You are NOT disappointing with this new clutch of debut albums, this is a great one to cover!

Along with Metal Church - Metal Church, one of the most badass thrash debuts imo.

Legendary album!

I saw Testament perform the complete Legacy album live on Saturday at Milwaukee Metal Fest! What a treat and totally melted my face off! I am new to Testament and only started listening to them in the last 3 years (been listening to metal since early 90's). Strongly agree with RtL/MoP comparison, in fact, one of the reasons I like them so much is because they remind me of when I was first discovering those albums back in the day. I don't hear much Slayer, however. After experiencing Legacy live, I love it even more and firmly cemented in my top 10 of all time.

Chuck Billy has always had the best voice in the Thrash Metal Genre, in my opinion. Deep, aggressive and powerful, his voice is the living embodiment of the Thrash movement, of which I was smack in the middle of, having lived in Northern California for the great majority of my nearly 56 years.

Alex Skolnick is by far the best guitar player in "thrash"

Until Marty Friedman and Rust in Peace , For Thrash Metal Alex on a technical level .. blows everybody away .. He was the Malmsteen of Thrash !!

Skolnick really is (too) good for this band. He is more of a jazz player. In this sense he is one of the best in thrash along with the Megadeth guitar players.

As much as I like albums like this and Practice What You Preach, to me Testament are somewhat overrated in that they aren't at the level of a Slayer or Metallica (although I agree stylistically influenced). A lot of bland thrash/pedestrian material throughout their catalog.
