Dave Kohler For your information, most of Malaysians hate Donald Tump because his acts of banning most of muslim countries from entering USA . Luckily , Malaysia is not in the list eventhough most of Malaysian are muslims. I think its because Malaysia has little to no terrorism. Our country clearly shows the real teaching of islam which is peace. Donald is the cause of islamophobia.

Having a different political party running government after 70 years has an automatic benefit in making the institutions of government (judiciary, police force, etc) understand that their political masters may not be the same come next election, which forces them to be more independent. Beyond that, we can only hope for now.

Musnahkan Tahi Lembu Amen!!! Say that again. I dare you. I might be a PH voter but insult my Kings again, I will make sure PH lost handsomely. The Kings acted as to constitution & to have them interfere directly on the previous government i.e remove a sitting PM, can only be done by declaring emergency & appoint MKN as caretaker. Would you like to see direct interference of such by the Kings? What if we end up like Thailand? The council of Sultans & Agong acted based on the current laws, they can only make a statement in which they did, you can research that. Don't push your luck, we won but there are plenty like me who can change vote in a sec if you crossed the line.

Mohamad Hisyam bin Mokhtar hey Hisyam. I think there's no need to put in personal sentiments into this. It's the commentators' ignorance to utter such words and statements. The fact that you say you "can make sure PH lost handsomely" is uncalled for. You respect the King, that's admirable considering the fact that they are part of our Malaysan historical core. But don't you think your comment is a little unfair to the now government because some of obnoxious keyboard warrior lashed out aimlessly? Don't take this personal okay? :)

most of the decisions made by the king are mostly from the prime minister office, all they need is the YDP Agong's consent. without the YDP Agong's consent, they somehow will be able to go on with the pardon. YDP Agong is the head of state, we all believe in him as the King of Malaysia but he doesn't really have power to decide on many issues. Just like Queen Elizabeth.

Something need to be corrected here: Prime Minister is not the head of state in Malaysia, that goes to the King (yes, Malaysia have kings, or more accurately, sultans). The PM is just the head of government, unlike in US and other presidential systems where the head of government and state are the same thing.

I'm has been following Malaysia politic since 1980, from my opinion; what Tun M did is justified and according to the law. Basically, why Malaysian choose PH because Malaysian sick and tired of the corruption and abuse of power done by BN. Why it take so long, again We, Malaysian always monitor the government action in govern Malaysia and waited the right time to make our moved. This how we, Malaysian did to overcome the corrupt government. Other factor is Malaysian want change and we believed Tun M can help Malaysian to put Malaysia in the right track (This based on Tun M track record has showed that he is a great leader). For the future, no one can predict but we believe that with strong support from Malaysian people and with the help of capable leader (Tun M), Malaysia will be on track.

Theres nothing to proud of with current PH govt. Current PH govt are even more worst than BN. You may say najib is worst leader but at least he still helping the poor people and Economically grow better under Najib admin unlike now. Even only 25% malay who voted for PH while the rest voted for BN/Pas. Because majority malay know PH trying to push liberal agenda which can give negative effect to malay which most of them are conservative. Trust me PH will only survive for one term and conservative coalition BN/Pas will make a comeback and take over back the govt form PH in next election

Mahathir only proposed to the king, yes the king got that pardon power, other sultan also got that pardon power. Anwar will release in few month, but the pardon make it sooner,so anwar not banned from politic in 5 years after prison, also anwar can enjoy fasting month with family in this year.

He is for the most part. It was during his era that the Muslims in the country rose and the non-muslim ethnic minorities were pushed aside. Chinese were stripped of their business licenses and countless Hindu temples demolished. Christians didn't have it good either. But now he's realised his mistakes and he has adapted some liberal policies such as equality to all race, removal of race-quotas in government sectors etc. Some leaders in the party have even pledged their support for LGBT. Truly new era indeed!
