In an attempt to justify some of the material on this channel, at least one of the videos it provides quotes Bres Bednar as saying “that “We may discuss the basic purposes of, and /the doctrine and principles associated with, the Temple ordinances and covenants.” Which, of course, is perfectly correct and understandable However it is interesting - and important - to note that Pres Bednar has not said (or has ever said) that it is appropriate for us to discuss THE DETAILS of any of the Temple procedures outside of the Temple. As far as I am aware, that instruction continues to be given to new Patrons at the temple today.

Although I understand why you feel that way, I respectfully disagree. She has not discussed anything that violates covenants or prophetic direction, and everything she has discussed is scriptural. Let's not confuse "sacred" and "secret". She's shared the thoughts, meanings, and parallels she's found, because it brings her closer to Christ, and wants to share that fruit. Precisely *because* it is sacred to her, taking great care to sight scriptures, refrain from sharing any specifics she ought not to, and even calling this out as a matter of her respect for the sacred nature of it. Personally, I think many people are antsy about anything temple-related when it's not something super obvious, out of fear, and I find *that* bothersome to good image of the temple & the church. I would suggest that if the temple is registering in your psyche as a fear tactic, you might address whatever unhealthy dynamic has caused that. I highly doubt the God of love wants you to operate and react out of fear, nor impose that on others. I say, props to her for sharing her testimony and insights, within clearly outlined respectful boundaries, about something so important to her, hoping to increase appreciation and meaning for God's sacred house for others. Even moreso because it would have been easier to just not, amidst the cultural milieu that we see here. This is not a rebuke, just a fair perspective (as is yours), though I hope it gives someone encouragement to frame God less on terms of fear and not stepping on a crack, and more in terms of being proud of you for walking the path in the best way that you walk the path and for helping others to do so too.

@ceci robe Your initial comment was respectfully stated, and positively directed, and the feelings valid. But, I do know that a nontrivial level of internalized fear and discomfort are alarmingly common (and somewhat taboo to admit or discuss). So I personally go out of my way to de-stigmatize and encourage people to be open and unafraid, so long as it's kosher (for lack of a better word). I personally feel that's how Jesus would want it, and has lived it. ... Though, I do admit that likely colors my interpretation and response at times (*sheepish grin*) But, that's why healthy communication is valuable, which you've exemplified in how respectful and bidirectionally accommodating you've been. This has been a refreshingly delightful exchange, and I'm waking away with context that I didn't have before. Thanks for taking the time!

@@gordianknot9595 Even John says we will be given a new name “and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.” Ultimately there is only one name and that is given at the veil. I think you would have a hard time convincing anyone that the washings described in Exodus and used in the temple anciently are the same as full immersion baptism that represents death, burial and rebirth that John the Baptist performed on the Lord. Do you believe the gospel still needs to be restored through a Prophet other than Joseph Smith before Christ can return? “The keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth, and from thence shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone which is cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth, until it has filled the whole earth.” D&C 65:2
@UVJ_Scott
@UVJ_Scott Жыл бұрын
@@gordianknot9595 First off the Bible doesn’t specify how the washing is to be accomplished; there are specifics for oil and blood but not the washings. 4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. 5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod: 6 And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre. 7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him. 20 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. Because baptism is representative of being buried and then reborn there can be no question as to how it is accomplished. Regarding the office of high priest you need to read the Old and New Testament. Aaron was ordained a high priest as was Eleazar following the death of Aaron. Israel continued the practice even though they became corrupt. But the priesthood was still legitimate as evidenced by John the Baptists father who was a high priest officiating in the temple. That Zechariah was a High Priest is testified to not only by the early Protoevangelium of James, but also by many Church Fathers and writers, such as Origen, Chrysostom, Augustine, and Ambrose. “For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:” Hebrews 5:1 My guess is you belong to a church with a paid ministry which is anti-Christ as that was the type of “religion” that caused the Savior to be crucified. “When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:” Matt 27:1 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” Matt 10:8 A paid ministry will do anything to keep its congregation coming so as to get their money., they will tell you anything to keep your money coming.

6:46 this has always confused me. We are told to use the full name of the Church because “When we discard the Savior’s name, we are subtly disregarding all that Jesus Christ did for us-even His Atonement.” And “When we omit His name from His Church, we are inadvertently removing Him as the central focus of our lives.” And that if we allow people to use the nickname “Mormon” people “may think that we worship Mormon.” But then we name the two different priesthoods after men. Does that mean we worship Melchizedek and Aaron? People are more likely to think this because they know who Melchizedek and Aaron are and have no inclination on who Mormon is because they’ve never read the book. The constant use of the full name of the Church feels a lot more like vein repetition. And I get it, in scripture it tells us to give The Holy Priesthood, after the Order of the Son of God a nickname after a man and tells us to not use the name of a man but The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jesus demonstrated that He was doing away with man made temples and places of worship that are supposed to house God's presence. He abolished such by His death as the curtain separating the holiest place where God's presence abides in the Temple at Jerusalem was rent in half from top to bottom. This signifies that God was finished with Temple worship and moving His Holy Spirit to be poured out on all flesh, especially those who believe in Christ's work of salvation. In another place in scripture, Jesus talking to the Samaritan woman, He tells her a time is coming and already is here that those who worship God will neither worship in temples or mountains, meaning, there will no longer be a need for a designated structure or place where His presence abides, but it will be inside the bodies of believers that God will live and move. The body is now the true Temple of God. God does not reside in LDS temples anymore than on any specific mountains. Those temples have no purpose, and the Christian church never built temples until around the later part of the 3rd century. The purpose for those structures was to have a meeting place for the church to gather, not a structure to house His presence. Jesus said, "Where two or three gather in my name, there I am" The temples of God are the believers themselves. The church is not a structure. The church is a living organism made up of all the believers, each uniquely indwelt by the Spirit of God, and corporately, in the presence of God wherever they meet.

I'm a Bible believing christian, have been for 50+years. It just grieves me to see such a lovely sincere and intelligent young lady spouting all this complete nonsense about the Mormon temples. This has nothing to do with biblical Christianity, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the teachings of Christ and his Apostles. There is so much obvious and also hidden paganism and masonic influences in what she is saying and showing, and she is not even remotely aware of it. This dear soul for whom Christ died is a perfect example of the Mormon church's 'finished product'. One day Joseph Smith and the Mormon church leaders will have to give an account to the Lord personally for what they did to people like this speaker. All the time she is being led further away from the teachings of Christ and his Apostles, further away from the Truth, and the true gospel, and ever deeper into the trap of having faith in Joseph Smith and unknowingly letting him and his church, not Christ, have final authority over her life.

The remarkable thing is they haven't a clue what Christianity even is. Good luck getting through to a fully indoctrinated Mormon. These people are good people... but their belief is completely immersed in narcissism. This woman comes across as a kind, caring, and informed person but the truth is, she is under a spell. Mormons have no direct connection to deity... The first law of the Mormon gospel is obedience to church leaders. So, the blind look and the happy face should tell you all you need to know. First comment BOM says wine not water. Wine represents blood NOT water. Jesus drank wine at the last supper NOT water. Son of God does not mean he was created by God having sex with Mary. The veil being rent in twain symbolizes no need for the veil or the high priest. We now have direct access to God through our only High priest Jesus. The reason Jesus did not want the word spread that He was the Son of God too soon was because it was not His time to die. He needed to finish His short mission before He got the Pharisees so upset that they put Him on the cross. Joseph Smith made up the translation of the papyrus when he wrote the book of Abraham. It was not at all about Abraham but the church will still make up stuff to try to prove different even though the papyrus was found and proven Joseph's translation was wrong. The church today doesn't even follow or really believe in the Book of Mormon or they would not teach God is an exalted human because that is NOT taught in the BOM. Also Joseph Smith didn't even believe in the BOM that he wrote or he would not have started polygamy. Just read Jacob 2. He just followed his human desires.

😂 There is nothing inappropriate in her videos. You and your bishop were surprised because you are obviously both unfamiliar with what can be appropriately discussed outside of temple. Because you’ve both not done the necessary research to discover for yourselves what can be discussed outside the temple, your amazement is your responsibility, not the author of this video. Newsflash: Bishops don’t know everything about the temple and many of them need to study the ordinances and covenants more deeply, and what can and can’t be said.

The new name I received the day I went through for my own endowment was Benjamin. Along with every other male in the world that day who went through for their own endowment. They were all Benjamin on that day worldwide.
