there is a video I remember watching years ago, the man on it jumps from a 8th floor, however he does not die because each floor has a balcony with railings and during his fall each one of his limbs gets caught on the railings of each floor stoping the momentum from his jump, this end with him falling like a sack of potatoes but alive and the people that filmed it laughing because they just realiced what just happened, has anyone seen this video?

@@Rex-golf_player810 It was actually somewhat common for explicit videos of war crimes to be played on TV in the former Soviet states, usually to garner sympathy for the Russian cause. Sadly it's not even an eastern thing - in the sixties, news channels used to play videos of Vietnamese people being napalm bombed, including footage of women and children running away literally on fire.

Same reasons why the baseline concept of big criminal organization works, mutually insured destruction. What's going to happen if you do something illegal to someone who's a criminal? They won't call the cops on you but will instead use their own illegal means to get back on you so it's in the mutual interest of everyone involved to keep it nice, civilised and according to the deal

it's been my experience that moms are pretty sketchy. mine was at one point into *Faces of Death* . and she had some dude living in our basement who had BDSM torture gear edit: thanks for the upvotes, love exploiting my weird childhood for gallows humor and shock. if i'm here to laugh about my fucked up childhood, trust me, i'm fine. i mean, i'm obviously fucked up, im here. i know people who had weird living situations as children might relate and probably laughed; after all, even parents can be in open relationships nowadays. but for the people genuinely freaked out, i *know* it's abnormal to have your weirdo "friend" living in the basement while your shitty deadbeat husband's in jail and you tell your kids that the greasy 90's chode is just a buddy. you know, with a flail, whips, and medieval weapons. and some kids staying overnight hear mom hollering and whipping noises in the basement one night... i feel like i shouldn't have to state the obvious, but he never bothered me, like, at all, and my mom's an insane asshole to this day but she's alive and to my knowledge, if anything, my fat, tiny mom would've been emotionally battering to HIM. and would've murdered him if he touched me. take it easy, whang folks

Even ignoring the sheer brutality of the content in that video, I cannot even begin to comprehend how terrified that young soldier must have been. Imagine you, newly eighteen and conscripted into your mandatory service, get sent somewhere with little training, little experience, and that place is where you will undergo one of the most brutal deaths imaginable all while people laugh at your suffering. Terrifying.

Copyright law can extend to near any piece of media somebody creates, and if you make something you just automatically own the copyright to it unless you add a license that says otherwise. If there were exemptions, they'd probably end up being used in attempts to legally argue that certain creative works should be public domain due to certain content, such as hand drawn art depicting gore or books describing assault. Copyright law has a lot of problems due to being designed for a pre-internet world (see Tom Scott's video on the copyright system), but those problems would be far greater if there were exemptions for disturbing content.

I understand you very well, I've always thought the same thing, same words as you. It's a sad thing, but discovering certain things and their surprises makes you understand how far this world is from the fake reality that is told. Real life is unfortunately another and it is much more sordid than one can imagine, even going so far as to imagine the worst, and it is right to know and be savvy.

Man you're so disconnected from reality that even when you make the extra step of acknowledging the guy in the vid is a human being with family, history and ppl that care abt him, all you're arsed about is copyright laws and not the fact the poor lad was literally beheaded, after having been tortured so brutally. "Fun"-fact: I was introduced to this video because the band Cattle Decapitation sampled it in their song "Testicular Manslaughter". For years I was innocently listening to it with only the occasional fleeting thought about the gurgling at the beginning until I read about its apparent origins somewhere. Because I am a dangerously curious person I looked it up and the resulting mix of emotions (familiarity because I've heard it so often and abject horror at what was happening) was a surreal experience to say the least.

Idk man, liveleak has been run by manbabies for ages, i remember they took down memes about the site owner and perma banned basically everyone who would say "owner" and any badwords in the same sentence, like "owner is bad/stupid/a moron/a fool/etc" I remember how silly it was just before they changed it to itemfix, and started exclusively reuploading videos thedodo would be making videos on.. The reason why they shut the website down so suddenly was because they also wanted to take down everything ever posted because it would be easier then to code and compile a bot that sends all the videos back to their owners via email and .mp4s. You can tell this is why, because their "excuse" was litterally the same copy-paste "we cant wait to see what the future has in store for us! Pls be happy" corpo bs basically every exec is forced to write when they fail... Unlike max goldberg, the king of the early internet.

The dead can't be harmed by how we remember or discuss them, at best you could argue that any living relatives of his could be traumatized by coming across videos like this. The actual content is just as neutral and harmless as anything else he covers on the channel... y'know, other than being really fucking disturbing and morbid. I will say that while I understand the curiosity to see things like this, anyone going down that road should seriously consider why that is and what they hope to accomplish. Gore and similar things can be legitimately damaging to your mental health and if someone is already struggling with various psychological issues then this kind of content is very likely to just worsen the situation. That's something for each individual to be aware of though and judge for themselves, I think it's also just as plausible for some people to feel nothing but idle curiosity, cringe a bit at the shock value and then move on as though nothing happened.

so I had a friend that was really, really into Chechen snuff films back in 2002-2008. I'm almost sure he had it back in the day. As in, he played it in class and he got put on probation. I wasn't in the room, but people described a dude being beheaded with a big knife, slowly. He also had a 120GB hard drive, completely filled with nothing but these kinds of videos. I know I saw more of the video than the 15 second clip, too. I think I remember him dying, and not just the gurgling. BTW he loved shocking people with those kinds of videos for "laughs." Dude was really screwed up, and became a skinhead. I just stopped talking to him not long after 2003, when I left the school he was in. I had mutuals that kept track of him until he joined some militant group in the midwest. Not many people have actually scared me in my life. I've known many terrible people. But this guy was just one bad day away from being a killer in one of the snuff videos he loved so much.

(Specifically balkans areas, Kosovo, Serbia, and mountainous regions like the Caucasus). I think it’s horrific that “history” doesn’t teach us about conflicts that will be forgotten by everyone but their own people and the countries that still have political tensions with them. I don’t think we should forget their fights, people forget that they created the monsters. Genocide creates terrorist. If your people were murdered by another group for decades and even centuries, you might not like them very much, you might want justice. Now, extremism is terrible, but enabling it and using it as propaganda for your cause is terrible too. Cough Russia cough

So, I saw my first beheading video at age 15 in 2004. My uncle was in the military and was stationed in Iraq. . He made friends with a man named Eugene Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong was a private citizen, doing contracting work in Iraq. As in, construction. My uncle ended up drinking coffee with Eugene on base nearly every morning for nearly a year. Unless he was out on patrol, he’d have coffee with Mr. Armstrong. In 2004, Eugene was abducted by jihadists. Not long after he was beheaded and the video was spread all over the internet. My mom was told about this by my uncle, who was obviously pretty devastated by losing his new friend in such a horrific way. My mom ended up looking around for info regarding the incident and she came across the video. I was sitting right beside her. She clicked on the video, I guess not knowing what she was about to watch (neither did I). Well, it’s them putting Eugene on his side, and subsequently starting to literally saw his head off with a dull knife, starting at the front of the neck. The sounds of him trying to scream, while he’s now drowning on his own blood which is pouring down his windpipe were….horrific. Just the whole thing was SO horrific and terrible that it imprinted itself into my brain. I’m now 33 years old and I can still play the video back in my mind, in its entirety. It *literally* changed my whole life. Everything was now viewed through the lens of knowledge that humans can do some incredibly barbaric and savage shit to each other. I’m sure the video is still out there. But you can read about Eugene if you google. It’s an old cliche about the war veteran who “won’t talk about it,” but literally my uncle just will not speak about Eugene or his time with him. At all.

No one deserves to die like that man. It's why I stay away from videos like this and detest Plagued Moth. Discussing videos like this like it's your average topic or making them readily available for anyone, especially children, is not right. Not only should no one die like this, but for the sake of the families the footage should never make it back to them nor should people pass it around like it's a cat video or something light in nature. The dead deserve respect and their deaths should not be immortalized because of people's morbid curiosities. These videos change your inner circuits man, and not in a good way. Obviously, death will always be around even the most horrible aspects of death, but that does not mean we should pass around those moments or aspects of it like it's a condiment at the table.

God, the Chechen wars were so insanely fucked up. People (mostly in the west) erroneously remember the 90s as a relatively stable time in history, owing to the end of the cold war, but in reality it was an insanely violent and bloody decade in human history. Two major genocides (Bosnia and Rwanda) the first wave of the chechen wars, the Somali civil war, Iraq and Kuwait, the various conflicts in the former Yugoslavia as a whole, the seizure of control by the Taliban in Afghanistan (the FIRST one, I guess we have to say that now...), etc. So many insanely fucked up geo-political events took place, most of them as a result of power vacuums left from the dissolution of the soviet union and its satellite states. It seems like many people in the west are not too familiar with these conflicts or their major ramifications, both domestically and internationally. Below is a very abbreviated retelling of one of the worst instances in the the Chechen conflict: The Chechen wars, despite being a smaller scale in raw numbers than other major conflicts of the 20th century, was one of the most brutal examples of modern warfare imaginable-- both sides committed horrendous war crimes throughout, as this video readily attests. During the second wave of conflicts (99-2009) in 2004, a group of militant Chechen rebels took violent control of a school in Beslan while children were still attending classes and while parents and staff had convened to celebrate the opening of a new school year. These were grade school children, some as young as five years old. They hurdled the 1000 hostages into the school's gym and rigged the entrance ways with IEDs to prevent Local police forces or Russian military from entering. They kept them there for days without food or water. Some resorted to drinking urine in an attempt to stave off dehydration. On the third day an explosion was heard from the interior of the building, no one is sure what/who set it off or why exactly, but the result was it prompted the terrorists to open fire on the Russian forces and for the Russians to begin an attack on the hostage takers. Intense fire and shelling took place between the two sides. Despite the hostages being in the same building as the terrorists who took them captive, Russian forces began to shell the building. This included firing anti-tank missiles, flamethrowers and incendiary missiles at key locations. Eventually the roof of the gymnasium caught fire and collapsed, creating an inescapable furnace. 160 men, women, and children were burnt to death or died from smoke inhalation. After clearing the rubble and evacuating all that they reasonably could, it was found that out of the over 1,000 hostages, 302 had died, more than half of them from the collapse ceiling/fire. All of the hostage takers save for one seemed to be killed in the fighting, and the one who escaped was found shortly after. It is widely considered to be the deadliest school shooting in human history. The event prompted a series of federal reforms in Russia under then (and now) president Vladimir Putin, to strengthen Russian federal forces and to centralize the power of the presidential office within the country. The tragedy proved to be one of the single most consequential events in modern Russian history and can be compared to a degree to the American congress passing the patriot act in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks (though the impact of the latter obviously far outweighed the former in terms of scale and overall impact internationally). The even also effected to health of the press in Russia. The official account given by the Russian state contradicts many elements of the accounts given by survivors, eye witness account, and journalistic reports from field reporters who were at the scene and has been criticized as a "white wash" to downplay actions taken by local and federal forces in response to the crisis. Some survivors even went as far to sue the Russian government in international court. The prompt response of the government to censor journalistic accounts of that day's events were a prelude to the wave of censorship that continues to this day in Russia on sensitive topics. Because of this, and the government's reluctance to share key intel and documents relating to the crisis, many aspects and finer details about the even remain shrouded in uncertainty.

Western media loves to cry about the take no prisoners attitude the Russian forces had in Chechnya, but look at what they were up against. You can't merely reason with people who are taking school children hostage because Allah told them to. What's interesting though is that after all the whining from the West about Putin's brutal tactics, today one of the most war-torn places on the planet two decades ago is now a beautiful and peaceful region where people are living their lives out normally. Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, where we played by the "rules", people continue to suffer, and will for the unforeseen future. People seem to forget that we dropped two nukes on Japan and bombed the hell out of civilians in Dresden to achieve the peace and prosperity in the West that we now take for granted.

Oh man, when I was a kid, the guy who sold my parents a second hand PC (which was our first one ever) left some CD's haging around. I would go through them searching for games or any fun PC stuff to do, as it was that time when turning on your PC and just messing around was fun enough. Once, I was home alone and found this one CD-rom with some dark flash animations that were just too much for me, basic stuff like Salad Fingers and some other ones with demonic imagery that I never had the courage to finish and this other one of a baby bear that played with a butterfly, then ripped its wings appart, only to larger insect (presumably the butterfly's mother) come to the little bear and his mother demanding to rip his arms from his body, like he did to the butterfly. There was no blood, but it was disturbing nonetheless. The little bear wakes, it was just a god-awful dream, he is angry at his mom but hugs her in the end, if I'm correct. Then, in this same CD there's this video of an army guy being beheaded in a desert location by another guy who had his face covered. Not the one Whang talks about, another one. But man, what an awful thing to see. To this day I regret having watched it, even though I don't remember most of it, just that it happened and what it was about. All the imagery is gone from my head, which I'm thankful for. It's so weird that I saw it as a kid, I genuinely feel sad for my 8-year-old self who just wanted some console emulators, some flash games and maybe some viral comedy videos.

I’ll give you guys a rundown from the full, original video. Don’t ask for a source, this is a 20 year old gore video that has been wiped from the internet. The granddaddy of all internet gore, if you will. It actually started out with an older man standing in what looked to be a vineyard. He’s being interrogated, they then blindfold him and have him bend over onto a tree stump. They then proceed to chop his head off with an axe. It takes a few swings, the executioner wasn’t great at his job. It then cuts to the infamous young Russian soldier. He’s being interrogated/antagonized by his Chechen captors. Fuck if I know what was being said. You can tell the soldier is very nervous but at the same time is hopeful that the Chechens will show him mercy. After a bit of time they suddenly toss him on his stomach, knee to the back and knife to the throat. After the decapitation they present his severed head to the camera while laughing and shouting. It wasn’t quite 5 minutes but was indeed longer than what exists today. I watched it many, many times on Ogrish between 1999-2001. Back then, a video like chech.clear was unheard of. A holy grail for gore hounds, hence its legendary status as the OG internet gore clip. It was the first truly shocking gore clip since the JFK Zapruder film which is why it left such an impact on the early internet.

The longer cut is in fact 100% real, it was on Limewire when I was a kid. I'm unsure about it ever ending up on Ogrish or Liveleak, I do recall people discussing it in detail on probably Ogrish and trying to translate the words being said to the kid in the extended cut. The downside to it is that its not exactly memorable, the most graphic part is the part you see in the original short video, even the part where he beheads him and holds it up is a blurry off-screen mess, a portion of the video is them conversing back and forth with the victim after showing other captured members of his unit. Back in the day on Ogrish claimed they were demanding each of the people in the video convert to Islam or die but I never saw any confirmation of that because nobody translated it in the comments and also post 9/11 xenophobia. The decapitation is the most graphic part of the video. I am being non sequential because it's hard to recall the order of the video because parts of it are vivid but it was so uneventful compared to the lead up to the eventual decapitation that you don't even bother rewatching the other parts of the video. Its a continuous shot video containing riveting scenes of them setting things up, standing around or making speeches with a super blurry ass camera that only focuses on shots when it is completely 100% still.

@Brupcat I really don't think they are equal. MY heart goes out to all the sexual assault survivors in the world as not only are they physically and emotionally violated they may have to have a child they don't want as well. But it really doesn't compare to actually taking someone's life. The kind of person who willingly without orders cuts through someone's throat and then off their head is fair more disturbed and vile than someone who commits sexual assault. Both are completely deplorable acts but only one of them literally removes a living soul from existence. That person will never live again. At least with sexual assault there is some (slim albeit) hope of recovering from the trauma. If you are murdered that's it, you are gone. You're parents may never see you, siblings may never see you, children may never see you. And your last moments will have been being helpless whilst your head is literally being cut off and all around you are laughing. A decapitated head can live for around 8 second after decapitation. That man could have spent 8 seconds as just a literal head whilst everyone around him laughs like it's the funniest thing they've ever seen. That is truly monstrous.

I watched this when i was super young. ~9-10 years old. I watched the full clip on the bus when I was going to school. It still terrifies me to this day when i remember it.

Honestly, since they removed the dislike bar, i haven't been paying attention to likes vs dislikes which isn't really a bad thing. Some people use that to influence their opinion about a video.

I remember this one. I was very young when I watched it. A neighbor lend me and my brother a CD with various random videos, but from what I remember this was the only gore one. I was shocked and convinced myself that it was fake. I watched it only one time but that was all I needed. Didn't know it was quite this popular. Interesting video, thanks Whang.

Who burns a beheading video to a CD? What, is he going to watch it over and over again? Is it that entertaining?

I could definitely have fooled myself into thinking it was fake if I had seen it when I was younger. The way a decapitated head is just looks so much more unusual than I expected watching this just now.

I remember watching the full version when I was 12 or 13, it has remained one of the most memorable execution videos just because it gave such a personal and brutal point of view in an event that I hadn't even known had happened.

My parents seem to (sometimes) think I'm kinda sick I'm for watching bloody Horror movies, but I see it as harmless entertainment. Yet I can relate to how my parent feel since I can't fathom why someone would seek out these IRL gore videos. I'm staying away from this shit as much as I can. What little I did see involuntarily effed me up enough as it is.

The thought of seeking out real deaths like these has always been bizarre to me. It seems a bit inappropriate to the late lives of these people unless you're studying it (forensics etc). Very Victorian and not the romanticised part of things lmao

I lived through that early era of the internet growing up and somehow missed every gore video. (Except Jar man, hilariously enough. Accidentally ran into a gif of it.) I plan on keeping it that way. Can't do it. I can't do horror flicks either. That stuff haunts me and makes my anxiety go off the charts. (Ironically, most horror video games don't bother me AS much though?) Thanks for the warning on the audio, Whang.

I am very nearly the same way.. I have seen gore videos and stuff that are disturbing and usually I find myself disgusted and angry at humanity. Definitely times when I regret deciding to indulge my curiosity. Last thing I saw was that streamer shooting himself with a shotgun about a year ago..... :( Haunted me for a while....

I never was big on watching those kind of videos in the first place but they didn't haunt me and I didn't feel much watching them but now that I'm almost in my 30s it really turns my stomache.
