible and reiterated in the Book of Mormon. So read the contract and understand the commandments and sayings of Jesus. In the LDS, the legal age is eight. Before baptizing their children, the parents should have taught their children, at least the ten commandments, but they should also teach their children the sermon on the mount. The next ordinances of the gospel are receiving priesthood. Having priesthood makes one a lawful agent of God to administer baptism and laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. Baptism and the laying on of hand are signatures to sign the contract to keep the commandments and sayings of Jesus. Having a valid contact with God makes one a citizen in the kingdom of God.

This is really interesting. Is there any info on the history of the covenants? In the original endowment there were only 3: law of sacrifice, obedience, and vengeance. I'm really interested in the law of the gospel and when it was added. I'm thinking in the seventies because the language seems to mirror Spencer w Kimball. Any info on the history? Thanks

Sister, are you conflating the gospel, with the law appertaining thereto? The gospel - even the fulness thereof - pertains to the Melchizedek priesthood. Yet, the covenant to live the law of the gospel pertains to the Aaronic priesthood. And, this law of the gospel is contrasted further with the law of Moses. The law of Moses was fulfilled by the Great and Last Sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, we seem required to live the law of the gospel as a solemn preparation to comply with the fulness and, indeed, the holiness of the gospel.

Don't confuse the gospel of Christ with the Doctrine of Christ. The Law of the Gospel is outlined in the sermon on the mount, both in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon. Christ gave these laws to every group of people he visited. Note that the Law of the Gospel is given in the Tillesial world; this is a clue that what we need to do in this world is explained by Christ in his sermons. We also have a charge, which is additional commandments that we need to follow in this world. The Law of Obedience and Sacrifice was made in the pre-existence, represented by the garden of Eden. It is important to always notice the context of each and every covenant we make in the temple.

Hello The gospel is the gospel of the kingdom! Jesus is going to return and set up the kingdom of God ON THE EARTH! God’s government ON THE EARTH! The Messiah died for his people! God resurrected the Messiah! The Messiah will resurrect his people at his coming! The destiny of the Messiah and his people is to be ON THE EARTH! The renewed restored earth! God also dwelling with them! Rev 21 Matt 24 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Jesus said the Father is the only true God! John 17 3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

I appreciate learning about ordinances and covenants and how well you present yourself and these topics in your videos. I am concerned with how sacred temple practices and beliefs are offered to those not prepared to receive it. Too bad this could not be a channel offered to only those of us who already have the common denominator of being believers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and wanting to increase our knowledge through our personal study. Sacred beliefs are being opened to ridicule. Which is not your fault.

I asked a few missionaries what is the gospel according to the Bible don't you know that not one of them knew what the gospel is the gospel is the coming of the kingdom of God this Earth Jesus would live here on this Earth ruling the world from Jerusalem is written all over the Bible

The Gospel does not include a temple full of ordinaces, rituals and laws. It is the blood of Jesus that God has made available to obtain the Kingdom of God. There is no rule or performance to reach God, the Mormons live in the old law, they do not realize that Gods righteousness comes by Jesus, you must trust in Him, if you say you trust in Him, then your actions must show it. Proverbs explains it very well 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. With your temple rituals you are denying Jesus, you are saying, He is not enough, we must, fabricate a facade to receive Gods rewards, but Jesus is all you need.
