@@thecritic860 that phrase comes from this episode of their livestream actually. Taliesin Jaffe (Percy) and Matthew Mercer (the Dungeon Master) did a great job feeding off each other in this scene, with Taliesin visibly shaking as he took shot after shot after shot at Sylas and Delilah. Kit Buss, the artist for Critical Role, was on the show as a special guest, the Tiefling wizard named Lillith, who helped them in this fight. She's the one who said "No Mercy Percy" first, and it became a regular chat spam anytime Percy went apeshit on something like this entire story arc.

*Spoiler Free Fact* Percy’s family confined themselves to their city of Whitestone and didn’t get involved with anyone outside their own. This made their deaths that much easier to cover up because no outside political leaders were socially or politically connected with them and couldn’t care much about whatever happened to them.

Ironically, Percy is likely the most level headed of the group under normal circumstances, so you can see that shock on the faces of the rest of the squad when he loses his shit on Desmond and snaps at them. It's very likely they've never seen him upset, let alone that upset. If the Briarwoods hadn't shown up, Percy probably could have navigated the red tape in that party and gotten them more allies and connections across that continent.

Right? The Briarwoods push every one of Percy's buttons. Any other circumstance and Percy is in his element, but they are one of the only things that can get under his skin

iirc no matter how hard the fight was in the Underdark, and on their first trip to Vasselheim (neither shown in this series) he kept an even keel.

Your read on Percy, the fact that he's letting his anger and hatred of the Briarwoods cloud his judgement to the point he's snapping at his own crew, is spot on. If he were thinking rationally he would have seen how outmatched they were. But when it comes to them, Percy's got massive tunnel-vision. Great reaction! You know a show's good when it's able to to draw out such a powerful emotional response like that. Looking forward to your future videos: this is just the beginning of an incredible story.

Just to let you guys know, as a power scale comparison. The dragon they killed; Brimscythe, was halfway between what is considered “young” and “adult” as far as Dungeons and Dragons go. Dragons of D&D can get insanely massive, but yes the Briarwoods are on another level.

though, it has been a while, if I remember correctly, in the original stream, Vox Machina actually does really well against the Briarwoods in this battle, including percy almost Blowing off Sylas' Arm, and Head, meaning they had to Run, and ultimately Teleport away. I expect, they changed that to be more dramatic.

The main cast/creators of the show were all children of the 80s, so making a Saturday morning cartoon that gives no fucks is a dream come true project. I'm told they didn't have to sell the project very hard when they were looking for the cast -- just a description of what they did to make this show got people hooked. Back in the day, an aristocrat wasn't dressed without a flashy codpiece! I don't know about you, but that's the cleverest song about anal beads I've heard all month! Really digging your reactions! You guys came into this cold -- it's the 3rd ep and you guys are not only fully invested in this squad, but the bad guys have got you riled up!

Just a sidenote...... The Bad dude (Sylus Briarwood) is what is called a Vampire Lord. He is exactly like Dracula and is extremely powerful. Delilah Briarwood is a female Warlock. Warlock's get there magical powers by making a pact with some sort of powerful being. This being could be good, bad, God, Demon, Angel, or demi god.
