I remember seeing those Spider-Man 4 trailers in like 2010 with venom from Spiderman 3 edited and coloured in red to show a fake carnage and thinking they were real and telling my friends at school , good times.

If they were gonna do a story where Peter is tempted to cheat, I'd only accept something like the Mindy episode of the Simpsons, where the connection and temptation is there, but it only serves to strengthen the relationship in the end.

I think if Spider-Man 4 were to finally be announced. It would work. Cause now Raimi seems to have a better idea on how he wants to do it. Maybe it was for the best Spider-Man 4 got canceled then since Sam Raimi was clearly was overwhelmed with everything and didn’t know the kind of story he wanted, but now he does, or at least have some kind of idea. But I do think that there probably no way they can use any of the original ideas, especially using Vulture. There are people saying they could use Lizard, which yes it can work but I wanna see someone new, I think it would be interesting to see Tobey’s Spidey face off against Hobgoblin. I think it could be interesting. Now if they were to be able to use Vulture for this film, then I’d love to see them adapt the LifeTheft Storyline.

Honestly the plot outline of spider man 4 feels more like a bad fanfic rather than the final installment in the spider man series.

Too much time has passed to film it the way it was intended. I think a graphic novel would be the perfect format for it. Black Cat is a professional thief in the comics. After Spiderman interferes with a few her heists. She starts pursuing Spiderman, but not for romantic reasons, well not at first. She eventually discovers his real identity, and then starts interfering with his personal life. Eventually the two become allies, after Spiderman saves her life. After she becomes his source of information on the New York's criminal underworld. Like King Pin, and the mob. The two of them do become a couple for a short time, but I wouldn't call their relationship romantic. It's more a fling that happens, while Peter and Mary Jane are taking a break on their relationship.

‘Turn off the Dark’ next…Ooooh, yes! That’s going to provide A LOT of juicy material to tear into (and possibly even Musical Theater geeks to check out your channel)! For ‘Spider-Man 4’, with all these details in the story about Peter having an affair behind MJ’s back (after his fall from grace in movie 3), the retread of the Norman/Harry storylines with Vlture and Vultress, and Peter supposedly quitting being Spider-Man at the end (AGAIN, again)…Yeah, I think it was for the best that Raimi left the story to rest. Heart-breaking as that decision must have been for him, he already had such a struggle balancing the story for Movie 3 and it’s multiple plot threads with the marketing agenda the studio had placed upon him, so I wouldn’t want to see him go through the same thing again to (most likely) lesser success. Now I think ‘No Way Home’ did a fairly good job at (vaguely) detailing Tobey Miguire’s Spider-Man’s life after the events of the trilogy (especially with the brief line about how he and Mary Jane did manage to make their relationship work after a while)…but if we ever do get a return to the Raimiverse sometime in the future, I’d be open to seeing what it has to offer.

Wow. I can kinda see why this movie never got made. I guess it's like Superman Lives where fans made it up to sound more interesting than the actual story they had in mind. But it makes me happy we got The Amazing Spider-Man, and No Way Home's take on Maguire's Spider-Man after the third film. Also, when you mentioned Sony wanted SM5 and SM6, that's not true. Raimi denied this as well. You see, while Raimi was developing SM4, Sony hired it's screenwriter to write the scripts for TASM 1 &2 behind Raimi's back as backup plans, in case SM4 fell through. They were just labeled as 5 and 6 on social media but nobody knew they were the scripts for a reboot. The screenwriter even said SM4 would've intentionally ended the series. Meaning Spider-Man retired for good at the end. Once Raimi's sequel fell through and he left, Sony immediately announced their reboot plans in 2010. And Sam Raimi told the executives "Go ahead with your reboot. Which, you've been planning anyway."

I gotta say props to Raimi to not make a 4th one at the time and maybe its because of the third one not doing so well critically it made him nervous to risk making a 4th one which might of been even more hated than the previous one with some of the ideas they were gonna go with or at least that's just my guess if they were to go with those. He always seem to make these movies outta love and passion instead of money. But who's to say with many years past now there could be a chance of a 4th one but with a very different story altogether and so on.

Having Peter Parker cheat just isn’t a good idea ever. Characters like Spider-Man are Paragons and it just doesn’t work. It goes against him as a character and everything he stands for, I hated it in the comics too.

I hope that if Spider-Man 3 had been made, they would have steered away from everything we see in these scripts. Vulture and Black Cat sure, but I think Peter and Mj's relationship--Kinda the crux the Raimi saga built itself on--going away to an affair would make Peter truly unlikable. But I think Marvel's editorial probably pushed for that script to go along with the comics since by that point, Peter and MJ weren't together anymore. Also with the footage at 17:50 it doesn't take that long to defeat the helicopter actually in that prototype version, the person playing in that footage seems to just be trying to show off everything and not finishing the fight quickly.

Kind of glad that this film never got released. Would have ruined Peter's character in the worst way possible and the repeat of some storylines like Peter giving up Spider-Man and the whole revenge plot where the villain's child misinterprets a moment in time would make the Raimi films repetitive and a bit cheap.

That "new" suit for Spidery was for The Amazing Spider-Man, not Spider-Man 4! In his website he says: "As a bonus, I put an ‘audition’ piece at the bottom that I did for the late, great J. I would do something more different. MJ and Parker would fight about being Spider-Man and that sooner or later he would dead. Also people keep hating Spider-Man and then Black Cat would show Spider-Man that being a hero is not too bad and fight with him. Then Spider-Man fights the Vulture and then find out May is dating Vulture and Parker can't do anything about it an just try to understand and reason with him. Something like that and MJ finally let him be Spider-Man and Black Cat would team up with Spider-Man from time to time. But not fully

If you would have asked the 2011 me I would of been super frustrated why we didn’t get a fourth but slightly older now I get why and i’m glad. The films had a formula that connected and made them work but to make so many of these films it becomes serialised and bland. Almost unoriginal, taking the concept from the last film and switching just to have another villain. Like I’m not too fussed about seeing the vulture and black cat in this universe if they are basically carbon copy’s of Norman Osborn and Betty Brant filled in only to make MJ jealous. A point which you’ve picked up on. We’ve already had this plot point happen in the third film with Gwen Stacey. It’s the same thing just different characters. I see potential in the possibility of bring one final film back maybe in like a Logan style but nothing more than that and really even though he’s my childhood hero. I would have been more than happen to bury him after Spider-Man 3 it’s the golden trilogy. It’s contained, it doesn’t need to be anything more than that. Though I do like the idea of Bruce Campbell being in the fourth as mysterio because he made cameos as two different people in the different things and said “add’s to the illusion” in the second. His characters he was playing were wacky so maybe his set up was to get caught to foil a plan but Peter was far too caught up with other things to recognise him as a threat

Well, to be honest, that plot for cancelled Spider-Man 4 is kinda sucks. Sure, it would be nice to see my favorite Spider-Man return again, but the plot needs some changes. Like, instead of Spider-Man kicking Vulture from the roof to his death, he get's up, beat him really badly, Vulture just gives up and escapes, promising to return. Then, we move back to Peter's none Spider-Man life, where he is returning to work, and after some time he finds out that, there is some robbery going on around the city. Then, he puts on Spider-Man suit and goes to investigate those cases, along with police arriving on the scene of crimes. And then, they all find out that, it was some kind of a thief, who was escaping from the crime scene, and Spider-Man goes to chance that thief down, but lost him eventually. Then, we get back to Peter and MJ's montage with their better life now, after which, at some point, Peter returns back to work, only to find out that his boss of the organization that he was working on, turns out to be a Vulture. Like, he just caught Adrian Toomes finishing putting on his vulture suit, while that thief, who escaped from the crime scene previously, arguing with him about stolen stuff and the price. And then it turns out that, that thief was a Black Cat. Then they noticed Peter, and chase him down, just to catch him and probably kill him, but he manages to hide behind the corner, put on his Spider-Man suit, and gives the battle back to those two. And during the fight, when Spider-Man takes down Vulture again, but this time without serious damage been done to him, simply sticking him to the wall with his webs, he left to fight against Black Cat. And during that fight, Black Cat notices some familiar voice behind the Spider-Man's mask, and during the fight, when they fell from the roof, Black Cat manages to torn Spider-Man's mask, revealing Peter's face, while Peter sees who Black Cat really is - the Felicia Hardy. Then, they starting a conversation of, why all this stuff happened, Peter is trying to convince her to stop been a thief, and maybe team up with him. And after some struggle, she agrees. Then, Peter covers his face with a web, just to hide his true identity, just in time before the Vulture strikes back. He grabs Spider-Man, and drags him through the buildings, smashing him through some windows, but Spider-Man break out of this fight, and starts to fight back, just in time when Black Cat decided to join him, and they fight back against Vulture, defeating him in the process. They break his wings and knock him out, when police arrives on to the scene, arresting Toomes, but since they have no idea that, that thief that they were trying to catch was a Black Cat, they let her go with Spider-Man. Then, few days later, we have a montage with Spider-Man and Black Cat working together, when there is a radio message from the police that Vuture escaped. Thus, when they arrive at prison, they see all cops been defeated or killed, and then Vulture flies on top of the building, revealing that he knows the true identity of Spider-Man, and before he attacks them both, he impales the Black Cat with one of his sword-like feather, through her shoulder, and then attacks them both. He beats them both very badly, but then whole S.W.A.T arrives and shoots at Vulture, while Spider-Man grabs him with his web and pulls him down, smacking him by his back on to the statue nearby, damaging his spine. Then, in rage, he jumps on Vulture, beating his face so badly that it turns blue. And, finally, Black Cat drags him away and they escape together, while the S.W.A.T and police taking Vulture in to another prison with maximum security, putting him on a wheelchair in the end. And in the ending, Peter introduces Felicia to MJ as his co-worker, and they get along just fine. They build a friendship, but then, there is a scene with Vulture already planning his revenge and his escape, while camera shifts out of his cell, revealing some mistery figure standing in the dark at him. This way, the plot of Spider-Man 4 would be better, in my opinion. Sure, it is just my fantasy and all that, but it is better than what they were planning to do.

I guess things end up the way they should, this script sounds terrible, and Tobey and Kirsten were too old to keep playing these characters...on the other hand, there are conflicted reports about this movie, Raimi started once Anne Hatheway was playing Black Cat and not the Vulturess, and just last year Bruce Campbell started he was not playing Mysterio in this movie.

Ramies series was becoming stale and this film would have just added to that. Another mid level at best spidey film. They could have gone a completely different route which would have made it interesting but eh Sony! A new suit would have been a start. If they were to do it now is a blessing with 15 years to think about it. An R rated comic accurate kravens last hunt in the the style of Logan could do that, Peter now a dad. Maybe introduce miles.
