I think the story is like The sad Alpha man was the nobleman who tried to marry Rose who then ran off and soon after the Sad alpha man sent the Hunter to capture her back for him. Then Hunter falls in love with Rose and now the alpha man is trying to prove he is better and utterly failing

At first I thought the Sad Sad Alpha Man was the Hunter's ex for some reason when I first heard the songs. Kinda glad that's not the case cause I'm so proud of her personal growth through the songs! I had this sort of scene happen in the story I'm writing. The 'sad alpha man' was seconds from finding out who was faster: the mage or the monk when his squad captain showed up and sent him outside with an escort from the rest of their squad, punishment to be doled out later. The captain apologized to the women and a friendly relationship was formed after a short conversation. If they had any interest, he'd have had a better shot mostly because he wasn't trying and was sincere and friendly. You know, when two of your three protagonists are women, it's remarkably easy to make 'sad alpha man' types into minor antagonists.

FUEL FOR MORE SONGS IN THIS SERIES POSSIBLY: If you don't know, greek mythology has Artemis, Goddess of the hunt. she also has a group of all female hunters who swear never to date men and become eternal maidens (celebite). they are almost immortal, (they never age but can be killed in battle). I like to look at this as they are aro/ace, but its also widely seen as just a pack of lesbian hunters.
