When I was young, I didn't know "Mattel" was a company name. Every time a Barbie or Hot Wheels commercial ended with "from Mattel," I thought they were saying "from motel." I kept wondering where was the motel all of these toys were coming out of and how I could find it. Because of this, I never checked any stores to see if they had these toys, because I was convinced I needed to locate that elusive motel.

The reason Barbie is the best selling toy is because Barbie lets the child decide what they want to play. Before Barbie dolls were just babies and young girls, when Barbie came on the scene she let girls play as princesses, cowgirls, astronauts, nurses, or anything. Doll originally expected girls to be mothers, Barbie expected girls to have fun.

Everyone saying Ken and Barbie are committing incest: Grow up. They simply named the dolls after their kids. The dolls' characters are not brother and sister.

Only in America does stealing millions of dollars have a lesser punishment than petty larceny. It's almost as is this country punishes people for being poor.

Let's not forget that Barbie was created after Ruth went to Germany and saw the Bild Lilli doll and got the idea for an American version. If she copied a popular German doll and claimed Barbie was a new idea, what's to say she didn't know about the 1971/1972 fraud. I doubt that she didn't know.

Oh my goodness, talk about the history of Uno. It has a wild story in and of itself. It was the favorite card game of some of my buddies from the academy. Related note, some of the sweetest old ladies I work with are on fraud charges. Sometimes they try to lie, sometimes they just goof up. I'd like to hear what you have to say. Thanks for reading.
